This is actually very common across the community. I've heard it announced in Airports, etc. My mom is in recovery and it's helpful to know that when a craving comes through, as they do at the most random times, she can request support.

My wife said, if she's not able to get the 1st dose information receipt, she's not going.. 😢
So i guess we're holding off in cruising until it all changes.

We ordered some this afternoon and saw the big expiration date announcement that looked just like posted above.

Since we board on Jan 30, they will work for backup tests if our local ones fall through.

Side note: At the beginning of this month we each took a CVS test for a cruise. My results came back within an hour. My wife’s results came back inconclusive after 7 hours. Without a home test, we would have been scrambling to find a test in Miami the next day.

Parking was included as part of a Stay and Sail (probably not the correct name of the program) program where you are allowed to leave your car on site during your cruise. The hotel offers a very good shuttle to the port and then back to your car after the cruise.  I will look up the name and address of the hotel when I get a chance. It’s not a 5 star hotel (Best Western as memory serves) but we always felt safe and comfortable when we stayed there.  We always went over to Fells Point for oysters when we were there.  I miss that part !

Last option is for her to visit a Service Ontario location and request the information.

WAAAYTOOO reacted to IRMO12HD in S2S Covid Testing
Just wanted to relate my experience on Freedom.  Checked in with Guest Services yesterday (Day 1 of 4-Night cruise) to arrange for a COVID test on disembarkation day for my upcoming S2S cruise on Oasis departing December 5 (Freedom gets into Miami the morning of December 3rd). At first the gentleman in Guest Services was kind of insistent that they couldn’t help me as they don’t do COVID testing on Disembarkation Day.  When I pointed out that RCL specifically said they would provide a test if the S2S cruises were within 3 days of each other, he gave me an Abbott Binax Now (proctored) home test, with instructions NOT to open it until instructed.  YMMV, but I’m very happy that I pursued it with him, and that he was able (and willing) to help me.

Cruise Day Part 2: All Aboard!
Some more pre-boarding thoughts and observations
Bag Drop to the Right (yellow carts, guys in white hats)
Bathrooms to the left of the Entrance Doors.  The Key and General Boarding were to the Left; suites line to the right
    Getting onboard:
30 minute walk to Carnival terminal and back; in line at 10:30. The Key line area was pretty well marked; as I came up, someone asked to see my Set Sail pass; at first they wanted me to go stand in the growing line by the wall where they were sorting people by their arrival times — but then pointed me to The Key line, where I was the second “group” in the line.  The other “arrival time” lines were sorted out in short order; I’d guess there were 50-60 people in the 11:30-12:00 group.  Our group entered the building at 11:00 — sea pass, Vax card, Covid test results at door; Up escalator; Vax card, passport check and picture, then on to the Security check.  Surprise!  Had to empty my water bottle, just like at the airport (any open liquid containers is what I was told, so I guess maybe an UNOPENED bottle of water might have made it through?  If you tend to get thirsty while waiting, just be prepared.) and then passed through, up another escalator into the Waiting area. In The Key seating at 11:15
Boarded the ship at 11:45.  And yes, I had misty eyes and a quaver in my voice!
One problem in the waiting area was water.  You couldn’t take opened drinks (I.e., water bottle) through Security, but there was no place to refill it once you got to the seating area.  There were vending machines, but I don’t know if they were working or not.  Fortunately, we only had a 1/2 hour wait, but I was getting thirsty.

    Update:
Finally reached someone at Peel Public Health who knows what I'm talking about.  This person had recently handled a request for the same situation "missing does information".  Since my wife is missing her 1st dose information sheet, I gave them what they needed. (my stress level is down a little now). He sent a request to their internal data team to send(via email) my wife's 1st dose information ( ETA 2 to 5 busines days).  Crossing my fingers.  Stress level is much higher..

Alberta’s new QR code for domestic and international travel does not include the administering physical or medical services provider which is a requirement of Royal’s proof of vaccination.  I reached out to the executive office and provided a copy of my QR code for clarification and this was their response.
Since your vaccination card does not include the administering physical or medical services provider, we highly recommend for you to bring any supporting documents to ensure you have a smooth boarding experience.
I am not sure whether Ontario’s QR code shows this information. I obtained this information from our our public health unit and will take it in addition to the QR code.
BTW, We checked in on Nov 4th and our vaccination status switched to validated last week.

Maybe not a suite related comment…but regarding boarding issues…..
There are always things that can delay boarding which may cause a back-up at the terminal.
In October, I was on a back to back on the Oasis where we had to stand in a line in the customs/luggage hall for over an hour because US Public Health did a surprise inspection. They want the ship empty of passengers when they inspect. That caused a backlog in the terminal.
Pre-pandemic, we’ve had boardings delayed because of surprise Coast Guard inspections. We watched as all the crew, wearing life jackets, had to man their evacuation stations. That took a few hours.
I’ve also experienced a delayed boarding because a couple partied too hardy on the last night and wouldn’t wake up to answer their phone or their door. Eventually security had to go in and wake them…and then wait while they packed…before they could get a zero count. Thanks a lot.
And of course there are the usual late arrival issues when the ship is delayed due to weather, current or emergency situations.
Bottom line…I always pack a hefty dose of patience for boarding day.

We book Jr Suites as our first choice.  On Quantum class ships JS's have both a half bath and full bath with tub/shower.  If you get a Quantum J4 JS you get a half bath and full bath with a tub and separate shower with a rain head.  We booked a Grand Suite around 10 years ago when RCCL used to do the Mexican Rivera cruises and while it was nice it was over the top for our needs.  I guess if we had a larger income they might be a regular thing for us.
As an aside, I see RCCL has returned to the west coast and Rivera cruises with some other itineraries as well.
We got preferential boarding when booked in a JS on Symphony out of Terminal One in Miami.  On Explorer at Fort Lauderdale Port, booked in a JS, we were turned away from Suite boarding and directed to Diamond boarding based on our C&A ranking.  So,  it depends.  My advice is try for Suite boarding and see where it goes.

WAAAYTOOO got a reaction from ctigerk in FDA approves Pfizer’s vaccine for ages 5 to 11. Will Royal makes changes?
Unfortunately a while back they changed the vax "recommendation" to a vax "mandate".  You can no longer cruise unless you are fully vaccinated (eligible ages apply).  Florida is not enforcing the "cannot ask for proof of vaccination" so it's utterly useless.  They keep making fake indications that they are going to fine companies (cruise line included) who ask for proof of vaccination but it's only bluster.  The Bahamas and St. Thomas recently extended their prohibition for unvaccinated passengers but even if the cruise is going nowhere near The Bahamas or St. Thomas Royal is still requiring fully vaxxed.  Absolutely stupid.  I hope the vax mandate is ended soon too but I'm not holding my breath.  Thoroughly disgusted by all of it.

WOW.  That's a real disappointment.  They should just reinstate the reserved section and be done with it.  Arriving 45 minutes early defeats the entire prospect of priority seating.
