Great! 🥳 As a Georgia native, I have always been #teamDelta (except for an angry few weeks I had after flying to meet my biological sister for the first time in Florida and Delta decided to have that computer meltdown on the heels of a hurricane/tropical storm maybe 5 years back - we caught that coming and going!). Thanks for that info, I have to now figure out how to pack more lightly than I have ever done in my life. 🥴 See you at Hartsfield Jackson.

It's likely this is the delay. Making an announcement about dropping vax mandates on certain sailings with certain itineraries causes confusion because no one wants to read beyond the headlines. They have to figure out operationally how to adjust between all the different itineraries and different sailings to accommodate the requirements of the ports. Then they also need to be able to communicate what is expected for each sailing to the passengers, which Royal's communication has never been its strong point.

I checked in via the app for my Sept 18 cruise last week at midnight. There were no changes to the vaccination information questions and uploading a photo of the card.
I check in tonight at midnight for the Sept 25 cruise. I’ll see if the process is changed. I hope so, as this would definitely be a good indicator that they’re dropping more requirements. 🤞

It seems by my recall that the 1 bedroom aqua suites are sky class and the other aqua suites are star class (I am sure someone will pipe up if that’s incorrect).

A friend messaged me after contacting RCCL about the app not allowing her to upload her vaccine information for her upcoming cruise. Their response back this afternoon basically said that guests will no longer need to upload their vaccination record during mobile check-in for cruises departing on August 9th, 2022 or after that date, but until further notice cruisers ages 12 and older would need to bring their 2 dose vaccine card to the port.

Although the following was not stated by the rep,  I can only assume that they changed the app in anticipation of a new policy rolling around regarding vaccinations that would likely begin on or after August 14th (perhaps to be announced on the 14th?). Again, the last part is entirely my supposition. But I know this has been a question floating around everywhere about the app vaccination info so I wanted to pass it on this information. There was actually somebody in one of the groups that I belong to that got the same information from another RCCL rep today so the story is consistent.

I do hope that whoever is looking out for vaccine issues for you and your son at least do recognize that the mRNA vaccines may not have a parallel to vaccines that have caused previous reactions and will look more closely at trying to identify the reasons for the previous reaction before blanketly avoid any vaccination. The same issues experienced before may simply not apply here.

I booked a 10:30 flight out of Miami ( AA).  Hubby and I took our bags with us 2 carryons 1 checked bag.  We got off the ship by 7:30  grabbed an Uber.  Got to aiport in 20 minutes self checked bag and was at gate by 9:00 a.m.  ( we did not have TSA precheck)  This was on a Sunday.   We had plenty of time but that was before all this craziness with flights now.

    Good Luck.

We are scheduled to be there on the AD on the week of the 20th and haven't received anything.  Labadee is a very isolated part of Haiti and difficult to get to.  That said I remember years ago on either the Song of America or the Sovereign we were at Labadee and were called to leave early because of civil unrest which I think led to a coup involving Baby Doc who was the dictator of Haiti for many years.

We have a sailing to Labadee that leaves in 10 days and we have gotten no notice that is going to change.

I really hope it doesn't...we picked this itinerary specifically for Labadee because we (1) missed out on it on our Odyssey due to the issues and what not and (2) got a GREAT deal on a bungalow

We have always stayed closer to the airport, most recently in the Blue Lagoon area, but prior to that in the hotels just north of the airport.

We like the Blue Lagoon area better due to how close it is to the airport after a long day’s travel, and the proximity of Publix and some restaurants.

In the interest of full disclosure, we aren’t doing anything more than staying the night before boarding the ship, so sightseeing and being a tourist isn’t a factor.

We like the Hilton Hampton Inns - Brickell is very nice and near great restaurants (Including the one right next door), but a longer walk to a grocery or drug store (although definitely doable for most people). The one at a blue lagoon is also nice and directly across the street from my Publix and a TJ Maxx (and a block from CVS). There is fast food close by, not a ton of great dining however. Both offer airport shuttles and reasonably priced shuttles to the port (around 10-12 pp).
