I too applaud you calm relating of your issue but, except for the boarding fiasco which may or may not have been Royal’s fault, I don’t see actionable problems.  We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday on our last cruise AND informed the suites concierge.  Dinner came and went with no acknowledgement.  A cupcake with a candle would have been nice but there is no guarantee that anything will be done.
As for your view, there are many sites through which you can research cabins.  A good TA can also assist.  It’s not Royal’s fault your view was not up to your expectations.  If view was very important, as I’m sure it was, you needed to be more proactive in choosing your cabin.
    Sorry JMHO

Thank you for asking a question so calmly even if it's about a frustrating situation.

Another big question is what will the cost be to the passengers?  I can't imagine it would be less than it is now.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I hope the cruise itself is so wonderful that it makes the frustration fade away.

That was the first thing I did.  It was a restriction/non-refundable ticket. They cited $2000 for same flight 4 days later. I re-booked for less than 1/2 that amount. I went round and round with the airline for several days and even had airline cancellation insurance that found a loophole to not pay.  It has been very frustrating but also very discouraging with RCCL and the huge run-a-round I have been given. This started in Oct 2021 and many emails, many people (always a different person replying to an email) many phone numbers later no resolution.
For me, it goes beyond the monetary issue to the customer service issue. You would think/hope as a TA they would want to help me resolve this showing what a great company and service oriented they are. As my DH said, I am just grateful this happened to me and not one of my clients.
I will add, I love RCCL product. I think it is one of the best top to bottom and will still choose to sail with them, but they have major communication and knowledge issues that makes things very challenging when an issue does arise.

Another place is on Deck 5 behind the Aqua Theater. There will be joggers going by but it is so peaceful watching the wake.  I agree with Central Park.  Depending on the time of day but the Solarium can be a place to enjoy reading also.

The 2 blaring things I see screaming out in there are

For cruise ship operators opting into CDC’s COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships, CDC will continue to exercise enforcement discretion regarding the requirements of its January 29, 2021, Mask Order, applicable to operators of, and crew and passengers on board, cruise ships.
    and

Vaccination Standard of Excellence: ships with at least 95% passengers and 95% crew who are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines.
“UP TO DATE” meaning you have to be BOOSTED as many times and the CDC decides they want you to be boosted to be “up to date”

If Royal goes along with this, I’ll probably be done cruising until everything goes back to the Pre-Covid experience!  I’ve had 3 Pfizer shots and had covid …… I’m done with the vaccine FOREVER and will never take another shot!  I’m also done booking trips that require masks in vaccinated areas  …… if that comes back again, I’m done as well!

If I had to keep one of the other …… I’d prefer to keep the pre-cruise testing and then have no masks ……. Even with masks, a bunch of Covid positive people getting on the ship won’t have a good outcome.

Disappointing. I was hoping for a return to looser mask requirements now that Omicron has peaked in the US.  I'll still go on my March cruise on Liberty but honestly, there are a lot of vacation options that don't require masks.

Latest poll: 70% of Americans are ready to put Covid in the rear view. Double vaxxed and boosted are getting sick too. I don’t think boosters are the answers to what appears to be the new common cold.

I’ve got 3 cruises (Caribbean, Alaska and Holy Land/Greece) through October. I’ll do the damn booster to take the 2 bucket list cruises but I’ll stop cruising after that if boosters are required year after year after year. I’ll have to retire as a brand new Diamond Plus and never get to enjoy the benefits.

70% is a pretty substantial number.

TheSeaCallsMyName reacted to twangster in Booster shots mandate inevitable on Royal.
I don’t think we can draw analogies from sister companies.  Celebrity for example didn’t do test cruises so they had to maintain 95% vax rates to sail.  SilverSea and Celebrity have long seen many fewer kids compared to Royal.   SilverSea has an older clientele typically.  The dramatically different number of children allows those lines to craft policies that are adult centric.
Royal Caribbean Group has the three sister companies that each serve a distinct and different target audience.   They don’t overlap on purpose (or minimally).  Each is free to draft policies and protocols that are appropriate and desirable for that lines target consumer but within the overall guidelines from the Healthy Sail Panel.
SilverSea is more likely to have guests demand a booster requirement or they won’t book.  Royal Caribbean International is less likely to have this type of consumer.  That’s not to say there aren’t any RCI guests who would like to see a booster requirement but with more families on Royal there will be fewer guests who demand a booster requirement and some families that may not choose to booster their kids.
Azamara is no longer part of the RCG family of cruise lines.
A booster requirement on RCI will narrow their market and that’s not in their best interest as of today.
