I started to panic after reading about closed venues.  However, I read on an old cruise compass that there are build your own Bloody Mary bars open at 8:00am on port days.  Nameste.

Oh ok. Two parts in a Civil action. Liability and then Damages. Grandfather gets on the stand and says he held granddaughter over railing. Moreover, RCCL's Counsel will bring up his allocution, and once the jury hears he accepted responsibility by his plea in the Criminal action, the jury will have to decide if Grandfather is 100% or if there is Comparative Negligence by RCCL, which will most likely be minimal. In addition, RCCL can bring in Grandfather in the Civil action as a Third-Party action.

I was talking about using the guilty plea in the civil case that I am assuming would have a jury.

I thought we were having a discussion here.  I didn't realize only the experts can chime in.  Just to let you know, most of your posts on this forum have that tone in them.

Grandpa's plea deal is likely the best course of action for the family at this point in the game or they wouldn't go there.
The civil case is very different and not associated or bound to the government's criminal case against Grandpa.
By accepting the plea deal the parents prevent a lot of discovery and evidence that might have worked against them in their civil case against Royal.  Grandpa is a puppet following orders.

He is not admitting to the facts, but he is accepting the guilty plea, which means he is saying, "Guilty."

This same lawyer has an ad on Facebook reaching out to (Diamond) Princess passengers who want to sue the cruise line.

Not shocking to read they asked for a bench trial.  I don't think any jury after seeing the video would not convict him of at least negligent homicide.  However, a judge has to go by the letter of the law and not any emotion.
My other thought is that going in this path may help them in their civil lawsuit.  If the judge does not find him negligent, than it can help in a civil case with jurors.

If you don't think you'll want to go to a specialty restaurant every night, go for a 3 night dining plan so you can alternate with the MDR.

We have always found the gift shopping better at Labadee than Coco Cay.  We have enjoyed the fixed price shop with many vendors and genuine hand-made gifts.  We have also enjoyed the beach precisely because it is less commercial.  That said, the snorkeling off the beach isn't as good at Labadee as at Coco Cay.    I like the fact that Royal invested in Haiti many years ago when others didn't.  I am open to improvements, but I hope it is never a theme-park atmosphere.

My first thought wasn't actually the crowds, it was:  that's gonna confuse some passengers.  It's weird to me but I know there are people that have no idea of what  ship they are on.  They just think the name is "Royal Caribbean".   To have two or three docked at the same time?
Here's hoping there's not two Oasis class ships at the same time.....

I have to laugh..... Royal's IT dept couldn't  just add a port without messing up my whole cruise planner.  My excursions are now showing up under the wrong port days.  They have us visiting the pitons in Barbados.    I'm sure they will eventually get it sorted out.

It really is!  Just curious why they would add a port.   I could sail around in a big circle right now and call it a great itinerary.   As long as I have warm weather and sunshine I will be happy.  It has been a long winter.

On our NCL Escape sailing the my time dining seemed to take a long time.  Now I do not remember the seating situation, but we were not sat near empty tables.  The food came out when it did.  I just figured it was normal and they were letting us enjoy our drinks with our appetizers.  The one glaring issue that I had was on our last night and the dessert, vanilla ice cream sandwich cookie thing, that was melted into a puddle of vanilla.  it was sat down in front of me and I was told to "enjoy".  I looked back dumbfounded.  How was that actually served??  Anyway i asked for it to be taken away and just went to the self serve station in the Garden Cafe.  The overall dinner was not ruined for me.  The food was amazing all week.  But, I just couldn't/can't believe the server tried to leave that mess for me to eat.

You can ask for your dessert to go if needed.  Save it for after the show to eat on your balcony or other nice place on the ship.

This will be our first time on RCCL, but as experienced NCL cruisers with the Freestyle dining, we found as mentioned above, if they seat you in a crowded section, the waiters are definitely more taxed and the meal took twice as long. If we see the center of the dining room is mobbed, we ask to sit in a less crowded section (towards the back or in a corner), and found we can be in and out in 60-90 minutes, depending on our desired pace, and it was less noisy and easier to have and hear dinner conversation.

I there are different ways to comprehension and understanding.

If EVERYONE senses the danger of an open window EXCEPT this one person, how can the entire world be designed to accommodate this one person?

The ADA states that "reasonable accommodation" should be made for the handicapped. I would say a 40+ inch vertical distance and a 20+ inch horizontal distance to the lip of a window, before you fall, is pretty reasonable. It would take a concerted effort to over come that barrier that a reasonable person would not attempt.

I, for one, don't see how the "color blind" defense will hold up scientifically, in a court of law. A color blind person can still distinguish between different shade or tints (clear & tinted, lite or dark) of the window panels.

I vote grandpa goes to jail and no money is paid to the family. I don't think there will be an out of court settlement.  It's like dealing with terrorists or extortionists.  If you give in, you just invite more of the same.
