We stopped at Labadee on our 2019 cruise and really enjoyed it.  The beach was clean and the water was beautiful.  We brought our own snorkeling equipment and saw several different fish.  We paid to do the Arawak Aqua Park and that was fun, as was the coaster.

I'd assume that if the app works on the device, that the chat feature would work when connected to the ship wifi.  I suspect that your bigger issue would be that the app stops working and becomes unsupported on the iPod.  We used to have an extra phone that we only used on Wifi at Disney and at some point we had to stop using it since the app required a certain level of iOS and the device could not install that version.

I looked at the app in the App Store and it looks like the App requires iOS 13.0 or later on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

If you want to use the chat feature, you must be able to install the app on whatever device you want to use and that device must have wifi capability. Cell service does not matter.

Being vaccinated absolutely does reduce your chance of catching and spreading covid, actually. Does it stop it altogether? No.

    Let’s have some fun debate!

fingers crossed that Omicron was the last major outbreak and Covid becomes seasonal flu.

In this case, which requirement do you see going away first? Vax requirement or pre boarding testing?
I am fully vaxxed so selfishly I want testing to go away because it adds too much stress!

    what say you?

Johns Hopkins and many other peer reviewed publications will differ with you. Vaping is only "marginally" less dangerous to your health than smoking. Vape contains nearly as much nicotine as a cigarette, and in some instances more by tidal volume.  Some chemicals, mainly VOCs, are found in much higher levels in a vape cloud than in a cigarette.

Wow.  I'm amazed at such a statement.  I remember scrimping and saving for a vacation and if something happened to prevent me from going and losing a good chunk of that money I would have been devastated. It doesn't mean I couldn't afford a vacation.  There are people who open travel club (vacation accounts) at their local banks, just like a Christmas club, where they put money into it for the purpose of the account.    Not everyone has extra funds to cover the cost of unforeseen events.

The ships I have been on have all had a small selection of items in the shops. Like if you forgot your toothbrush, or needed antacid, or whatever. I can't swear they all have such a thing, but it is likely. However, the shops are not always open!
    Best to pack carefully 🙂
And of course most ports will have drugstores or convenience stores or whatnot close to the pier.

Rapid tests that are proctored are sold by Emed.com in a 6 pack and by Royal CAribbean in lesser quantities.
only fully vaxxed can use them. Unvaxxed kids must get a PCR test taken no more than 3 days before the cruise sailing but NOT on the day of sailing)

vacvinated can use rapid  (antigen ) (the above mentioned kits or supervised drug store testing)or PCR taken no more than 2 days before a cruise sailing.  So a Sunday cruise the earliest test can be Friday..  you must be able to show electronic results or print out. Nothing handwritten.  If you click on “health” in the app you should see the healthy protocols

This happened to me for our Symphony sailing heading out tomorrow. I originally had an Ocean View as well and was upgraded to a Large Ocean View Balcony room. Good luck!

That happened to me last month on Harmony! I got changed to a balcony room from an interior. They also gave me $100 OBC for the "inconvenience"

Last week's 7-Night sailing on Harmony of the Seas:  Guest Services crew member reported 3,300 pax (about 60% capacity) including over 300 children.
Masks were optional for pax (crew still wore masks 100% of the time).  There was frequent cleaning throughout the ship, and disinfectant fogging of the passageways in the middle of the night.  Handwashing was enforced at eateries, and alcohol hand gel stations were located everywhere.   It was a very comfortable environment and didn't feel/seem crowded to me.  No problems that I am aware of.

When I see that statement my thought is that we're (nearly) all on a fixed income. My income is fixed by my employer in the form of the salary they pay me. I *might* be able to find a different employer who will pay me a higher fixed income, but I *might* also lose that income.
At least seniors on Social Security have a guaranteed minimum income (unlike those still working) and they get an annual increase that usually mirrors inflation from the previous year. Pay raises in the working world rarely keep up with the increases received by those on a "fixed income."
(Okay - off my semantics-based soapbox).

I don't think that will happen before June of 2022.
I think one of the reasons cruise lines operating in this country institute vaccine requirements was to assure Caribbean nations and Latin America that they would not make their COVID situation worst by having large numbers of unvaccinated individuals come off a ship onto their shores.  Look at how cruise ships were turned away from some port at the height of Omicron and Grand Cayman still hasn't reopened their ports to cruise ships the new reopening date is now set for March 21st. These islands in the Caribbean have limited resources (hospital space) and they can't afford to be overrun with COVID.  In a most recent survey that came out 4 days ago most of the Caribbean and Latin America have not reach 40% vaccination rate.  Grand Cayman which is still closed report just last week that 90% of their population is now fully vaccinated (they are the exception in the Caribbean) yet they remain closed to cruise ships.  Many of the Caribbean islands and Latin America don't have the infrastructure necessary to store large quantities of vaccine and most of the vaccines that have been created worldwide require extremely cold storage, so they are not ordering large quantities of vaccine because it would only be wasted. There is also vaccine hesitancy in a lot of these countries among other reason why vaccination rates are so low in the Caribbean and Latin America.
I said all of that to say this I think the vaccination requirement will remain in place until more countries in the regions mention see higher vaccination rates.
