I was recently monitoring RRCL's website for room availability; I was trying to book a Junior Suite on Harmony of the Seas since one wasn't available at the time of booking. (About 75 days prior to sail date). I would frequently see a listing for a Central Park Balcony, or Ocean View Balcony, and rarely a Junior Suite. Sometimes, when I would attempt to select the room, it would show me the error message "Central Park Balcony Staterooms are unavailable" (or whatever the particular room was I was attempting to review).
Last night, I noticed a Junior Suite finally displaying"available" (previously the "Royal Class Suites" would only show the "SOLD OUT!" banner). But again, when attempting to review the room's location and price, it would populate the error message " Junior Suite Staterooms are unavailable".
I decided to call Royal Caribbean (since my TA wasn't immediately available to take my call), and I was informed by the representative that they indeed had ONE JS stateroom available for booking! I was able to book the room through my agent (who called me back almost right after I hung up with RCCL).
I wanted to share this information since newbies (like myself) might not realize that the website isn't always accurate. (I reviewed the RCblog topic history and noticed there was a good discussion about RCCL's website not showing ALL rooms available for booking...

Hope this helps! Have a great day y'all!

I always opt for EWR when flying in for anything NYC related.  It's super easy to get transportation into the city (trains) without having to use vehicles whereas LGA and JFK are not easy at all to get to without relying on some form of surface street transportation (rideshare/cab/bus/walking).
For OP, I really enjoyed my Anthem Canada/New England trip out of Cape Liberty.  Everything about that port was a breeze.
Doing Brillance in October 2020 out of Boston for the same itinerary..in fact it's one of this blog's group cruises! https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/event/royalcaribbeanblogcom-cruise-aboard-brilliance-of-the-seas

No, these are held similar to a trivia event, where it's in a bar and anyone can join in
Escape room games are played with random people from the cruise.

There's two types of escape rooms. Dedicated escape rooms and "pop up" escape rooms.
Ships with dedicated escape rooms, where there is a specific room that only does escape rooms. This costs money:
Symphony Mariner Navigator Harmony Oasis (as of November 2019) Independence There's also "pop up" escape rooms, where they can do it in a lounge. This is complimentary Ships with this are:
Anthem Ovation Brilliance Serenade Harmony (it has both)

Matt got a reaction from Sheissailing in Cheap last minute?
Getting a decent price a few weeks/month before the cruise is very much in the eye of the beholder.  The word "deal" will vary depending on your definition.
The reality is, I don't advise to using this as your primary strategy because it means very limited room selection, limited ship selection and good luck with airfare. I'd certainly hate to peg my family's vacation plans on the likelihood of a deal emerging in the few weeks leading up to the cruise.
If, however, you like in an area where you can drive to the port and are quite flexible with dates and ships, then there is a lot more room for jumping on a deal.
