    Does this email look sufficient to guarantee they won’t say later that we just didn’t show up and cant get a refund?

    The 20 points for 5 nights in a suite is the biggest reason I agreed to still go, even more so than the credit they offered.  We’ve spent so much money on suites since early 2019 when we only had 21 points just wanting to get to Diamond Plus and 20 points on this cruise plus 28 points on our February cruise will get us to 178 points.  When I really thought about it, it wasn’t worth the money we’d have to spend to make up these 20 points later.

    Highly annoyed by this. 
    On one hand, we were already bringing masks with us for the cruise.  It's not like we have to get a test on embarkation day now, versus 2 days prior.  Or PCR tests only instead of antigen.  You just have to wear your masks more of the time once onboard.  It could be much, much worse. 
    On the other hand, I'm sick of this "health theater" nonsense.  Unless its an N95 mask, its not preventing squat.  Public health, and the collective population's commitment to it, is an interesting paradox.  The administration's promise that getting vaccinated will allow us to get back to doing the things we used to do, hasn't materialized.  I don't want to spend my vacation under siege.  If I am hassled by staff in between bites or sips, I might lose it. 
    I have 2 short solo cruises booked in January, both after the seemingly-arbitrary end date of 1/5.  These sailings will get me to Diamond Plus.  If that wasn't at stake, I'd be cancelling them both as soon as the new protocols are released, and demanding a refund.  I'm done.

    After I posted about it on Twitter with Royal tagged, they made us an offer we couldn’t refuse to still go on the cruise tomorrow …… since what they did when I called technically didn’t cancel the cruise and just put in a refund request and refund approval in the notes if we did a no show.  So, we’re still going to go on he cruise tomorrow now.  We can wear a mask all the time inside for what they offered!

    The girl I’ve been taking to at Royal CLAIMS she cancelled it for a full cash refund ……. But says she can’t sent me an email verifying that ……. The reservation still shows active ……. I’m supposed to just take her word they won’t just say we didn’t show up …… I’m waiting for a supervisor now …….. I want actual PROOF in an email saying they cancelled it and I’m getting a refund!

    I called and cancelled and posted my annoyance with the LAST MINUTE protocol change on twitter.  I DID NOT ASK THEM FOR A THING other than my REFUND  ……… They’re the ones who contacted me AFTER I cancelled ….. we had already completely unpacked ……. But I’m not an idiot …… I wasn’t going to say no to what they offered.

    I’m sorry that some of you have had your travel plans disrupted because of CDC demands and the cruise lines having to jump thru hoops to please this bloated government bureaucracy.  I’m also sorry that you voice your disappointment only to be judged by a few for sharing.
    I hope things work out for those of you who don’t want to sail under the current conditions. You, and RCI, have been put in a tough spot.  I wish you all the best.

    Carrying a drink doesn’t work ……… on our October and November cruises if you walked inside around with a drink you weren’t drinking at the time and weren’t in a vaccinated only area they’d yell at you to put your mask on ……… now you even have to wear a mask in the vaccinated only areas unless ACTIVELY eating or drinking

    ^^^^ ‘THAT RIGHT THERE is the main reason I got so pissed off with this change ……. I swore I’d never let my 10yo son get the vaccine even though we did and also since he already had Covid in the spring and it was nothing for him but a fever ……. But I let him get it because he wanted to be able to hang out everywhere with us on cruises like we used to and not have to wear a mask in those places as well ………. TODAY, he became  what Royal considers “fully vaccinated” ……. Then this was thrown at us out of left field at the last minute before our cruise tomorrow

    When my spouse had to wear a mask for work, he had horrible headaches every day for months within the first 2 hours of getting there that wouldn’t go away until the following morning ………. Then he’d go to work and there was the headache again.  But he never had headaches on his days off.
    Whatever is right …….. it’s not worth spending thousands for him to have a miserable headache all the time on a vacation because we have to have masks on all night every night to hang out at the bars and clubs unless “actively” putting food or drinks into our mouths at all times.  No thank you!
