dandi799 reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Itinerary Changes - Symphony?
Ok. Since I made that last post they HAVE changed the itinerary in CP. It now shows the new itin. Looks like it is officially changed.
UGH. Disappointed (Curacao is my favorite Caribbean destination !) but we will probably stay on this one. If they had shortened the itin from 8 to 7 days we definitely would have cancelled but since it's still an 8 day, we will most likely stick it out.

If you haven't heard about it, that makes me feel better! ?

Just coming back to say that Symphony is out of dry dock and heading back across the Atlantic! Assuming a 10 day journey, she should be near the states by 6/17 https://www.cruisemapper.com/?imo=9744001

I feel confident this is the real deal unless there happens to be a horrible virus apocalypse that sinks them once again.
I’m October 23 Symphony. It’s my 4th try. Been cancelled 3 times. It’s gotta go!

dandi799 got a reaction from Matt in State of Florida Sues CDC Over Cruise Shut Down
I know it is one state, but we were hit hard and slow to reopen, so it really is saying a lot if Gov. Murphy just ended the PHE in NJ today.

dandi799 got a reaction from NickNafster79 in Allure & Symphony get test cruise approval
If you go here , Richard Fain talks about it in the video, and Matt writes about the vaccine protocol in the blog post. I totally understand needing to see it with your own eyes. There has been a lot of "i heard x is happening" lately! And, as someone mentioned above, anything could still happen, but this is what the plan is currently.

That article is rehashing the original quote from Mayor of Bayonne from May 20 that no one has been able to verify is true or not.

He has since removed the ship names, but Brian Leavitt has posted this on his Instagram and Facebook feed. I know that this doesn't help me to figure out how long it will all take to get Symphony back up and running, but I will take any good news!

dandi799 got a reaction from deep1 in Freedom of the Seas first Test Cruise in July
The test cruise is approved for June 20, I believe, not July. Can anyone remind me how long it takes after the test cruise is complete for the approval to come through for revenue cruises? And, is it still the case (so far) that each ship needs to be approved for a test cruise prior to a revenue cruise? If June 20 is the first test cruise, and each ship will need to go through this, it does seem tricky for many early (at least) July cruises to get the go ahead. Still moving in the right direction with some more solid news here!!

dandi799 reacted to Phoenix in Freedom of the Seas first Test Cruise in July
It might still happen in June 20th which currently isn't showing up. Since they only release bits and pieces of info, we are left to put the pieces together.

dandi799 reacted to JC Pats in Freedom of the Seas first Test Cruise in July
Every ship will need to go through the process (unless they're doing a 95%/98% Vaccinated plan). Unknown how long it will take to approve, if there are no issues, and unknown how many simulated/test cruises will need to take place for approval under the CSO

dandi799 got a reaction from mjb1127 in Test cruises soon?
My understanding is that Royal is requiring all eligible passengers to be vaccinated, right? Maybe they are doing the test cruises to make sure that children under 12 can cruise, without having to limit them to less than 5% of the passengers? (The rule is still that 95% of passengers need to be vaccinated in order to avoid test cruises, right?) I'm thinking that an Oasis class ship over the summer, even at 50% capacity, could have more than 5% (150-ish) of its passengers made up of children under 12.
I also agree with the idea that they are testing all the new procedures that will be put in place when sailing resumes.
I'm just happy that there seems to be bits of positive news every day!

dandi799 got a reaction from Baked Alaska in Over/Under Guesstimates for Cruises Departing from American Ports
I'm going with August 1st purely because I'm hoping to be on Symphony on 8/14. ? I do think they will be working like crazy to save some of the summer sailings. This is the first time I am allowing myself to be even mildly optimistic.

dandi799 reacted to twangster in US cruises could restart soon with 'passenger voyages by mid-July,' CDC says
Not to be outdone, the busiest cruise port in the world has entered the crew vaccine effort.
There were four ships in port Saturday, two today.

dandi799 got a reaction from PPPJJ-GCVAB in Deluxe Drink Package Sale
I checked my 8/21 Symphony cruise this morning at 8:00 and the price was $71. I saw some chatter on my sailing date facebook group so checked again at 11:30, and it was already sold out and back at $71. So frustrating, but I'm going to hope that it is a sign of more good sales to come? Maybe?
