Spent my 40th in Miami and the Keys....I know very well what kind of trip you mean......BUY THE PACKAGE IN ADVANCE!!!  Not sure what amount your credit is, but I would think you wont be sorry.

We are definitely getting the package.. theres no question about that LOL We will get our moneys worth. When best friends of 25 years have the chance to go celebrate their 40th birthdays--- without the kids and husbands.... we will take full advantage of the free time! LOL

  2. Hi. I know it is almost always cheaper to purchase things ahead of time.. but does anyone have an idea about what the deluxe drink package runs if purchased on the ship? I have an OBC that I can use on the ship- that is not available by using the Cruise Planner. I know it varies ship to ship and date to date.. but I was just wondering a ballpark price per day.

And yes, I will get my money's worth if I purchase it on this trip. Its a best friends/girls trip/celebrating 40th birthdays...  yes, it will be that kind of trip LOL

    Thanks ?

  3. I have to say--- I am really starting to feel like one of you guys..... ???

I have 2 cruises under my belt-- well technically 5- --- 3 of them from when I was a kid and Premier Cruise Lines was around... Recently, I have gone on Majesty and Enchantment. I am now going on Harmony in March.... Mariner in April.... and Oasis in March 2021.

I always check this blog for anything cruise related.. whether it is ship questions, excursion questions, dining, etc. I always use Royal Caribbean Blog as my top resource! You guys are amazing!

Thanks for always being so helpful and full of information. This forum and people are always so great! You are truly appreciated! Especially @Matt!

Just wanted to say my appreciation  ?

  4. If you go to hotels.com and put in Port Canaveral/Cape Canaveral or even Cocoa Beach (zipcodes 32920 and 32931) any of the hotels in the vicinity are within a 5-10 minute drive to the port. There are a bunch of restaurants within the area. Restaurants at the Port: Rusts, Grills, Fishlips, Gators Dockside. If you have a question about the area, you can always send me an email. I live right here and I grew up here. ?  [email protected]

Welcome to the forums!  Sails do  happen frequently. But remember the price can always go up instead of down, so don't miss out. You can always cancel and rebook at a lower price if the price drops.

Yes, they do go up! I booked the CocoBeach club day pass for $70.... and I checked back since they are doing a new "sale" and it is now $199!! Crazy!! So glad I booked when I did! I can justify 70 for the day pass, I cannot justify 199. I look at it as paying a little extra for peace and quiet away from the busy water parks and its kinda like a specialty dining spot, since the food is supposed to be an upgrade from the rest of the island food.

Love your screen name!  I am a planaholic, too!!!

Prices go up and down and it varies by ship and sailing date.  You never know. I check my Cruise Planner almost daily (see I told you I was a planaholic ?).

I am a planner too! My family and friends tell me that I am in the wrong profession. I should be a travel agent because I do so much planning when it comes to travel!

I am always about getting the best deal too! Who doesnt love saving money!!??!! I dont mind checking websites frequently, if it can save me money. I have learned to book in the cruise planner- locking in a price and then rebook if you see it lower. This way, you will never pay more than what you originally booked.... and with the excursions, you know you wont miss out on one- since they can/do sell out.

Planning and checking back pays off  ?

I've been monitoring pricing constantly and saw that jump this morning as well. It went to $93.99 a week ago, sold out and then jumped to $199 this morning (still sold out).

People have been reporting the same jump on many different sailings from what I can see. I was already seeing that people thought that the $93 price was too high per person so curious about the pricing! Wonder if it was selling out on a lot of days so they decided to raise prices or if the Beach Club Cabanas weren't selling well so this is to push people to book those instead for the cost savings on the club passes.

I have noticed lately that the price of the beach cabanas have gone down. They are running at $999- and lately, they lowered to $799. Gotta love RC LOL

Yikes !!!  There must be more than 1 ship in port that day.  I paid $50.99 for our Beach Club day passes.  As far as I know only Anthem will be in port that day.

It has been consistently around the $80 mark... and all of a sudden today- it sky rocketed! I hope that we are the only ship that day- I am on the Harmony. But if we arent, I am glad that I have the passes already.. I will be secluded from the crowds  ?

The porters are the ones who get your luggage onto the ship.  Unless all of your bags are carry on size, you'll have to give them to the porters so that they can be put on the ship and delivered to the room.  Anything larger than carry on (about the same as airline carry on) will not fit through the  security scanners if you try to walk them on.  Plus you'd be stuck with all of your luggage until your rooms open up.  Just plan $2 per bag.  I had a porter in Seattle who took our bags so quickly and moved off with them that I never even had a chance to tip him, even though I had the money in my hand (and then I couldn't find him again).  They are not Royal Caribbean employees, they work for the port.

That happened to me last time too.. they were so quick, I never got the chance to tip them. I was like... geez, that was quick LOL

I'd pick Beach Club admission too

Did I read somewhere that they only sell 200 passes to the beach club? I was wondering how crowded it would be. I like the idea of it being a little more relaxed and quiet.. away from the crowds. .. at least for this cruise. Next cruise in March 2021, I will deal with "crowds" because I will have my 2 kids with me (7 and 11 yrs old)

  11. I completely know the feeling of your whole post- I am about 40 days out for my mother/daughter cruise... and then we have booked another cruise for March 2021 with my 9yr old and 5yr old. My 5yr old asks me almost every day-- mom, how many more days until we go on our cruise? I hate to break her little heart when I say- 400+ days out LOL It will be worth the wait though. She will be 7 by then and my son will be 11. These will be great memories!
