Yes, we use the Royal Transfer shuttle when we travel out of LA. It is well worth it.

We have used these test kits since August last year on a monthly basis and have yet to find a dud, especially on the latest orders which have newly manufactured kits. There is always the potential for a inconclusive test, as happened to my wife at with clinic administered test, but we have found these kits to be easy and stress free to use. We stopped using the clinic testing as we felt that our trips were for pleasure and early on were not going to take away a local test time for someone who needed it. Even though testing is now easier, we still use the proctored tests and include it as a part of our vacation cost.

Going from a Balcony to a JS is just a step up in room size. Not a lot of perks to go along with it unless you consider getting to board before the rest of the unknowing a major perk (I will say boarding early has become one of the wife's major points). It is the next step up with it's perks that you should be afraid of. Once she experiences that, there is never going back.

There will be open air parking provided by the City of Galveston next to the terminal, no parking garage or covered parking as of yet. After a couple of years, I figure that will be their next step. It would increase their revenue stream tremendously as some folks really prefer parking indoors or in a covered spot as the Texas sun really bakes the cars. Would be great if there was a multi-story parking garage with connecting walkway! Also the "other cruise line" terminal (1) has covered multi-story public parking directly across the street from them. I loved the Houston Cruise Terminal when it was operating due to the parking right next to the ship. They offered a pull-over cover for your car for $10 more and we used it every time.

We found on cruises that did not show up in the app you could go to the specific ship, as AshleyDillo said, and the cruise was there. It took the next day before our cruise properly appeared but we had the workaround.

Galveston converted the outside queue area into boarding times and when we left in March they started the process right on time with the 11:00am Suite and Pinnacle guests. When they were complete and the lines inside (they added extra lines instead of the forever "snake" line) were down, which did not take long, they let the next line in. We were fortunate in we had a Suite that trip and were on board within 15 minutes of letting folks in. This past week my wife and son left from there and did the same thing. Even with a balcony and 11:30 check in time they were on-board by 11:30. The staggered enforced times work and with the addition of a few folks inside, the curb to ship time has been greatly reduced along with the stress. That said, get to the port and get in your time line. Chances are not everyone will arrive that early and they will let you in.

Take a printed Set Sail Pass with you, it lists your Tier level, and it is as good as gold at the first bar you come to when you get onboard. That is 4 drinks in the half day you embark.

We have had 3 Jr Suites in all our cruising. The extra room is great and the early boarding was nice. We have one Jr Suite sailing coming up and the only reason was it was priced less than a OV Balcony. We will take it and the double points. Only 8 years away from Pinnacle! 😄

We have had an upgrade cost less than a RoyalUp and other times more. Only did a RoyalUp successfully once (thank you pandemic) and upgraded once. The third Jr Suite we had was through a Casino promotion during the pandemic that we could actually go on.

Two US outlets. Your stateroom attendant can deliver an extension cord for the C-pap machine and we carry a triple USB plug-in charger for our cell phones, tablets, etc. Not sure what your hearing aids require. You can also request a multiple outlet adapter if you have more than two AC required items.

Had someone on the wife's FB group notice that the Jr Suite on Grandeur in July is less expensive than a Balcony by just under $130pp. Had a Casino certificate from an earlier cruise that gave us a "Bonus Balcony" for that month so we called in to try it out. Sure enough the Royal Agent gave us the "downgraded" Jr Suite because the customer insisted on a cabin in a lower price range. 😃  She had to check with her supervisor as she could not believe it. Wonder what intern missed that one but works for me.😉

CrznTxn got a reaction from Pooch in Minor traveling with grandmother - consent form
When we took our grandkids with us without their parents we had the parent(s) sign and notarize a simple letter giving us permission to treat the child and sign for them on any activities that require it during our trip. They also gave us their insurance information and we included them on our travel insurance. We presented this at embarkation and held it with us on our excursions. We did not have to have to sign or notarize the letter as it is the parents who are giving permission. It included the cruise dates, cruise line and our names. When we picked the kids up they gave us the letter.
