Once a drunk guy asked my husband if he would consider swapping me for a bottle of Guinness... happy to say my husband isn't big on Guinness ?!  Thanks folks - one more subject I'm feeling better about.   Happy drunks are not a problem.

Wow, I bet they were annoyed!  I just watched a video about a person demanding their cruise money back for being served burnt toast? I think having your prepaid drink supply withheld, or being banned from your cabin is more reason to complain!  Of course they asked for it, by being drunk and disorderly.

I'll echo what just about everyone else has said. Besides a little loudness here or there I've never seen anything.

Years ago, Mother and daughter was on the same cruise with us. Either her daughter finish collage or just turn 21 not sure. The daughter was very drunk on the excursion and her mom have to drag her on board. I also saw the same person drunk on board also but her mom took care of her. She was just a little loud but her mom was there so it all good.
I was a little drunk myself last Anthem cruise but not by intention. I had the iFly scheduled so I hold off on eating and drinking anything before the iFly. My stomach really empty after I was done the iFly, my husband decided the Diamond happy hours will be over soon so we need to get drinks. So I drank before I eat(don't do that). I was not loud just a little too happy (no I did not hug anyone). End up  too much too drink got me and my hubby to the next cruise, we booked another cruise Symphony OTS. Not sure how but somehow we managed to get the correct date. Then we just went back to our room and sleep.

I think, in addition to the drink packages, one has to also realize that it's easier for people to spread the word about things. 15-20 years ago, if someone got drunk on a ship and cause an issue, few people outside of that ship ever really heard about it. Now, someone can post their experience online and blast it to thousands and thousands of additional people.
It's kind of like network news...are bad things happening more in 2019, or are we just hearing more about what has always been happening? I think the latter.

Only been on two cruises so far, third one coming up in a couple of months. But no unpleasant incidents at all for me on either, and I was wandering the ship a lot at night on the last one (courtesy of regular after-dinner iced coffee with Bailey's), wandering from the pub to the Schooner Bar to the Music Hall. Just lots of people having a good time and enjoying the trip.

We have seen a few incidents over the years that were taken care of immediately.  All in all you will be fine.  The best story we heard was a few months ago friends of ours were on a cruise and this guy did not show up for muster. They went to his cabin and he was belligerently drunk.  He was escorted off the ship.  Nice cruise HUH.

In my six cruises, I've only ever been a witness to one incident ..... it was on the pool deck during the belly flop contest on Grandeur ..... those security personnel swooped in like Ninjas and "escorted" those involved out of the area so quickly, unless you were paying attention, you never would've noticed it ....
    Very impressive.

I can't drink alcohol... if I drink even a little bit I get what I discovered are called "cocktail headaches".??

I've never seen any problems with the "over-served". Just people having fun and not even getting all that loud.
Thankfully, I have also never BEEN a problem after being "over-served"

My daughter and I had a drunk lady ask if my daughter's breasts were real and then touched them to see. Don't worry my daughter is 25, plus her dad was there in case it got any weirder.

I have been on 14 cruises on different cruise lines. There are always drunk people. Most are happy drunks, talking to loud and just having fun. I enjoy them. One of my favorite things to do is to sit with a drink and people watch. You will run into a few who invade your private space and are a little bit to loving (you know the drunk person who loves and hugs everyone), but still no issues. I only saw security get involved one time. So don't worry.

Really shouldn’t be a concern at all for you.  I’m surprised that I don’t see more people who have had one too many but I RARELY do.  I think the clientele on RC is a little different.  Not judging other lines but I think it’s part of the reason.

The types of incidents that make the news are few and far between.  Things can happen with or without alcohol when people perceive someone has done them wrong.  On an increasing basis people are easily offended when they see something that isn't their way of living.  A few people drinking and talking loudly in a hot tub is just good fun and enjoyable to some people but downright outlandish and god forsaking to someone who doesn't drink based on their religion.
I was on a cruise over Super Bowl and didn't observe any outlandish drunken behavior or fights yet people went into a FB group to complain "drunken people were all over the place wreaking havoc on their vacation the whole cruise".

Security steps in pretty quick and usually most people won't even know there is a problem.  In May one lady who we were friendly with lost her alcohol package for 24 hours because she could not make it back to her cabin alone and security had to help her.  She is elderly and enjoyed a few too many.  She waited out her 24 hours and then was more careful.  She really is a nice lady.  We've heard stories of others losing it for the rest of the cruise because they caused and issue.
They will turn over people to local police at the next port or the home port if they cause an alcohol related issue.  December 2019 a guy and his step-son got into it when the step-dad was pretty lit.  RCCL wouldn't allow the dad back in the cabin because the son was a minor, dad had to "find somewhere else to sleep" and when we arrived back at Ft. Lauderdale the police met the ship and did interviews.  No charges were filed.
Our second May cruise security spent the night outside a cabin reading.  The must have restricted the passenger to their cabin for the remainder of the cruise.

On 14 cruises I have experienced only one alcohol related problem -- the occupant of the room next to us was a drunk who yelled and shouted, often from his balcony.  He did this by himself, so there was no brawl or argument involved.  We probably should have complained to Guest Services, but we basically let it go.  Balance this against all of the nice people we have met, and I would say that our cruises have been rather peaceful...

Dogs are the best.  I love my dogs and I already have pangs of regret at the thought of having to leave them for two weeks.  It would be lovely to have your dogs with you everywhere, but sometimes it is in everyone's best interest, including their own, to leave them at home, with a reliable carer.  I wouldn't consider bringing them on a cruise.  I think they would be better off at home.  We live on a farm, so they have lots of company and room to move about and sleep inside in their nice warm pet beds.
