True statement! I was born in Baltimore and spent many summers on the shore crabbing with my Poppop! My Mommom made the best crab cakes! Can’t replicate them. I’ve given up ordering them anywhere else...not worth it.

Oh man I forgot how much 11pm sneaks up on you on the last night when you plan on putting out luggage. My mom and I managed to speed pack everything in about half an hour while my dad slept. ?‍♀️ I’m completely exhausted right now and I know tomm morning will be a bit hectic followed by sitting around waiting so I’ll do the proper day 7 recap at the airport, but I will leave you with this. I’ve always wondered why they have stores like Kate Spade, Michael Kors & Coach on cruise ships. Then I found myself needing to waste $50 in OBC on the last day and well. One thing led to another and the good news is I DID manage to spend the $50. .......and then some. 

Your pictures are wonderful! We went to Romney Manor and Caribelle Batik when we were in St. Kitts 2 years ago (Regal Princess). The area was beautiful and the batik work was quite stunning! Watching how it’s done was interesting (a lot different than the way we did it back in art class!). Thanks for sharing!

It's no different than any business that changes prices of its products throughout the year. As an example, TV's at Best Buy are not the price on Black Friday versus today (unless you are reading this post on Black Friday).
It has become clear the Cruise Planner has become a major source of revenue. Cruise packages (dining, drink, internet) are currently making the cruise line insane profits. So RC isn't dumb, and they are seeing what the market may bare.
Keep in mind a very important thing when it comes to these packages....you don't have to buy them. Seriously. There are ways around it and if the price is too high, then skip it.  Vote with your wallet.

anyone heading out on Grandeur better be sure to stop off there. Timbuktu about 10 minutes away is a very similar crab cake (they’re estranged family members) but is usually less busy. 

My wife and I just returned today from a 3-day on Mariner and, being without kids for our anniversary, we attended our first Quest.  I told her I had heard many legends on the blog and wanted to see it for myself.  We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this to everyone (18+, that is) - well, everyone who isn't too politically correct or easily offended. Some of our items required were: 8 items of clothes tied together, a "pair of twins" (this quickly became just boobs), a SeaPass card for Jack or Dianne (as the song with these names played).  Glad I'm finally with the in-crowd on this one and can't wait to play again when we go on Allure in September.

We did an adult cousins cruise on Anthem, a group of 10.  4 people in the party never sailed on RCL.  They kept asking what is this show...we just kept saying, just go with the flow and you will have fun, nobody told them anything about the show.  1 cousin who never saw this before could not stop laughing throughout the entire show.  He went on Anthem again 6 months later with his wife's family that never sailed Royal.  He did the same thing, would not tell them what it was about, only to go with the flow.  They laughed just as much.
One thing I would say is that show usually ends up standing room only, so make sure you get there early enough if you are traveling as a group so you can seats together.

Was thinking the exact same thing. I won’t order a crab cake anywhere else but home. Everything has to live up to the standard of G&M in Linthicum and not much comes close. 

As a MD native, crab cakes just aren't the same outside the Delmarva area......

I'm very pleased with the door sign I ordered from Custom Cruise Wear.  Angela was super to work with and very customer oriented. I highly recommend them for door signs and they have a lot more than signs. My wife's sign:

I have decorated my families doors in the past, too. Graduations, Anniversaries and other special events (see below) have been recognized. I create my signs in MS Word, print on 11x17 paper and laminate. Then I use magnetic strips to adhere to the cabin door. I think it's fun and festive! ?  
That said I am not aware of a Royal Caribbean equivalent to Fish Extenders.
Below is an example of one of my "homemade" signs. This one was for my son and his wife. They now have it on their refrigerator at home. I guess they liked it, too! ?
 

I ordered this personalized door magnet for $9.00 on Etsy.  It comes with us on every cruise.  Although our last cruise it did not do its job.  We were awoken one night around 3am to a guy mistaking our room for his.  I thought our last name on the door would have been the first clue he had the wrong room.  I'm pretty sure the drink package was involved in that episode!  Anyways, I love our little magnet.  It hangs on the side of our frig until it can cruise again!
 
 

Oooh...it just dawned on me that I can decorate our door for my daughters graduation trip!!,   Royal didn’t have any room decorations for a graduate!   Yeah!,  jane

I was on her in January and I do not think she is showing her age, except for the propulsion issue currently (In January there was no evident problem).
Except for possibly new carpet, fabric, paint and adding the new restaurants, she is a pretty awesome ship (Been on her three times, 2012, 2017, 2019).

So appreciative for all the response to my original question! Learning more about the Ft. Lauderdale area...wish I could visit more often! 

I’ve always used Meclizine. Can buy it over the counter (under $5 at Costco Phamacy). Start taking it the day prior to cruising and then twice a day on cruise (with breakfast and dinner). Doesn’t make me drowsy. Can even have a cocktail, with no adverse effects! Good luck and have fun!

Cruise ships don't cross the land southern border between US and Mexico, so I don't see how closing the border would effect anything sailing-wise. President Trump isn't declaring some kind of Martial Law where Americans can't visit Mexico, you just won't get there through ports of entry bordering the US.

I believe the 100% FCC is very generous.  For me it will nicely pay for a 16 night Panama Canal Cruise.  Basically a free Panama Canal Cruise   
Sure I lost some OBC, 30,000 airline miles, a free specialty dinner and a free spa treatment but the 100% FCC more than makes up for that.  
When they cancelled the Navigator cruise because the Amplification took longer than expected they only provided 50% FCC.  
They have rarely provided 100% FCC plus a full refund.  So to say that isn’t enough, give me that plus all my promos or OBC as well, is not a reasonable expectation in my opinion.
