Thank you!  I find that reassuring because in the terms and conditions it says that specialty dining photos are not included.  Since we are doing the unlimited dining, it would have cut down on our images by a lot ?

In the terms of the unlimited photo package the only things it says are excluded are private photo sessions and Group photography sessions

It looks like they were going be Mediterranean till October and then have a season in South America servicing the southern Caribbean. As South America was late to the game not surprising to cancel till November in Colombia as fatality rates in South America have outpaced even those of NYC.

I hope you are right!  I would think every effort will be made for the president's cruise to happen. On the other hand, Spain may be doing great but do they really want a bunch of Americans and Brits showing up??

And will those Americans be allowed to travel there. China is months ahead of the rest of the world and there’s no sign of removing the travel ban on leisure travel. The two countries are going even further with a battle on further cancelling flights from the other.

I think they will do the presidents cruise week before the TA and hopefully sail with guests back to Miami ?
btw Spain is doing fantastic  now very low numbers all round and some days zero deaths

I was thinking more of the possibility of an American Administration that isn’t exactly into globalization and may continue international travel bans we’ll into the latter parts of this year. You in the UK may be set to get into Spain, but may have more trouble being admitted into the US.

I did receive a long detailed email that my stateroom will show "guaranteed" for the next couple of weeks.  Apparently they need to do some rearranging in stateroom assignments because Allure won't be amplified.

Did you by chance have a spa balcony room? Those rooms all went GTY after that category was removed. They are slowly resetting them to their original room selection. It took mine about two weeks.

I really wish we could get more information about the EU because final payment date is fast approaching.  Never mind--my FCC paid that off in full but I want to use the FCC so I don't have to go through that ordeal again.   The cruise is November 1st.  I don't have my flights and hotels booked to Barcelona in advance of my trans Atlantic back to Miami.  There are 2 stops in Spain, 1 in the Canary Islands and one in Coco Cay and about 10 sea days.  I can live with Allure not being amplified.  However, if any port calls are cancelled or I have be quarantine for 14 days anywhere ... that would be a deal breaker.  I just need to begin making some plans soon.

Just guessing, but if I were a betting man, I’d guess that Allure’s Europe season gets cancelled and that the trans-Atlantic comes back empty. Knowing how crazy governments are right now, telling the CDC that a ship is coming back with 6,000 guests that have been potentially exposed in Spain probably won’t go over well.

  7. Even if they were ready to do it today like Disney did earlier this week, I wouldn’t expect it for the next couple of weeks. I’d guess they are still dealing with Alaska cancellations and then yesterday’s news of a Allure not happening in Galveston next year has led to a lot of upset people who aren’t keen on the idea of being moved to Liberty (sometimes in much lower category rooms)

LOL.  I am allowed to carry a letter for TSA bc I have had both a knee and hip replacement (my right leg lights up), now I am going to carry a letter stating my body temp is 99.6

As someone who travels all the time nothing pissed my mom off more than when her partial knee replacement (which didn’t alarm) got infected and they had to do a full replacement.

I have a fear of this also, not because of hot flashes, but because of anxiety/fear.  I am not someone with "anxiety" issues, but I know myself,  as I drive to the port, my mind will start saying OMG what if my temp is too high.  It just will create a downward spiral, with me over thinking it, thus my bp will go up, my body will react.

My husband and I have talked about this, because believe it or not my avg body temp is not 98.6, but 99.6.  It was the same for my Dad.  I have no wiggle room.  Add in a hot day, and fear, I am pretty sure I will be pulled out of the line.  I am actually thinking of when we finally sail to go to my doc and get a letter stating medically my temp is 99.6 if you do a forehead scan.

Trust me, I had my hip replaced @ 18 months ago.  They did the fore head scan and said to my doc/surgeon "she has a fever".  He turned and said do a temp in her left ear. They did and my temp was 98.6.  I was good to go.  It was only because he knew as my doc from my medical history that my body temperature is not "common" or avg.  Hence, why I am thinking I will have to take a certified medical doc stating my typical body temp is actually 99.6, not 98.6.

I would go a step further and actually have it sent to their special services department before arriving at the terminal.
The terminal staff aren’t well trained in these kind of issues and the simple phrase of “just check my file, it’s already in there” may get you to the cruise equivalent of “level 2 support” even quicker.

