SweetHomeLady got a reaction from KimS in 23rd wedding Anniversary while on Anthem cruise question
I cruised with my parents for their 50th.  We bought a gold mini cake topper for about 79 cents at Hobby Lobby.  I had it in my purse and when the waiter brought out the cake for them I stuck it in while he was singing.  It showed up great in the photos.  You could do something similar for a room service breakfast or even a special cocktail.

They weren't being stolen, so much as left behind. The classic scenario is guest takes pool towel and goes on shore excursion to a beach. They use the towel and the towel is wet and dirty, so they leave the towel behind as not to be bothered with bringing back a soiled towel.
When you say useless, can you elaborate as to what you mean exactly? What aspect of the MDR experience was sub par?
I completely understand where you come from on this. It's why we opt for two smaller rooms, rather than one large room. Provides separation from the kids.

As soon as I saw it I recognized it as a mistake.  Possibly a summer intern mistook Refreshment package for Deluxe and set this all in motion.
I don't really know what consumer laws apply in Florida but I fully expect this clear mistake to be corrected (cancelled and refunded) and have no intention of squealing about it when they do.
Sure, of course I wish they wouldn't cancel them but I'll have no problem if they do.

I think everyone knew this was a pricing mistake from the moment it was spotted, especially if you have been following drink package prices.
I bought it at the $18/day rate for a couple sailings knowing full well it was a mistake and very likely refunded. Like they say in the lotto business, cant win if you don't play!

I guess what I'm having difficulty with us why people are so irate.  They knew it was a mistake and they are infuriated that it won't be honored.  I get that RC initially said they would, and that it's annoying....another reason for us to shake our heads at the IT department and how the different departments aren't talking.  But I'm not going to stop cruising royal like some people are threatening.  Good grief.  This company was immensely fair over my Cuba trip and this drink thing doesn't remotely impact my experience on the ships.  Wish people would get a little perspective.  Jane

Agreeing with @Matt here. Great to see once.
The great thing about the Two70 and this event is that you don't need a reservation for it. Its open seating or even standing. You can wander in and listen and watch to see if you enjoy it. Leave if you don't. The Two70 space is REALLY impressive for shows. I doubt you will be dissapointed.

I agree with what others said. Impressive presentation, but it's still a facsimile of the real thing.  Worth seeing at least once just to experience it, especially since it is music not offered onboard.

The virtual concert is a presentation within Two70°.  It's basically an orchestra projected onto the Vistarama screen and played over the sound system.
This picture doesn't do it justice but make no mistake, it's a projected concert on to a very wide screen.

I went twice in the last two years on Quantum.  It was pleasant.  It was interesting.  If we were just looking to relax it would be nice.  Now the "but"...
We love the live music on Royal Caribbean.  It was "captured" us 14 years ago.  As long as they continue to have great live music (Broadway, Standard shows, small Cabarets, live house bands), we will keep coming back.  Even on the small ships the RC Orchestra will play live intimate shows.
We like to dance.  If there is pre-recorded Ballroom Music on a great dance floor, we will still seek out the live bands.  If there is a musician in Central Park under the stars, we will  easily sit there for an hour.
The Virtual Concert was nice, but we will always default to live music.

The room service menu below has a lunch/dinner section on the left below and a breakfast section on the right below.
There is a $7.95 (plus 18% service charge) fee per order.  Order one of everything on the menu and it's one $7.95 fee.  Order just one thing and it's $7.95.  Call back 20 minutes later and add one of something else, it's another $7.95.  The fee is per order, not per item.
For breakfast only the Continental Breakfast is free (no $7.95 fee).  The American Breakfast section is subject to the $7.95 fee.
If you stay in a Grand Suite or above there is no fee for any room service order.
For breakfast there will be door hang tag that you can fill out the night before and hang on the outside of the cabin door.  They collect them overnight and deliver at the time you select (i.e. 6am - 6:30am, or 7am - 7:30am or 7:30am to 8am, etc).  They typically call first to let you know they are on the way (in the morning only).
If you purchase a drink package, you can NOT use the drink package with room service.

That is great and a substantial amount also! Don't forget to also check any cruise planner purchases you may make. You can easily cancel and rebook those also if any savings appear. Happy sailing.

Thank you everyone on this board who talk about price checking.  Saved over $1,200 combined on two rooms on Oasis of the Seas out of Cape Liberty after the AMP and received $50 more onboard credit on each room.
Also found out one of the rooms that we booked was being removed during drydock and had been switched to GTY.  Got that corrected as well.

