Todd W got a reaction from 4ensic in (REAL) Cuban Cigars
carpe diem -    in the majority of ports, these "authentic" cubans will be very over priced and questionable at best unless he is aware of the subtle nuances to tell a fake from a legit.   i'd be more than happy to share (offline) my overseas sources that are without question, legit Cuban cigar distributors.   That being said,  up until the past 10-15 years,  quality of true cubans has rapidly declined as they became more readily available through mass production.   I used to be a huge fan but now i've found so many more non-cuban cigars that are leaps and bounds much better than the current  stock thats out in the market place unless you can find an aged box going back before the cigar "boom" period.    I digress, as this is one of my passions (current stash is well over 2000+ cigars)  and i could ramble on for hours.   In short, when i buy them,  I never buy them at port for reasons mentioned above.   Majority of mine come in from Switzerland via Cuba at a near domestic cigar prices ($6 - $9 a stick)   legit, better quality,  properly maintained and best of all, much more reasonable priced.   more than happy to share my connections and he can see for himself.

Todd W got a reaction from EmersonNZ in Royal closing US call center and sending jobs away...
while it sucks to see US call center jobs move to other countries, as someone who used to run a 3rd party Call Center for another industry, it's becoming more and more commonplace simply due to labor costs.  Royal isn't the first and they won't be the last.     On a funny note, it can be rather comedic at times.   At one point in time,  my old facility handled level 1 tech support for a major brand PC company HQ'd out of Austin  ?      All overseas agents had to attend  language desensitization classes to sound "more American" .   Since my facility was based in Texas those agents would use our texas "twang" as their ideal speaking voice.    So you would get someone obviously from Mumbai on the phone , trying to sound like John Wayne with the name of "George" trying to help US customers.    It was hilariously embarrassing.

If you haven't yet done so, i would bring it to Royal's attention immediately.     I can't speak for you, but i wouldn't want to have seen this type of stuff and do nothing about it and find out afterwards something horrible could have been possibly avoided.

totall agree with @twangster.    obviously Royal wants to keep it under wraps.       At the end of the day,  the OP won't get a thing from Royal for reporting this so they certainly won't lose anything by continuing to press the issue outside of their bubble.   if anything, if this "leaks" out, than it will force their hand to ensure they have proper cyber-monitoring in place for this sort of thing going forward.   pictures or it didn't happen....

A call to RCMP/CSIS wouldn't hurt.  They know how to engage the appropriate agency on the other side of the border.
One concern with calling RC is that only represent RC's interests.  They won't likely get this guy on any radar screens of any government agency where he appears to belong.

Thanks everyone..I have been in touch with the Global security and Investigations Operations for Royal......they had asked me not to say anything further at this point as they look into this.

I certainly don't want to get any one in trouble but at the very least, even if this is all innocent speak on social media, it certainly doesn't make Royal look good...and it could be potentially much worse.

arrive early,  grab a cold adult beverage and find a seat in the promenade for some class-A touristy people watching and some food.   after a bit of that, relocate up to the pool deck, grab another cold drink and more people watching.     Once room opens up,   drop off carry on's,  back to the pool deck for another....     it's a vicious cycle but someone has to do it!  ?

My next cruise (6 and a half months to go, but who's counting, amirite?) will be my first cruise solo and only my second cruise ever. (Explorer, South Pacific, March 2019)
This thread has been hugely informative for planning purposes! I hadn't got much past the "drink package, here I come - cue the party goblin!" ?
    So, here's the plan:
    1. Arrive early!
    2. Drink - and toast to the beginning of the rest of my new life sans overgrown man-child
    3. Find a spot to sit and people watch
    4. Spa open day - forgot totally about that!
    5. More drink! More people watching.
    6. Check out cabin when ready
    7. Food at some point, depending on hunger
    8. MDR visit to secure two person table for solo dining
    9. Muster drill
    10. Sailaway party
And, like @KWofPerth, I'll be happy to achieve any part of this, so long as the first two items are done.
Oh, and I will be photographing my drinks, my stateroom, my view when people watching and everything else, and then posting it to social media. I want people to know just what a great time I'm having!

Actually... I think I just formed a new 'embarkation day' plan that I'm excited to try on our next cruise.
Step 1: Get to port early and board as soon as possible! (Seriously, we'll probably be there by 10 AM.)
Step 2: Go straight to Cafe Promenade and grab a couple sandwiches and a beer
Step 3: Take those sandwiches with us and go find an awesome spot by the pool before it gets overrun
Step 4: Stay there all afternoon (at least until rooms are open)
  25. Thanks

The only things we regularly do is:  Wind Jammer for lunch, long island ice tea at the first bar, second long island ice tea to take with us to find our MDR table.  From that point on its "whatever".
