So my wife was talking with our neighbor yesterday, catching up on local gossip and letting her know that we would be heading out of town in January for another RC cruise (she is our unofficial neighborhood Mrs. Kravitz). My wife thought it best to give "Gladys" a heads up so that she didn't lose any sleep worrying or wondering if something terrible had happened to us, noticing the loss of daily routines that myself and family normally endure and display each day.
Knowing in advance the quick witted and somber responses that our neighborhood Karen is accustom to, her response really should not have surprised my wife. But she called us out like a closet Swiftie, stating "Well, aren't you a bunch of thalassophiles".
    It's true, I am one.
It's been over 3 months since my last cruise and ocean sighting. But I have a wonderful support group and attend meetings via forums and discussions as often as I can. So thank you fellow board members. It's one cruise at a time .

Just getting off Navigator for my Dec. 11th Cruise and I can say that the Prime Rib was very poor quality in the Main Dining Room.  The next night wasn't any better.  We had Chicken Parm. and the Chicken was very dry and mine had gristle throughout. I was given another and given extra sauce to mask the dryness of the breading on the chicken. There was laughter in the dining room the next night because of the "Jumbo Coconut Shrimp" which actually was not butterflied as it usually is prepared and was half the size of a Cocktail Shrimp !  This was in no way the fault of any staff member on board and we assured them that there were 10's all around for service and we left an extra tip for each one at the end of our Cruise.
Other than food (which was very poor quality at every venue) we had a great time and I will be back on board for BtoBtoBtoB cruises on Navigator starting Jan. 8, 2024. Thankfully "I only eat to live and not live to eat" so I manage to find a snack or two to suffice.
Maybe I will see some of you onboard?

Not sure what you are getting at with the seating two woman thing but I’m really glad to hear a recent Royal up (suite level) victory because they are few and far between these days.

I am officially spoiled now.  Our experience in an Owner's Suite on Navigator of the Seas was fantastic.  The only issue was the main dining and the kitchen (more on that later).  This was my first experience in a suite that included the suite lounge and concierge.  My friend and I took full advantage.  We are both Diamond so we used our drink vouchers outside of the Suite Lounge Happy Hours.  We utilized the Suite Concierge a couple of time and he was fantastic. He was able to find out if the spa had any port day specials in advance of that port day so I had my first massage on this cruise and would recommend it to anyone.  The spa even gave us an extra $10 off of the special rate.  The Suite was so awesome and spacious (too bad this was only a 7 night cruise).  Since we were 2 friends I took the sofa that made into a bed and it was very comfortable (for only 1 person as I would not recommend for 2 people due to the raised area in the middle).  Now for the only down side to the cruise.  The host staff (specifically those at the computers) was awful.  We had My Time Dining and the first night they tried to sit us at a completely awful table (2 women together and I know this to be true because there were 2 women at that table when we left).   The next table was barely better but was not so out in the open that we accepted it.  The prime rib was so tough it was inedible (others around us complained too).  Our waiter noticed that we were not happy so he quietly informed his boss (the person in charge of that area, Jude).  Jude came over and asked us what was wrong.  We told him, he said to let the people up front that we were to be seated in his area the rest of the cruise and he took care of us.  The next morning we ordered Main Dining room service and it was a disaster.  My friend ordered an omelet with ham, cheese, and mushrooms with toast and the 2 sides being sauteed mushrooms and cheesy grits.  She got delivered a Smoked SALMON and mozzarella omelet with warm bread (no toasting) and no sides.  The server came up 2 more times and the order was never totally correct (the cheesy grits he brought were shredded cheddar cheese and no grits).  That evening in the main dining Jude asked us about our day and we told him what happened at breakfast. He went and got the head of room service, that person took our order for the next morning and personally brought it up.  We had no more room service issues and we did order dinner one night (with the help of Jude again).  Jude even sent us a dozen chocolate covered strawberries for our issues.  We took care of Jude at the end of the cruise, he truly was awesome and made up for the first night dining and morning breakfast.  All in all I would definitely sail in a suite again and hope I get another chance.  Thank you to everyone who answered my questions when I won the Royal Up.