I sailed in November 2017 and I believe NYC had its coldest winter for some years or that they said it was never normally this cold in October but it certainly was wooly hat weather. I  wished I packed a bigger coat! but departing from NY it was cold, to the extent where you would need a jumper to be on top deck. Being English me and grace my fiancé endured the cold and had the whole pool deck / hot tub to ourselves for the first couple of days. by day 2 the weather started to warm and day 3 was bright sunshine. if you can get robes from the ship I would certainly recommend that.

@kittysoul when are you going? just seen its January haha, I would certainly suggest a few jumpers. :)

When I sailed Anthem last October we were already getting down into the 40s for regular daytime temps. I already had the chinos I normally wear to dinner packed, and simply wore one of them along with a casual long-sleeve shirt for embarkation day as well as debark. That, plus my leather jacket was enough. By day 2, even though we were going southeast rather than due south, I was already in shorts and a t-shirt for wandering around the interior of the ship; a bit chilly for walking around the outside mind you, at least until the afternoon.
In January, it may take until the third day before you'll feel comfortable walking around the track in shorts and a t-shirt, but if you stick to the solarium pool area and don't plan on visiting the SeaPlex early on, you really should only need warm clothes for the first and last days.
Pinging @J_Keeble, as I recall he did an Anthem sailing in late November last year or year before, when we were having an early winter and there was already snow in the air.

When I cruised Anthem in December and January I experienced what I called "Long Pants" days and "Shorts" days.
The ship is heated so it's not like you'll need to bundle up around the ship.  Layers would be overkill, its not an Alaskan cruise.
Maybe through in an extra pair of long pants in your suit case.  You'll likely be wearing a coat on your way to the ship to embark and that's all I needed for those occasions i ventured outside on northern sea days.
I'm booked in early January next year.  I'll simply bring an extra pair of jeans.

As I start to shop for items to put together a wardrobe of clothes to pack for this New Years cruise this coming winter on Anthem, I realized that I need to have a range of clothes to cover starting in a New Jersey/ NYC winter...to the Bahamas and back to winter....  anyone have any tips on how to do this?  I am assuming layers are key?!   I know that a lot of Anthem is enclosed, but  was curious as to when people change over from their 'winter wear' to their ' i'm on vacation summer wear', during the course of the trip down the Atlantic coast ... ?

I was in NYC last month and visited the Statue of Liberty. You have to book through Liberty State Park site - they are the only official ticket providers - but you can choose to get a ferry from either Battery Park in NYC or from a location in Jersey (not sure of the name but info is available on the website).
Whichever departure point you choose, you don't have to return to it so it would be entirely possible for you to leave from Jersey, visit Ellis Island, Statue and then get the ferry to Battery Park to sight see in Manhattan before getting the bus or train back to your hotel. Or you could do that itinerary in reverse.
Also, although you have to book for a certain timeslot, we found that they weren't taking much/any notice of this. We had a 2pm ferry booked but arrived at Battery Park at 12:30 and were just told to get into the queue. It was pretty busy (it was Memorial Day) but the queue moved really fast and we were on a ferry by about 1pm.
We had started the day at the WTC Memorial and museum then walked down to Battery Park via Wall Street so can confirm that that's a very do-able option.

Statue of Liberty is not only accessed through Liberty State Park. You can absolutely get to Statue of Liberty from Manhattan (usually Battery Park), and in fact that's the way most tourists get there as most stay in the city, not Jersey.

Pinging @TheHobbys, as they just did this not that long ago and can probably give some recommendations.
You may want to see if your hotel is close to one of the PATH trains; if it is, that's by far your easiest and fastest way into the city. You can take it to the World Trade Center stop, and from there you have relatively easy walking access to Battery Park, Wall Street, Rockefeller Center, and a few other areas of interest. Not to mention the World Trade Center Memorial right there as you exit.

Statue of Liberty is only accessed though Liberty State Park on the Jersey side of the Hudson River. https://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/liberty.html . Kinda near the Bayonne port
As far a heading into NYC. grab a bus to take you to the Port Authority bus terminal on 41st Street. It is a few blocks from Time sq, the theater district, Rockefeller Center and Central park starts at 59th St. Don't be afraid to take the subway to the World Trade Center. It's no big deal.  @Matt grew up in the are too and may have more insight to offer.
