We were once on a sailing with a very large group of MLM 'entrepreneurs'. They were very loud and disruptive and took over a lot of spaces. Didn't let it ruin our vacation, we just found other places to be.

I can confirm that Canada has no vaccination/testing requirement at all for arriving into Canada so not sure why that was put into effect.

On a side note. I am cruising from Vancouver to Alaska in early may and need to show proof of vaccination because cruising to the US. My how the script has flipped from 2021.

With the pass you can go any day any time that they are open (usually 8-8). You can go multiple times a day. The picking a time at purchase is only because of Royal's low budget IT.

The price will be whatever the market will bear. With the price of 'add-ons' at Coco Cay I'm not holding my breath that this will be within my budget. There seem to be a lot of people out there with a lot more money than me. Either that or people are blowing the budget on 1 vacation. Myself, I prefer to go more much more frequently and not break the bank on 'extras'.

Pardon my ignorance but what reason (benefit) would the cruiseline have for throttling the speed?

The OP (one off poster) mentioned no ice show on their sailing (and maybe implied all ice show were cancelled) but no way are Royal getting rid of the ice shows when so many ships have the ice surface.

if you're staying domestic or Caribbean, you can use the pill boxes.

Make sure you have enough for the trip and then some for emergency. 

Check your destinations Embassy for meds that may not be allowed. 

We are from Canada and therefore travelling internationally for cruising. My wife has never had any issues with pill boxes,

This is correct. There is no problem with checking in at terminal it will just take slightly longer

We are still waiting for Tom and Mary in cabin 9632, Rueben from cabin 3126, and Estelle from cabin 1174…..” There a grins from ear to ear on everyone onboard when they hear the captain very publicly call out those who are late.

 

Those grins turn out to widespread laughter the next port stop when you here the following “the local authorities have cleared the ship and the gangway on deck 2 is now open. I would like to remind Estelle in cabin 1174, Tom and Mary from cabin 9632, and Reuben from cabin 3126 that all aboard is at 6:30 pm tonight….”

 

Allow me to say one more nice thing about Captian Marek. Capt Marek loves to sing. He has single handedly created a show that happens once a week in the Centrum; Rock’in With the Captain. It’s the band and six or seven crew members (all amateurs) who also like to sing and are shockingly quite good! They are wearing their work uniforms of cabin attendant, server, laundry person, etc. They sing whatever songs they want across any genre. The Captain…..his jam is 80’s Judas Priest!

We have sailed with Captain Marek twice now. On one occasion we were enjoying dinner in Chops for my wife's birthday when he stopped by our table to say happy birthday! I don't know if he does this with all birthdays on board (tracks down where they are having dinner through seapass card) but it was definitely unique and made my wife's day. 

On my last cruise a couple had one by their chairs in the solarium but it was very quiet so it didn't seem to bother anyone. I could see these getting annoying very quickly if people aren't considerate. Just use ear buds people

I thought someone found some points on the lido and was trying to return them to their rightful owner

I mean they already provide 4 or 5 complementary drinks.  The hors-d'oeues are nothing to talk about, the only thing you could miss is morning coffee

Embarkation day dinner is a gong show. After that you can expect no more than a 15 to 20 minute wait which is better than most 'land base' restaurants on a Friday or Saturday evening.

They only allow a certain percentage of seats to be prebooked. I would check at the box office on embarkation day or else go to standby

The app has some outdated stuff. One of the shows on a recent cruise stated it was for vaccinated guests only which is not a thing either.

Doesn't seem crowded at all. The only challenge is a deck chair on a sea day. The unreservable shows in studio B (battle of the sexes and quest) had huge lineups before they opened the doors. People were butting in line and we witnessed several heated arguments. Then when the doors opened and the dust settled there was still plenty of available seats for latecomers lol
