Emerald -> 2 Free Drinks
Diamond -> 4 Free Drinks
Diamond Plus -> 6 Free Drinks
Pinnacle -> 10 Free Drinks (ideally unlimited, but understand capping it)

@OCSC Mike  Agree.  I do find it a bit odd that going from Emerald to Diamond gets you 4 free drinks, while going from D to D+ and D+ to P only adds in 1 free drink at each tier.  Since the requirements to reach the upper tiers is exponential shouldn't the rewards be too?  😉

My wife and I had the same general idea when we were sitting on 76 points. We live an hour from Port Canaveral so we booked the cheapest 4-nigher we could to get to Diamond before our next standard 7-night cruise. It didn't exactly save us money as we'd never buy the drink package but the open bar happy hour (this was long before vouchers) and other perks were enticing enough for us. You do also get to enjoy the short cruise of course; you're not just buying points.
Now that we're approaching D+, we're playing around with the numbers and trying to find "extra" cruises. The jump in perks is definitely not worth it in terms of dollars, but when you're getting close to a new level, it's hard not to be impatient. 🤣

Never had an ATS, but the walk is too long! Lol

We also want to congratulate you on your upcoming upgrade to Diamond Plus status! You are correct in your understanding of the way your status upgrade will be applied. As your status will upgrade at the end of your first sailing, you will be able to enjoy your Diamond Plus benefits on your next sailing. We do want you to be aware that for members whose status is upgrading on a back to back sailing, we ask that they inform the Loyalty Ambassador onboard during the first sailing of their upcoming change in status. Please let the Loyalty Ambassador know of this change and they will be able to note this change so that we are sure you receive your Diamond Plus benefits on the second sailing.

When we hit Diamond + on a cruise it was 2 days into a 8 nighter, we were at Chops Grille and I asked for something special moving to the next level, so at dessert had "congratulations" written on it!  Little things like this make a big impact on loyalty with us.

We turn Diamond on the 2nd night of our British Isles cruise next month!  We already have our next RCI cruise booked for October 2023 for a 10 night Fall Foliage Northbound.

For what it is worth my first cruise at Diamond they had left both mine and my wife's diamond pins in our stateroom on day one and we both had all diamond benefits loaded onto our cards.  I know she would have received benefits because of my status anyway but they left her pin and congratulatory card even though she needed three more nights to officially reach Diamond.

We just hit Diamond with last week's cruise.  The double points offer last year put us over the top.  Now we have to book our next cruise to take advantage of it.

that is a smart move, from what  i remember it takes about a week or two after the cruise for the days to hit. 

Now that's a NICE Star Loft.  For reference, that entire side where the wardrobes are located are completely MISSING on the corner units.  The upstairs on those corners are sooo small.  ...and the downstairs bathroom is split with the shower in 1 space and the a tiny toilet closet on the other side.  I really love those center SLS.  ENJOY !!!!!

@GregD, the Boss, Hubby, and I found this interesting. Why did all these people leave their luggage at their trunks?

Boarding day is always the worst elevator experience.

We don't bother returning with leftovers.  But I carry water all the time in my backpack (which does get scanned) and can't remember having a problem.  I sometimes take it off the ship to have with us, not use it, and return with it.  Other times I have purchased resealable plastic soda bottles on shore and brought them back in my backpack with no problems.  Packaged snacks purchased ashore should not be a problem.  Again put them in your bag and have them scanned.  Don't be walking in with them in your hands.  A half filled water/soda bottle in your bag should not be a problem.
