In the county I live in we have a population of 292,406 people. Our Health Department has posted that there have been less than 5 people hospitalized for COVID-19 during last three weeks. Yet we are still stuck under what amounts to house arrest by our Dictator Governor.  

None of this makes any sense anymore.

I’m there with you. Just once would like to be going over the bay bridge at the same time grandeur is going underneath.

MIAMI -- President of Royal Caribbean Michael Bayley announced last night that he had ordered his Cruise ship commanders to "use all forces available, including ground forces," this includes passengers, to secure the beaches looking for secluded sites that would accommodate the Suite guests, not forgetting about those Pinnacles.    
The announcement came about 10 hours after Barbados ignored Mr. Bayley ultimatum to start withdrawing from beaches by noon yesterday.
The actual date and timing of the ground war had been tentatively decided for some time, Chief Marketing Officer & Senior Vice President Jim Berra said later, but had been subject to change depending on the weather or developments on the diplomatic front.
The preparations would have been stopped had Barbados complied with the deadline set by President Bayley on Friday, the secretary said.
Senior Vice President, Marine Operations Greg Purdy stated that he knows of the secluded location because he awoke from and all-night rum drinking binge, with no one is sight for miles.  Mr. Purdy stated that he knows how actor Tom Hanks feels when shooting Castaway!  It wasn’t until a fishing party spotted him on the beach and directed him to safety some 500 meters away. Palm trees and local vegetation had blocked his view from seeing Liberty OTS at the port.
Mr. Bayley said the decision to launch a ground campaign had been made "only after extensive consultations within our coalition partnership (Celebrity Cruise Lines)."
As the map indicated the island of Barbados is under heavy bombardment from RCI ships, with Liberty OTS dropping the ground forces at the port.

Neesa great post, I learned a long time ago, if you get thrown lemons turn them into lemonade. Always try to turn the worst problem into a positive. Come out and tell people we have a problem and we are going to make you experience even better and then show them how you are going to improve their experience. Positive attitudes always help.

Many, many thanks to this blog. We were scheduled to sail a 9 night Greek Isles itinerary in September in a 2 BR Grand Suite on Explorer of the Seas. This morning I pulled up this blog and thanks to @Matt I was alerted to the new LIft and Shift policy. I emailed our TA right away and he called me back and we were able to get transferred to a Greek Isles sailing  in Oct on Odyssey of the Seas for the same price. I feel less stressed worrying about whether we would feel comfortable sailing and we are sailing on the Odyssey for the same price. Since there are so few 2 BR suites I feel especially thankful to Matt and everyone who is apart of this blog, that I became aware and could act so quickly and understand the need to act quickly. Thank you, Thank you! This is why I enjoy looking at this blog and reading everyone's helpful advice. Because of that, you have made a worrisome vacation decision for this year turn into a vacation filled with excitement.

We are also on this cruise with you. I enjoyed reading your last blog especially about the Cococay Beach club area. I’ve already bought my admission to it for this cruise. Super excited!

We have stayed at a number of hotels in Baltimore but have decided that our best experience is with Best Western Plus, 5625 O'Donnell Street, Baltimore, MD  21224 (410-633-9500).  It is an old hotel and there is nothing fancy about it at all.  If you're looking for something stylish and in a hot part of town, choose something else.  But it has a "cruise and stay" package where you can stay there the night before the cruise and leave your car there.  They have an enormous parking lot and we have never had a problem with security.  There is a restaurant in the restaurant that is good, not great.  The cruise and stay package includes a shuttle to and from the port, which is excellent.  We enjoy going to Fell's Point on the evening of our stay and enjoy fresh seafood.  It is a short drive from the hotel but definitely not walking distance.  Our last stay was December 2018 and the rate was $159.99 with a total cost of $184.49 with taxes, etc.  This was Christmas week so I don't imagine it gets any higher than that.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from.  We have stayed downtown, at the waterfront, and everywhere in between and just feel that being able to leave our car at the hotel and the price meet our needs the best.

I was on a call today and we were told that in reality it is taking them more like 45 business days on the first round to complete the cancellations and while they have put that out for the other two rounds, they hope that they can do those faster.  Royal is supposed to be sending an apology to all guests as well.
Not posting this for people to attack on it, or comment really... Just wanted to post it somewhere so people would see this and maybe ask for everyone to be understanding of those that are working on all of these cancellations.  The person that you call in at the call center is not the person that is working on the cancellations.  Your Travel Planner does not have a way to speed the process up.  This is a Pandemic that was not planned for and everyone that is left working is working hard to process these cancellations.
