The actual error message that comes back from the server that forces the "sorry" popup is that the reservation is locked.

My thanks to all who commented! I hope your issues with Cruise Planner are resolved soon @WAAAYTOOO and @SpeedNoodles.  That is one part of the RCL process that continues to work on  my end.

I cannot get into any of my Cruise Planners online.  I get the "Sorry for the Interruption" error.  Big PITA.

I just tried in incognito mode and couldn't get in, either.

Vision of the Seas, 2000 - closed loop Alaska from Vancouver.  
That sailing spoiled us and nothing may ever match up. Maybe it was because it was our first, or maybe it was the humongous pod of hundreds of dolphins that raced along the ship one afternoon on a sea day - a sight that even the crew had never seen (everyone, EVERYONE, dropped everything they were doing to race to any starboard-side window to see them.  We were having lunch in the main dining room, and all thoughts of lunch were abandoned - guests, waiters, head waiters, everyone.  And Alaska is just so beautiful anyway. Mr. SpeedNoodles isn't impressed by the Caribbean at all but will go just because he likes being on ships.

I was able to check in for my 10-3 and 10-10 Allure sailings but not yet for my 9-12, 9-17 or 9-20 Mariner ones.  Go figure

I interpret it to mean that if you are unvaccinated, or want to get off the ship with someone who is unvaccinated, then you need a shore excursion.  If you, and everyone getting off the ship with you, are vaccinated, then you can do what you want.
This seems to jive with what Matt has shared about his experience on Adventure. 

I have those hooks too.  Only thing you have to be careful of is that they will attach to each other and it makes for a big mess if you get anything else tangled up in there !!  Good hooks though.

That IS very lucky.  Mine expired right in the middle of the COVID shut-down and of course, they did NOT waive my in-person interview and they were not taking any appointments during the shut-down.  They extended the deadline to renew but in the meantime they had accepted my payment and they weren't extending THAT deadlne....  Then when appointments finally did get going again it was next to impossible to get one...even in the DC area.  Add to that the fact that we were in the middle of moving.  I had resigned myself to the fact that I would have to start the whole process over again once we got to FL (and most likely pay the fee again !!) but someone on one of the blogs suggested checking the appointment calendar EVERY day just in case there was a cancellation.  Of course, I figured this was a complete waste of time and had very little confidence that it would work....but as usual, I was wrong.  One day I checked the calendar and there was an appointment available for the very NEXT DAY !  I gobbled it up and lucked out to get my GE renewed before moving to FL....not that I'm going ANYwhere that would need GE at the moment....but I have it if I need it !

A few weeks ago, Michael Bayley said he was expecting an update from the CDC that if 75% of guests were fully vaccinated then the mask mandate would be dropped for vaccinated guests.
That was over the July 4th holiday, and no update yet. So who knows.  But it sounds like that idea was at least on the table.

Ive booked a B2B with a friend in november. She's a nurse and in Denmark all frontline personal got the 1. shot with astra back in march but then astra was taken out of the danish vaccine programme 3 weeks later together with J&J so all those ppl got 2. shot with pfizer. Here in Denmark we were told that the mix those ppl got was actually better protection against mutations than 2 shots with pfizer. Hope RCL changes their view about mixed vaccines soon or they will get a wave of new cancellations. 

I hope so. My wife is furious  at Royal right now and she's made up her mind.. She's  had enough and won't cruise anymore.

Renewed mine back in January along with my Global Entry.  Passport took 4 weeks and I was lucky enough to have had my Global Entry renewed without having another in-person interview.  
 

And I’m envious that you HAVE a mane.  Never had the kind of hair I could grow.

Independence of the Seas...  9 Day Holiday Cruise in 2017...  we were hooked!!

Thank you for sharing your story - I couldn't agree more - I think we'll cruise forever now due to how special it is to us, same with our children in the future! 

Check in is not available for my September cruises out of Port Liberty, but I have received RoyalUp emails for both Sept 19 and Sept 26 cruises. Five days ago I was able to submit bids and I received emails that my bids were received…and then yesterday I received RoyalUp emails again…for the same cruises…with no indication that I had already bid so I placed them again. Again I received the acknowledgment that my bids were received. Strange.

Like any port, I think the issue is just when a cruise line is prepared to initiate a test sailing and of course the rigmarole of getting CDC approval.
It is my opinion, there are "bigger fish to fry" by getting ships sailing from larger/popular ports.

Same here..we will be on Star Class next month with our kids 8 and 9 yo.
They have been on cruises before but first time on Star class.
 
They typically go to the kids club at least once while daddy and mummy head to the spa. But with covid, we know there are capacity restrictions on kids club numbers so waiting to see what those are and if we will get first dibs through our Genie...we will report back on any special kids experiences ?
