You’ll soon have to pay to book a seat in the waiting area if you want a premium seat for boarding.  The “free seats” will board last.

When those super competitive chair hogs figure out that each seat cost $1,465, I bet they fly in a day early just to stake their claim.

Make sure to get the latest possible check in time but get to port at 10am.
Just imagine 5 hours in the new chairs….

Whatever you pack toiletry/med wise for a 7 day cruise multiply by 4.
Id  bring an extra set of glasses if you wear them.  Hubby’s disappeared out of the cabin one cruise-sucked for him! Also if you use hearing aids extra batteries.

Pattycruise got a reaction from TXCoastPatriot in Combining casino offers
I keep a photo album on my phone just for cruise info.
I have a pic regarding same codes.
The highet category that can be gotten is a JS when you combine the same offer code.
    Here is the list
    same code
    Int + Int= OV
    Int + OV=BAL
    Int + Bal = JS
    Int+JS =JS

    OV + OV = Bal
    OV+Bal = JS
    OV+JS = JS
    Bal+Bal=JS
    Bal+JS = JS

    JS+JS= JS
I will keep in mind that when combining won't get you to a GS that the value of the second cert is used towards the upgrade fee.

I was on Symphony of the Seas with our teen daughters in February. The kids insisted that they did not want housekeeping in their room, which I found annoying at the time. The said it creeped them out to think of a stranger going in and out of their space. This story came out a couple of weeks after our cruise and I realized that the kids had the right idea. 😬

For the ppl saying the employees make very little money, we forget that their room and board is paid for every day. So we need to add to their pay the cost of food and room.
Was watching a video of a day in the life of an on board musician. He had to pay for his internet at a discount and extra sodas he wanted but other than that everything was free. His monthly expenses were about $325. Now ask yourself what your monthly expenses are. Rent/mortgage heat, electricity, food, internet, car etc... I would say these folks are doing alright. If they weren't, they wouldn't do it. This isn't slavery, no one is forcing them to be there.

Carnival has reportedly made plans to bring their current sailing into Norfolk.  I’ve not heard about the Baltimore cruise that left this past Saturday-I believe they are a 12 day sailing so they have some time to figure it out.

This is classic Royal Caribbean how they do things. It's just on a few select sailings, not to worry and then it's fleet wide within a month or two. That's how they roll.

My two youngest will be off to college soon, the time we have with the kids just zooms by (as a mom of a 30 year old I know this to be true!). Having the family camp out in one room, in tight quarters, is a good- a great- thing! You will have an amazing time. Alaska is a destination cruise, so your focus will be on the ports and I am sure you will be exhaused at the end of each port day. No regerts with your original booking- spend some of the money you have saved on excursions, or a great meal together as a family... or put it towards a future cruise 🙂

Wondering how late the tenders run on an overnight port.  We are sailing on QOTS from Hawaii in three weeks.  We have two days in Kona.  Does anyone know how late the tenders will run that night in between?

Surely it will be less expensive to fly to/from Florida than to pay for a month of parking on top of the cost to drive with a hotel stop each way.

This happened to me with a recent Allure sailing and I wasted hours dealing with it. Long story short, they (RCI) did not keep my excursions/add-on ons separate from my cruise fare. My cruise was paid in full but each time I would adjust the add ons the final price of my cruise was impacted. I think they are running things on Windows 3.1.

Better reschedule that! After 2025 it’ll be harder to cruise the fjords. I have us booked on celebrity out of Southampton in June 2025. Better itinerary than Indy.

Pattycruise got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Should I be concerned?
    In the end
after they said I owed money
they put a credit on my credit card on file for the first portion, and then put a charge for that same amount  on that same card which zeroed out my balance due
Then they put another credit on my card on file for the remainder of the balance of the item purchased and again a charge of the same amount to zero out the charge.

i wholeheartedly believe it was an IT issue. Somehow the system showed an additional refund of $ -taken from a fully paid cruise balance-  on returned items that were already credited to me from the original form of payment.  The original refund was accounted for.  There was no way anyone owed -me to them or them to me. I think the only way they could clear this bizarre accounting error was to issue a refund and then charge it again. The reason it was done in 2 parts was the purchase was done for a few cabins and despite paying “$100 for 2 cabins item reservations” when Royal refunds it shows as “$50 and $50”  their refunds are broken down to “per cabin refunds” so essentially 2 different charges/refunds had to be done to clear their system.

Here is the other very, very strange thing you can run into and I don't quite understand it. The "pick your own room" is cheaper and sometimes by a lot than "we pick your room". It's always a surprise when I see that and very pleasant one. I don't know how that happens honestly.