I received an email a day or so ago to advertise a new partnership between Royal Caribbean and Brightline rails.  This email highlights an interesting option for getting from South Florida to Port Canaveral (and vise versa) that includes transport from the train station to Port Canaveral.  I knew of the rail option, of course, but always wondered how I would get from the train station (Orlando) to the port.  Apparently Royal/Brightline has solved that problem !  This is not an option I can use at the moment since we do not yet have a Brightline station near my home but I think it was recently announced that a Brightline station will be added at Ft Pierce, which would be close enough to Port St Lucie to make it doable for us, eventually.  At any rate, for those who could take advantage of this new option, here is what I received via email.

Thank you so much @jbrinkm for that lovely message.  I’m lucky my children and grandchildren live close by and not out of state.  When my first grandchild (Gia Bella who will be 16 next month!) was born, I asked my daughter to allow me to take her overnight as soon as she felt comfortable.  Lucky for me it only took her about 6 weeks to hand her over 😂.  From that point…time with my grandchildren has always been plentiful.  My own kids bedrooms became nurseries and then kids’ rooms and still are to this day!
I melt too every time they are around ❤️!  And I do know how very lucky I am to have them so prominent in my life.

Pro tip to deter magnet theft-
    Use super glue.
My superglued magnet lasted entire sailing…..and was still there when I sailed the following year.

Thankfully I have not been a victim of magnet stealing but would be very upset if I were.  The magnets I bring along are mostly hand made by my grandchildren who absolutely love spending a day with me to design and create their masterpieces!
Very sad that anyone would stoop that low for whatever reason they see fit!

Well I'll go ahead and say yes, I believe it because it occurred on my cruise recently, as well. Multiple reports of stolen magnets and eventually security watched cameras, saw the kids doing it and went to the room later to confront them. Retrieved the magnets (the kids claim they thought magnets were put out as a scavenger hunt type thing) and gave the parents a warning,

I'm confused.  Did I suggest there is no other crime in the world?
So theft should not be a crime in your opinion?
Where do you draw the line?  $5 theft?  $20 theft?  $100 theft?  You good with someone stealing a holiday decoration of your lawn?  Or just if Grandma steals it, so her grandkids can have a happy holiday?
Or was it because it was a sweet old grandma?  Old ladies can steal but a 23 year old man can't?

Registered sex offenders are not allowed to cruise. The cruise lines run the manifest a few days before sailing and they will call you and let you know you can't cruise.

This post reminds me of one of my favorite cruise pastimes - walking the halls early in the mornings to admire magnets/door decor. If I find one I really like, I take a photo on my phone for posterity's sake. In fact, I found a magnet once that I loved so much I immediately went and found it online to purchase. Just can't fathom stealing a magnet - I'd have that constantly hanging over my own conscience whenever I looked at it.

Did nana do the perp walk?
Sort of related; some clown apparently took our room service breakfast order tag off our door before they were collected on our deck on our recent cruise. Called Room Service 90 minutes after requested delivery time passed. The crew member I spoke with checked, sure enough they didn't have an order for us. He apologized, stating tag grabs are a favorite pastime of drunks and kids.

Is your point that there are worse things than thieves @Thom Cruise?  I'll concede that, but the post you quoted didn't present itself as an exhaustive list of bad actors nor did it suggest that the thief was the worst.
Looks to simply be adressing the topic of the thread

Stealing a magnet for the grandkids?  What a terrible excuse for a human.
I stopped bringing magnets because of magnet thieves.  Still bothers me that people think they can just take other people's hard earned things, even something as small a magnet on a door on a cruise ship.  To think she was going to present it to her grandkids so they would look up to her and think what a wonderful person she was for thinking of them while in reality she was nothing but a common thief.  Hopefully she is banned from Royal.  No room for criminals on board.

Two funny stories from the cruise we’re on that’s just about to end. On night four we noticed security going up and down our hall, they entered one room while wearing cameras attached to their chests and then we heard the safe open (we were one door away across the hall, we didn’t mind our business). Turns out someone had a magnet on their door and it had been stolen. The person complained to security, they got involved and found the thief, a grandmother who had taken it to give to her grandkids.😂
Last night there was a grown man passed smooth out in the waiting area near the elevators on deck 10, just absolutely out cold. Security had to get involved there as well.
It was a great cruise, lots of stories to talk about for sure!
