Rob&Ana got a reaction from deButler in Diamond Lounge
Not sure this is the case as we are on Jewel and starting the next sailing they will start this new system. This is the info that we are being told at this time while onboard.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from OCSC Mike in Diamond Lounge
No, the info is that the new system (if there is a high count of D, Dp and Pin) will be enacted as of the next sailing. Like what's happening on Wonder.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from MamaShark in Royal Caribbean has laid off it's American Casino and Escalations call centers. Good Luck
This is really sad, slowly Royal is pushing out it's best employees. The same thing is happening on the ships. It really is too bad, the question is how much are we willing to accept before we look elsewhere....

Just got an email today stating they would not accept self administered tests for transatlantic sailings....
"Accepted Tests
Guests can take advantage of telehealth antigen tests to satisfy their pre-cruise requirement. Proof of a negative test can be the printed or digital results. Unsupervised self-tests will not be accepted for transatlantic sailings. To learn more about our accepted tests, "

Rob&Ana reacted to CrznTxn in GTY Cabin Room Assignment
Less desirable location is a relative term. As long as I am on the ship there is no undesirable location.?

Rob&Ana got a reaction from Neesa in Did I pick bad rooms? If so can I change?
So I have not sailed those specific rooms I have been on deck 2 of many Voyager Class ships and these are very quiet cabins, please note that there are no interior rooms on this deck so that's 50% less traffic down your hall....You are close to the elevator but I would say you should be OK with your choice.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from Moby Dick in Staffing Issues Query
We feel really bad for the overworked crew members. Our 3 weeks on the Serenade of the Seas was very enjoyable and it's always better to be on a ship then at home....in our opinion. Let's hope they can get the staffing issues resolved soon but in the mean time we will still keep sailing.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from LizzyBee23 in What's going on with royal?
We found a similar situation on Serenade of the Seas a few weeks ago. MTD line with reservations was very long at least 40-60 min for some people to get a table, lots of shortages and many bars closed because they had half the bar staff on board. The crew did an amazing job but I felt they were overworked and the managers and top officers were pitching in to help reset tables etc. We had an amazing 3 weeks aboard but maybe the solution would be to not load the ships up so much....maybe at 70% capacity.
I hope they are able to get more staff as the ones on board were being worked quite hard.

Anything charged to your Seapass card will consume your OBC (refundable or not).

Rob&Ana got a reaction from cruiserccl in Did royal discontinue PCR for international traveller?
We will be sailing on a few RC ships this holiday season and I feel confident that the text in the (RC App, under Safety) is quite clear that they will provide free of charge a test to international passengers that require one.

Rob&Ana reacted to twangster in Bringing Wine
Carry on is more relaxed on a cruise then a plane because it does not have to fit in an overhead bin like on a plane.
My suggestion would be to put wine in a roller bag style carry on. Two in one bag max. The other adult can also have two in their carry on.
Security often has a stream of people going through so two separate bags that have two bottles each looks compliant. One bag with four bottles raises a flag.

Rob&Ana reacted to twangster in RC releases protocols through March 2022
There is still a lot of spread out there in the wild. With cruise lines ramping up capacity a large outbreak would be a death blow. It's taken so much effort to get to the point where turning a profit is getting closer and closer. They simply can't afford to screw this up.
My parents retirement home went into lockdown today with 5 new cases.
Despite how badly we want to be done with the virus it isn't done with us regardless how much we want to pretend that isn't the case.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from Canadian-Cruiser in When do I find out my cabin assignment category GTY
In our case we have 3 bookings in Nov 21 and Dec 21 that were all GTY and they assigned the cabins the same day they sent out the cruise doc's (30 days before)
I have never received cruise doc's without the cabin number...so far...

Rob&Ana reacted to cruiserccl in Repriced and Royal will not give lower fare.
Two weeks ago, I found a good better price and contacted RCCL to get it re-priced. The rep told me that it would be higher price if she did it. I asked her to try anyway and she then told me that I wasn't eligible. I asked her why since I didn't think it was for specific group rates or anything. It was the new promotion. She refused to change it so I asked her to cancel it since my reservations were refundable. She said it would take 2 weeks to post (and sometimes could take 30 days depending on my bank). I asked her for a confirmation and she said they don't provided those.
Now, I'm concerned that my reservation was indeed cancelled, but I won't get my refund.
How long do they usually take with refunding a refundable deposit? Did she tell me incorrectly that it would take 2 weeks?
After I got off the phone, I went ahead online and booked it with no issue at the lower price.

Rob&Ana reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Repriced and Royal will not give lower fare.
I had something similar happen on a casino booking not long ago. It turned out that the casino agent was not applying all of the discounts. It took me a while to convince her that she needed to look at the discounts, but in the end, she applied all of them and guess what ?? Sure enough, a small price reduction !!

Rob&Ana got a reaction from Canadian-Cruiser in Repriced and Royal will not give lower fare.
We cruise quite a bit so I make a lot of calls regarding repricing and normally I have not had any issues until a few weeks ago. I had 2 cruises booked thru the Casino (still RC) but when I called about new price the casino agent told me he did not have the same price as I was seeing on the RC website (I do a mock booking with same conditions to confirm the lower price) I kept insisting so he said that he would pass the information to his supervisor and in 24 it would be resolved. I called the next day and the new agent told me that she could see I spoke with the other agent regarding the price drop but no info on pricing or anything...I asked to speak with a supervisor and they told me that they checked and the price today was higher than what I paid so they could do nothing....
I was quite mad as between the 2 bookings the reduction was over $560US. I did not take a screen capture of the price drop because the first agent assured me it would be resolved in 24 hours...big mistake....it wont happen again.

Rob&Ana got a reaction from Sharla in Payoff?
This is not the case, even if you pay off your cruise if there is a price drop and you claim it and it's before final payment you will receive it as a credit on your CC (the one you used to pay for your cruise) The RC agent has no control over this, the system will either process a refund or OBC depending on final payment date.
