Be careful with magnetic bottle openers as well. The wife had one on her key chain which was attached to her set sail pass. Took two trips to customer service before she realized what was causing it. She commandeered my aluminum one and no longer has that problem. Now I'm the one with a problem with no opener.

the actual announcement is the 2020 President’s cruise which will be sailing on 10/25/2020 on Allure to the Med, the week before the transatlantic.

Great choice.  I think you will find Port Canaveral the easiest port for transportation and hotels.  I certainly believe that!
 
Also a tip would be to drop your traveling companions and luggage off at the terminal the day of departure and then return the vehicle to the rental counter.  There will be a line for the shuttle back to the port but with 1 person and no luggage I have always been able to take the first one back, usually in the front passenger seat.

Hi Nick, sounds like you had a rough experience. I'd like to point out a few things that may be helpful to you moving forward;
-- Pricing on choosing a room, and letting the cruise line do it for you differs depending on demand. Usually, but not always, letting the cruise line choose your room for you is a little cheaper. Once you have chosen a room, you should be able to change to any room in that same category and not see a price change. 
-- If you have a US based booking, you can reprice at any time before final payment date. If the booking is already past final payment, you are stuck with your pricing.
-- I would recommend in the future that you choose and book through a reputable travel agent, because they take care of everything, including the hassle of calling Royal Caribbean in the event you want anything changed. Also, using a travel agent doesn't cost anything since they are paid by the cruise line.
-- If you want to use a travel agent, you still may be able to, generally bookings have a time period 30-60 days after they are made, where you can transfer the booking from Royal Caribbean to a travel agent.

That is true also, I think that was the main reason they stopped the low deposit cruises.

I have to disagree with this sentiment. Docking right in Hamilton or Saint Georges is an entirely different experience than taking tours or local transportation to those locations. From King's Wharf you have to plan ahead for what time you want to do something in either of the towns. Being docked there allows much more flexibility.

Not sure if the ship matters but on Harmony '18 we had MTD  for a group of 15 ish. We tried to link everyone before the sailing but that didn't work. As soon as we boarded the ship 2 of us who had all of the names went down to the dining reservations area and gave them our request. We had the same table/time/waitstaff every night and things went very smoothly.

I feel this post may be intended as satire (at least I hope it is). If not, it seems as though you enjoy a lot of the different amenities and dining options available on ships. the reason for the 30 minute chair rule is so that other guests may enjoy the pool areas while you are off enjoying the other amenities.

You can only hope this other person goes on a cruise binge and you become points wealthy. ?

Rules mean nothing to people who have wrapped themselves in a cocoon of self importance.

Actually, Cookie10*, you are the one who is unreal. You have a total disregard for the RC pool rule of "no reserving deck chairs/loungers" as well as total lack of respect for fellow cruisers. My question for you is, what makes you so special? 

Everything you just said only reinforces why so many people find such conduct to be selfish, self-centered, boorish, and classless.... not to mention rude.

This pretty much says it all.  You don’t NEED a TA until you need one.

In the end, the only person to whom you need to justify your purchase of anything is you.  If it makes sense to you, then you've made a good decision.