Those are great cabana prices !  The last OTW cabana I had at Labadee (Suites beach) it was &500.

I second that. Even though we will have access to the barefoot beach cabana, I’ve reserved an OTW one on the regular beach because the pricing has been so good and was worried about the Cabana inflation that’s been happening at a CocoCay. In the last two months it’s gone from 549-488-433 and down to 388 last week. So repricing it has been a pain but worth it.

I could see more tournaments that require registration and offer the ability to control the number of people at each  table.  Maybe less drop in play.  I would agree to a mask or might choose to wear a mask, but I generally go to the casino when it is less crowded.  I am not a big gambler but could see the value  of regular players wanting good playing conditions, hence more reservation-style play.  Just a thought...

There’s also a much easier way to control table game crowding that everyone keeps missing. I ask floor managers all the time to change a limit on a table to keep the person who is splitting 10’s away.
So what we might see is more tables that are a 25$ or 50$ minimum and that would certainly cut down on crowding.

My wife, kids and I go on a few cruises per year. We normally always do star class when available. We booked an Oasis of the Seas cruise from Bayonne for Oct 25, 2020 and had originally booked  Star Loft 1720 w/$300 OBC for booking while on the Anthem. In February my sister and her husband said that they would like to go on a cruise with us some day and had been saving up for the past year. So my wife and I started talking and decided to switch our cabin to the A1 ATS 8330 and surprise them with the Star Class treatment on their first cruise and they would only need to pay the cost for the 4th and 5th guest which came out to around $2500 for both of them. It also turned out to be about the same cost for us $13,500.

So, we call Royal to have them added and was on the phone for about 4 hours. In the end the CSR just wanted to get us off the phone and when we tried to verify everything was correct her reply was "It is, I have other people to take care of". A few hours later I start looking at our reservations and she put my sister and her husband as guest 1 and 2 with the balance of around $12k and my family as guest 2 - 6 with a balance of $4k. I immediately called Royal back and they said that because it was already in the system they could do nothing about it. So fine, I talked to my sister and they would just give me their part and I would pay the entire balance.

Here is where the issue comes in, because of Covid, there is no guarantee that this sailing will take place and my sister and her husband have already stated that this will probably be their one and only cruise as they do not have the money to do it regularly. So do I go ahead and pay the final payment, as we all really want to go on the cruise, and risk it getting cancelled with FCCs issued to the wrong people? I really hate how Royal issues the FCC to individual people and not to the person who paid the bill. Or do I not take the chance and just cancel and request a refund of what I've already paid, I believe I can do that until August 1st.

If you cancel it will be a future cruise credit coming back. You’d only get a refund if they cancel the cruise. This is where at TA is so much help as they wouldn’t have let this happen.
My suggestion would be to change the names of guest 1-2 to something else and yours and your wives, then after that have your names installed back as guest 1-2. The rule has always been someone from the original reservation has to remain, which in this case would be true.

Also. Company related as it was Celebrity, they accidentally put my daughter as guest 2, which would have screwed up the included perks. A simple phone call and five minutes later it was fixed.  I’m not sure why they are giving you a hard time here

Okay, point taken. BUT! those were party goers from STL and KC, at least that what was reported and the positive COVID case was from STL. Swim trunks and bikinis don't lend themselves very well to hiking, fishing, and hunting. . . ticks where the sun don't shine! AND! They weren't hiking, fishing, or hunting (three very good social distancing activities by nature).

The bad part is that it looks like those people even if from outside are still causing rising numbers throughout the state.

I’m due to sail on Allure of the Seas on 9th August out of Barcelona.

Just weighing up my options before final payment date as I honestly can’t see it sailing and don’t want £4000 tied up with RCI for next 12 months.

if I “Lifted and Shifted” to a similar sailing next year which RCI have offered to me - do they transfer my cruise planner purchases (drink package / photo package) to my new cruise (effectively same itinerary in 12 months time) or do they just refund them and you have to book them again at the prevailing rate?

    Thanks

If I were you I’d hop on moving that one before everyone else does. Room selection will be easier now.

Not Navigator of the Seas, but Regent Seven Seas Navigator.  She does use CPP's

What do you make of the list Paul? I thought maybe it was from a port, but Bliss and Joy for example will he in opposite sides of the US so there’s no shared port calls.
