We did not give Victoria much thought on our Alaskan cruise and had nothing planned.  We walked into town past Fisherman's Wharf.  We are so glad we did. It truly is a beautiful city.

Walk around Fisherman's Wharf and take the water taxi to Victoria's Downtown. It's a beautiful city.

This is exactly what we do! The downtown area has many very nice restaurants, bars and shopping options that you can easily make the most of your time there. The downtown is VERY clean and safe. Even walking around and not spending a dime is better than sitting on the ship for this port.

It is difficult to believe this is even the enchantment.    I have my doubts.

I'm just not sure how it works with RC...it may not let you book two at the same time for the same people, kind of like when you try to book two activities at the same time, it throws up a red flag and keeps you from doing it. That said, give it a shot for sure and if it lets you...do it. Then you have up to a few days before the day of the excursion to cancel one of them. The other option is book the 2nd one through Viator or another 3rd party company...most of them have cancellation policies that allow them up to a certain time, just look into that part first.

We are heading to Boston in early September, we saw that but I think we are just gonna do our own thing. Figure out a way to Cheers, then just check out the Quincy market area. I figured that's actually "doing Boston my own way" lol.  BUT definitely open to any other ideas, so I'll be checking to see if anyone gives you info on this one!

Sorry to hear this happened to you and I hope someone on the blogs can give you some ideas of who to connect with to try and get this some traction.
The biggest takeaway from this is whenever there is a problem on the sailing you need to make sure you resolve it prior to leaving the ship. Once you leave the ship, there's less urgency for someone to assist you. Onboard you need to leverage every resource you have (Guest Services, Concierge) and escalate until you talk to someone who will do something. If you ever have an issue with a Shore Excursion and make a complaint onboard they often will give a refund, but you do need to be persistent, polite, and do not let them just put you aside and firmly stand your ground and talk to someone higher up.
How much you spent and your loyalty is irrelevant. They should have listened to your complaints onboard and tried to offer a solution while onboard.

Yes, I would agree. While we loved the ship and thought it was truly amazing, with the recent crazy run-up in prices, we definitely would not pay the inflated prices. In October of 2022 for our 3/9/24 Icon cruise, we paid roughly $7,000 for 2 rooms (one balcony and one inside room) for 4 people (my wife and me, and our 2 teenaged boys). I randomly checked the prices leading up to our 3/9/24 Icon cruise, and the prices for the exact same rooms skyrocketed to nearly $20k. Yikes! There's no way I'd pay that! Our cruise was great, but no chance it would be worth nearly $20k. No way!

Sailed enchantment in February, found the ship charming and have no complaints. Sure she’s older and starting to show her age but the staff were awesome and had a chance to remember you with the smaller crowd

My biggest concern with 4 in a room is the bathroom situation.  If you are considering a Junior Suite…why not consider 2 OV Balconies next to each other or connecting.  You could also consider one OVBalcony with an interior across the hall.  With a 2 room choice you may need to book one adult with one tween in each room.  2 rooms gives 2 bathrooms.  A JS still has just 1 bathroom with a tub.
Of course price is most important but to me…so is comfort and convenience.
    Best of luck!

i am curious to know how much a trek it will be from the port itself.
could be a nice option for the day, especially since we can (hopefully) use our drink vouchers/packages.

This makes perfect sense within the context of Royal going after families who'd consider vacationing at a major theme park. Cozumel is a popular port with many, many ships calling on it. Providing a beach club option for travelers who are uncomfortable getting outside Royal's bubble through non-Royal resorts is going to make them a mint.

My SIL is on Brilliance and sounds like it has got a propulsion problem or similar. There was an announcement by the captain yesterday about an issue.
The originally itinerary was Lifou, Noumea, Mystery Island, Vila and Luganville but it is now enroute to Sydney arriving 25th March.
Originally it was due back 30th

Almost everyone on board is going to be more concerned with their own vacation, than to worry about you. Of course there is always a chance you will run into someone who has had too much to drink and cannot keep their thoughts to themselves.  That will be the situation anywhere. As long as you aren’t being “look at me! Look at me!” obnoxious, 99.99% of the people on board will barely even notice your existence other than you being an obstacle in the buffet line! LOL That goes for EVERYONE. Don’t overthink it and just enjoy your trip. You be you!!!!

Just saying a quick hello here, first time in about four years. I just booked the 12-night Odyssey sailing in Jan 2025, which is an itinerary I've been wanting to do kind of since I first started sailing with Royal in 2018 and learned about it. Seemed like a nice way to celebrate turning 55. 🙂
To everyone I haven't spoken with in all these years, hope you've been well!

They can't keep all the terminal staff available for multiple shifts around the clock.  Terminal staff are local contractors, not cruise line employees, in addition to customs and immigration who are government workers, all who have limits to their work day.   They can't tell any of those people to work 18 hour days.  To cover an extended check in window that would mean multiple shifts of each set of people doubling or tripling the cost.  From forklift drivers, xray technicians, luggage handlers on land and on the ship, security, police, customs, immigration, check in counter workers and more.  There are a lot of people in the terminal involved in boarding new guests onto a ship.
At a certain point the local terminal people who process new guests will go home leaving a small security staff to screen existing passengers coming and going to the ship.   That's relatively easy and immigration knows those guests have already been processed.
The best thing to do would be to fly in day before and spend a night in the hotel.  That also protects you better from delayed or canceled flights.  Flying in the day of the cruise is a rookie mistake that often causes people to miss cruises.  I have missed a cruise thinking I could fly in the day of the cruise and my flight was supposed to land at 9am.   Never again.
    1:55pm international arrival?  Wow!

The cruise is from Hong Kong on March 27.
Our flight gets in at 1:55 on the 27th and latest boarding is 3:30.
We will be late and were told to call emergency services when arriving in HK.
The catch is the ship stays in the port for an additional full day and leaves the 28th in evening.
The flight was a mistake because I thought boardings were later and we only had a short time to see Singapore which is where we are flying from.
I cannot imagine them denying us boarding considering the ship will be there for another 28 hours or so but should we be stressed about this?
