On Liberty we asked for a whole pizza, we told them that we wanted a supreme but with less cheese....they made it and it was awesome. This pizzas at Sorrentos are so much better than before....mmmm   It was not a busy time and I promised to eat every bite.

No, Symphony sauna and steam rooms are coed and for a fee...$30 per visit I think, they also offer a whole cruise package but space is limited. They do offer more than just a sauna and steam room like the older ships have.

This is why I try to stay on the ships that still offer this service/benefit for free...although they are slowly removing the free saunas and steam rooms from some of the older ships too...

I always assumed the sauna/steam room would be inclusive on the symphony of the seas. 
That's pricey per visit since I can barely do 10 minutes in there but absolutely love it.

Kind of ironic.  Cruise ships account for a very, very small number of ships sailing the seven seas compared to the tankers, container and cargo ships.  
"Fixing" a few dozens ships looks good, ignoring thousands of others is typical media and society in general.  
Go to marinetraffic.com.  How many cruise ships do you see versus all the rest?
Green = Cargo
Red = Tankers
Blue = Passenger (including cruise ships)
But let's single out the cruise ships because they generate clicks for "news" outlets.  Cargo ships?  Not so much.  

 
 
 

We have found that lately the specialty restaurants aren't that busy, in fact they seem to have people roaming the ship offering discounts to get more people to them....
It will depend more on the time you want to eat....it really depends on each sailing...they only way you can be 100% sure is to book online.

Cruise ships have been getting a lot of bad press lately, I think these new more efficient ships are the industries way to show they are doing something about the issues. I also think that some people need all the bells and whistles to cruise so this attracts more customers, especially the ones on the fence about trying there first cruise.
Kinda 2 birds with one stone effect.
 

I was just in San Juan a few days ago.  No unrest.  We were there until midnight and I was walking around after dark.  No problems, very normal.  

I absolutely LOVE the Oasis class, so far it is one of my favorites by far, but as much as I love that ship I also have to say that I love the smaller ones as well!  There are a few things that I enjoy about them especially how much more open they are and all of the views of the ocean from the sitting areas inside.  I honestly did not think that I would enjoy the smaller ships as much as I do, but now that I have been on several I can honestly say that I definitely see the charm in them, and will actually say that I find them a nice break from the Oasis class from time to time.  

Yes a big differance they give you more than double the bandwidth with Surf & Stream. But if you are only doing Facebook/Emails and messaging it wont make much differance, you will notice if using facetime or any video chat or watching movies online. 

I don't think I would be in favour of this. While on the surface it sounds like a good idea it would ultimately devalue the loyalty program as there would be many more people at higher levels in the scheme. The cruise line would then need to make it harder to obtain different levels as it would be to easy go get points.
You saw the same thing with airline loyalty schemes where they made it easier to earn points from credit cards and other sources. As a consequence they had to increase the number of points you needed to get a free flight.
 
 

We were on Navigator in July and I was surprised how late self carry started.  I think it wasn't until 7:45 and the reason given was customs wasn't ready.  Once disembarkation started, it was very quick to get off the ship.

If you are interested in an upgrade go straight to Guest Services and ask to be put on the list for an upgrade (the standard reply is we are sailing a full capacity). Once the ship sails any unsold or un occupied cabins are passed to the GSM/HD who can offer them to sailing passengers. Its something that sometimes happens but its first come first serve and they will contact you on day 2 with the upgrade cost and what's available.

Interesting question, now with the lifeguards I am sure they are much more strict. A few years back before lifeguards they would rotate shutting one and cleaning then open it and close the other....like what they do with the Jacuzzis. 
The mini golf was 9pm on my last cruise that had it, they actually take the putters and balls and lock them away. I don't think the ping pong has a time, like the shuffle board.
 

I should probably stay out of this but I don't think "grammar shaming" somebody who is angry is anything except treating someone the way they said they've been treated already. If a mistake was made (and don't for a minute suggest that sometimes a large corporation and it's employees don't make mistakes--or are rude) why not just say so.
I like reading this blog because it was so nice to see everyone's positive outlook on cruising. All of you love to tout how much money you saved, and the value of the dollar, and saving up your pennies to go on cruises. It's nice to read--so when someone is upset they've lost a deposit I"m pretty sure all of you would be pissed off if you were out $500 in 24hrs for a clerical error on your part. Anger can get the best of us, as clearly at has gotten the best of you at this person with their vitriolic language. Direct them and help, don't criticize them for their opinion....it's always our behavior in bad times that is a great reflection of who we are, and admitting when we are wrong and moving on....

CLIA routinely meets with different cities and regions to represent the cruise industry as a whole.  
If you were an owner of a hotel you would lobby against the cruise industry.  If you were a bar or restaurant that enjoys business from cruise passengers you would be in favor or cruise ship visits.
There are two sides to every story.  Some benefit from cruise ships, some don't.  
Nothing unique to the cruise industry.  I visited Stonehenge when you could walk right up and touch them.  Tourists got out of control.  People wrote on them, stood on them.  Traffic became a nightmare.  Roads had to be expanded, a visitors center was built.  Such is tourism.  

The 10 drink can be shared.  A couple can buy one card and enjoy 5 drinks each.  
Unlike the Deluxe beverage package, they encourage sharing the 10 drink card.

I don't know anyone that could endure the 9 months at sea working 7 days a week....but the day that blows my mind is turn around day...that day everyone works there butts off and the day starts a 4am for many. 
I am so amazed that these guys do such a good job and smile...they are truly amazing.

If it is the card for alcoholic drinks, from what I have seen it covers the same drinks as the DBP covers.  The cards often cover 10 drinks, but vary in price.  Sorrry, I don't have a good current price to quote you.  Maybe @Rob&Ana will chime in to help...
