Our first cruise included Nassau. I'll say it certainly is not like the slick promotion photos and brochures. Then again, I worked my entire 25 years for the fire department that provided fire/EMS protection 'around the worlds' in Central Florida; most all my station assignments in the southwest part of the county. That area has changed over time and not for the better...........
We went to Nassau for the first time in September 2021 when we went on Adventure. We were most recently there back in February of this year. Even in that short timeframe, it’s changed.
After our September ‘21 sailing out of Nassau, we went back twice in November of that year on Freedom (out of Miami)and stayed on the ship both times.

My wife and I are big fans of guaranteed inside bookings.
We currently have three guarantee cabins booked out of five upcoming Royal Caribbean cruises. Two insides and one balcony. We also now have a balcony guarantee booked on another line, but that’s because the ship was changed and we’re waiting for the dust to settle to see where they put us.
We like the anticipation of getting our cabin assignment.
I guess the “worst” cabin we ever were assigned would have been an interior way at aft end of deck 9 on Vision, but we were still content just being on a cruise.
Nine out of ten times, we genuinely do not care where our cabin is. We really only choose a cabin when it’s a special occasion for us, such as the aft balcony we chose for our cruise out of Italy this fall.
Interior Guarantee Cabins allow us to cruise frequently now while still saving a bunch for retirement so we can cruise frequently then.
If you do book a guarantee cabin, keep an eye on prices for your cruise before final payment. Sometimes the price for choosing a cabin will pop up lower than the cost for the GTY. Heck, sometimes you can even find an ocean view cheaper. (At least here in the US)

We asked our youngest and his girlfriend if they wanted to do this instead of a cruise with us in 2025.
When they saw the price they thought it was too much for what it is.

There will be a specific time it leaves. It’s best to call Royal for specifics about your cruise (or go through your travel agent).
From what I’ve seen, barring any local events (like the Venice marathon when we cruise in October), the shuttle will pick up at the airport and from the “People Mover” at Tronchetto in Venice proper.
Here is a link to a thread with a lot of info about getting from venice to Ravenna.

I’m amazed at how much Nassau has changed in two years.

Glad your cruise is going well. I shared with my wife and we both agree that a yearly anniversary cruise is something we need to start doing.
After seeing your update in the wee hours this morning, I realized how wrong I’m doing it…I need to be just going to bed at that time instead of getting ready for work (yea, I left for work that early )

Wow. We’d love to do one (or more) of those itineraries, but in October 2024 we’re already sailing out of Southampton on a Northern Europe itinerary.

Last cruise we had to ask our cabin steward for a “door hanger” order form. The cruise before that, my wife “appropriated” one from one of the cleaning carts as we walked down the passageway to our cabin
For some reason, I feel like you can order via the interactive TV too.

One day every summer, my wife and I get together with some childhood friends and play tourist for a day in our own state. We go out to an island in Boothbay Harbor, Maine for an old fashioned lobster bake.
Some of the boats out there may very well be ones that catch the lobster you’ll eat on your cruise.

Be aware….there is a general strike all day on the 20th for air travel, and from 2100 on the 19th to 2100 on the 20th for train travel. Plan travel accordingly.
Here’s a link to the information. It’s in Italian. I’m not sure if the website has an English version, but I’m sure there’s a way to translate it.

We cruised out of Galveston just shy of a year ago and used Galveston Express for transportation. We were very pleased with them and will use them again if we take another cruise from Galveston. The whole shuttle process was simple.
We flew into IAH and flew back home from HOU.

If you need to get to the airport, there are buses that go between Piazella Roma and the airport. An alternative would be the Alilaguna water bus to the airport, but that is a lot longer.
I might have missed it, are you staying in Venice before your cruise or arriving the day of?
