I hope it takes less than a decade for Royal to bring another ship or 2 to CA. I’ve had to fly to Florida for all but 1 and was happy to do 4 nt cruises which gave us the opportunity to sightsee for the remainder of the the trip. Though I’m excited now by the idea of being able to have my 1st B2B! ?

There are two things that people really dislike.  When things stay the same, and when things change.
At least it's that way with folks in my profession.  ?

What about someone who has a weak bladder which may be triggered by the excitement of finally being close to getting on a cruise ship?
    Asking for a friend.

I'm in the rare minority that doesn't really care for Oasis class. We sailed on Harmony and just didn't care for it. They had to close the top deck due to high-winds on a sea day and it was just too crowded. While they do a great job spreading people out and there are SO MANY THINGS TO DO. It just feels so disconnected from the sea, it's a floating mall/amusement park and while I understand the appeal (especially for families) it's not for us. We love walking around outside on deck 4/5, going up to the helipad on Voyager/Freedom class and relaxing with drinks in the crown lounge area. On Oasis class the entire "crown" is dedicated to suites and suite amenities and we're not in that tax-bracket just yet.

Director of the maritime division at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Martin Cetron was interviewed.
“In an ideal setting where we don’t have an overwhelming fourth wave of variants that are unresponsive to our mitigation strategies, that if all things go well as planned...I think with following the guidance we laid out we can all probably get to a place of partial resumption of sailing in July.”

I was looking for Del Rio quotes specifically.  Not because I think it will make a difference, but because of the "theatre" (not something I can go to these days).
    ?
Here are a few of my favourites from the article:
“This impasse has got to stop,” Del Rio said. “The cruise industry must participate in the great national reopening. Every other hospitality travel and tourism sector has been allowed to operate and we have not.” “We were disappointed,” Del Rio said. “We thought it was a step backward, quite frankly.”
Del Rio called the combination of safety protocols and the vaccine requirement “just an unbeatable airtight set of circumstances that will make cruising a very safe vacation alternative.”
“I’d like to hear an argument why we couldn’t sail,” Del Rio said in an interview. “If everyone on board is vaccinated and following the protocols, there is absolutely no need for the conditional sail order to exist as it is known today.”
This is what a "Cruise CEO Super Hero" sounds like.
