Not true..you only have to double the bid.  Makes it much more worthwhile when you've got 4 in your cabin to begin with, but not so great when you are solo.
One thing to remember is that the RoyalUp is tied to a single room.  For example if you split your family between 2 balcony cabins and then got a RoyalUp offer that included a 2-bedroom suite, you won't be able to combine the two rooms together into that single room.  You would still have to pay for both rooms.  You could get extra room keys so everyone could have access to one room, but only the ones on the original booking in the cabin that was upgraded will have access to the suite amenities.
I've only taken a shot at a RoyalUp once..upgraded from an inside GTY to an OV balcony on Freedom of the Seas Blog Group Cruise  Total price with the RoyalUp was cheaper than I would have been able to get a balcony straight up for my sailing, so I am extremely pleased with it.

I just booked it!! Looks like the new shows are only playing 1 time for the thanksgiving cruise but I booked it! Very excited! 

Just one of the pitfalls of post-AMP sailings, I suppose.  If enough folks complain maybe they'll throw everyone $25 OBC for pain and suffering ?
If they're doing a new show or adding features that have any of the components like Flight on Symphony, I can completely understand why they may not want to open up reservations until they are comfortable with the new sets and safety features.

They will bring on a lot of contractors to put on all the finishing touches while she is sailing back across the Atlantic for Florida.  But most of the big work should be done.  First sailing after a drydock always has the potential to be a little rougher around the edges while they get back into the groove of things.

Please, ask away!  There are SO many different ways to take a cruise vacation and a lot of it is tailored to what your family expects, how they're used to traveling, what they like to do, what they are into, etc.  Royal Caribbean has a very big product offering, even when you're just limiting it to a Caribbean cruise.  There are options out there where the ship is more of the destination than where it goes in the Caribbean and then there are smaller ship offerings that can go to interesting and unique places.  Then there are some itineraries/ships that offer a good balance between.

The themes are pretty standard on most Caribbean cruises.  While they are making some changes to the ship, most of the changes won't have a direct impact on activities or themes on the ship.  I would look at a current Compass from a Harmony or Symphony 7-night Caribbean sailing to get an idea of what themes there might be.  Usually I've only see things such as Caribbean or a white theme and then there's usually a 70's or 80's night or both.
I will be on that Oasis sailing as well so I'm pumped to get to see the all the new changes!
