I’m sure he will look fine, some people wear T-shirts on formal night. I wouldn’t worry about it especially if it’s not something he would much in the future. 

Thank you for a wonderful blog!!  I will be going on our first cruise (40th anniversary...) in March 2019.  Your pictures and descriptions were all amazing. My dogs woke me up at 2am.. your blog was very entertaining when I couldn't get back to sleep.  

That's true but responders can be a little less patient than the ones on this board.   Some are nice others like to argue.   I was very happy to find this group.   Great for a newby.

Thank you @TNphilp !!  It looks like they are under the balcony and they will not obstruct my view.  I did find a youtube video of a large balcony on Harmony of the seas, and they had a great shot on the balcony.  No lifeboats in view. :) You worked hard for me!!!!!!  So kind.  I loved the video
 

Most RCI ships I've been on have 3 smoking areas.  Pool deck starboard side aft, the casino itself, and the starboard side deck area just outside of the casino.

There are two primary smoking areas on each ship: one side of the pool deck and in the casino.
Depending on the ship, there may be other areas.

Thank you!  We will scope out the cruise compass.  My sister did say she may quit before we go.  Crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.  LOL  I support her either way.  It does no good to nag.  
 

Yikes !  The cure is definitely not worth it in that case !  Glad she has recovered.

The pool deck usually has a few tables with ash tray things on them, I'm assuming Symphony will have the same.

I had to contact them for my confirmation too.  You’d think an email confirmation would be automatic but i didn’t get one until I requested it.

My sister loves to gamble and smoke. I have the feeling I may lose her to the casino....  
 

You can confirm when you get on board, but there should be smoking in the casino and 1 or 2 places on one of the upper decks.
There is no smoking in the rooms or balcony if you have one.
The number of places to smoke has been greatly reduced in the last few years.

True story:
I'm dating the woman who would become my wife, we've been together maybe a couple of months and I'm over at her parents for dinner. I'll be meeting her sister and brother-in-law for the first time. I get there ahead of the sister and BIL, sit down and visit with her parents for a bit.
The doorbell rings, future MIL goes down and I hear the following:
"Hello Ed. You're wet!"
(pause)
"It's... raining."
I immediately holler out, "Rocky Horror Picture Show!"
 
Years later, my now-BIL reveals that he knew from that moment we would get along absolutely swimmingly (which we have, and still do).

I am so jealous!  We have 367 days left.  Which ship are you going on?  We will be sailing on Symphony of the Seas March 23rd 2019.  My hubby and son would probably vote for intervention. I created a event on facebook.. I told everyone to turn off notifications, but one day they would appreciate all my links.

No need to be nervous. If you accidentally get into the wrong line someone will help you.  They are very gracious. 

If sticking together is the most important factor, just try getting in whichever line is shorter.
If they "can't" join you in the shorter Platinum line, join them in the regular line. Vacation together start to finish.

I have seen it both ways.  One time they said our newby son and wife could join us in line.  Other times, we were told no for some friends.  We will jump in what ever line is the shortest even though we are Diamond.  But we always wait for them before getting on the ship...So we can get on together.  
We will be on the ship with you next week...Can’t wait to get back to the ABC Islands ? 

I have decided to keep MTD. :) I think I made the right choice to begin with.  LOL  I  can reserve the same time if I want or if I need to be late I can schedule late.  Thanks everyone!!!
 

Even if you go on a wait list for a little while, I'd be very surprised if you were not able to change.

We will be taking our first cruise on Symphony of the Seas March 2019.  We chose "anytime dining" but now I would like to change it to the set time, we don't want to wait in lines or reserve each meal individually.  I cant see an option to change this on my account.  Is it possible to change online or will I have to call.  Thank you for any help!!  I'm a little overwhelmed with all the options.  BUT excited. I am sure I will plan up to the day we leave. :)
