Mike.s got a reaction from foxrunner in Transatlantic
And remember to choose the best side of the ship for you, if you like the sun ensure your balcony is on the side of the ship facing South during the crossing (assuming a transatlantic sailing)

It's not just the Australians, the British struggle with it as well.

Mike.s got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Oct 25, 2024 adventure of the seas 13 nite Orlando to Lisbon cancelled
I wonder if they're going to Amplify her, we've booked the return sailing on the 24th Nov, not seen anything re that sailing yet. We did get notification that our Voyager sailing on the 14th October is being changed to allow for maintenance and exciting improvements!!

Mike.s got a reaction from KJones in Explorer of the Seas - which plug adaptor to take - EU or US?
From memory take both as I think there are both types of outlets, re the pool towels you check them out against your sea pass onboard, so no need to pack some.

Mike.s reacted to Ray in Europe 2024? You'll need a visa for that...
This was discussed on a thread weeks ago. As was pointed out on previous thread Europe is just catching up with the US who have charged visitors for travel visas ( ESTA ) for years.

Mike.s reacted to baltodave in Vision Class and Radiance Class
This is an interesting topic I raised with the captain of Radiance during our recent sailing. The issue is that the Voyager class ships (and larger) won't fit under the bridges in places like Baltimore and Tampa. In addition, (as @bobroo pointed out) there are some ports the larger ships can't go to. The captain of Radiance did point out that there will be another class (currently named "Discovery class") that will be built in 2025 or later. These will be smaller (but I don't know if small enough).
On our recent Alaska cruise, we took Radiance and loved it. Last year, I was on Rhapsody (Vision class) for a Greek/Adriatic cruise and it was also great (one of my favorites was Montenegro). I'm not that interested in an "amusement park on water" and would rather experience the classic cruise experience and visit interesting destinations.

Mike.s reacted to Sunshine70 in Cruising with Dementia /Alzheimer’s
My husband has Alzheimers and we cruise often. We have been on 3 cruises this year and have reservations for 2 more. He loves the schedule of breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am always with him. We do not do the night life. We have never drank. We take short excursions to see natural beauty. He lives happily in the moment even if he does not remember it. Loved Icon of the Seas.

Mike.s got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in 2nd Icon Class Cruise Ship
So perhaps more ships coming TUI/Marella's way here in Europe. Not sure if they have any ownership of Marella (it's part of the TUI group) but TUI Cruises is a joint venture and Marella is currently sailing with 5 x Celebrity/Royal ships.

And ship builders always know when ships will be delivered. People sometimes don't even know they placed the order

Mike.s got a reaction from Carlos A. in Advice on how to escalate RC losing my luggage. Give me all your tips!
Have to disagree, you paid Royal for the cruise, which includes the baggage handling services, not the port. Your contract is with Royal so they have to be responsible. Either way as good customer service Royal should pick up the tab.

We did a very similar itinerary this February on Vision of the seas (didn't call at Falmouth) and we loved it. Go for it.
