Bring them in your weekly organizer, you do not need proof, so no reason to bring actual prescription with.

  2. As a newer member myself I don't think this site has trouble attracting new members. I've found the posters here all to be super helpful and I enjoy reading everyone's posts and especially enjoy the overall tone on these boards. Speaking only for myself - I totally understand the frustration of the OP and OP has every right to his/her own feelings. Your $$$ trip is up in the air. There just seems to be a lack of empathy and maybe a little disassociation with the whole situation. My frustration with your post is that I'm with you for the most part but then you use words like "savior" and "humanitarian" and how maybe your trip is more important than people getting food/water/shelter.

  3. It's an unfortunate situation, and if I was booked on this cruise I too would likely be frustrated by much of the uncertainty. Subjectively, I'd suspect that there'd be less of a negative feeling about this post if the subject didn't insinuate that uncertainty around a cruise vacation is in some way a humanitarian crisis analogous to over 3 million people being uncertain of when they might get clean water, medical supplies, etc. More objectively, with regard to the amount of time the ship would need to be cleaned - these ships have same day turnarounds every cruise. They're cleaned, sanitized, etc. The ships also generate their own supply of fresh potable water, so in a sense, the cleanest, safest place in Puerto Rico is likely Adventure of the Seas while she is in port, and there hasn't been a reason that the ship isn't able to maintain that type of operation at any point. With regard to the scheduling and uncertainty, I'm sure that Royal Caribbean and everyone else wishes things were different. If they cancel a sailing and it turns out they didn't need to be because the port re-opened and sailing was a safe and practical option then people get upset. If they wait until the last minute to cancel that makes planning very difficult. If they don't cancel there will be some who are glad their vacation is on, and others who don't feel they should be sailing for any number of reasons. In a sense they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. In terms of reviews - whether for cruising or anything else, you can almost always find multiple reviews to back up any opinion. This is great/this is terrible. It's clean/it's dirty. Service was fast/service was slow. I try and look for the specific complaints or praises within a review, especially those points which are measurable and objective, and decide what those mean to me. I also avoid giving much merit to reviews that give extreme praise or disapproval. For the record, I sail many cruise lines and haven't a reason to defend or knock RCI. I've got no skin in the game of reviews. Ultimately, I hope that if you want to sail, then you are able to without a hitch, and that if you don't RCI will work with you. I can appreciate that at this point you just want to know where you'll be and what you'll be doing in a few weeks. I hope you let us know how it all goes.

  4. Sounds good. Check with your friends also. I think my wife found her small spinner suitcase at TJ Maxx, check there if you have one near you. By the way, welcome aboard, don't be afraid to ask any questions and have fun on your cruise!

The cost is per bungalow, and you only have to purchase 1 bungalow for up to 6 people. Just put 1 name in.

  6. There are many of us here that use these luggage tag holders for the suitcases that the porters deliver yo your cabin: Cruise Luggage Tag Holder Zip Seal & Steel - Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruise. They are available on Amazon, inexpensive and very durable. Jane's idea above about the smaller rolling suitcase for your carry ons is a good idea, I usually get stuck with the super heavy backpack.

I agree with Tiny. We have always used out weekly organizer and never had any problems but we also take pictures on our phones of each presciption bottle to be extra safe. Good luck on your cruise, relax and remember this is a vacation so dont try to do everything

  9. I agree, I know I'd have a certain level of anxiety if my vacation that I had planned on and had been looking forward to for a while was in any kind of jeopardy, or just plain at risk of being less than awesome. I hope at the very least the person understands many factors are out of Royal Caribbean's hands, and the company reaching out with humanitarian aid to the suffering people of Puerto Rico is a wonderful gesture.

  10. Whether or not this is a fan site, it is clearly a site dedicated to RCCL and thus is guaranteed to have some bias. I'm sure we all try to be fair, but this site is not called "Unbiased objective observations of all ocean cruise lines blog." We clearly are coming in to this ready to provide RCCL the benefit of the doubt when possible. Now when someone decides to join said site for (apparently) the express purpose of complaining about Royal's reaction to a bad situation, what are we to think? Said person didn't ask opinions, or whether we thought there was anything they could do to make things more to their liking. All I saw were complaints, nothing but venting. So we know nothing about the person complaining, no familiarity or other previous contact. The company that is the target of the complaint, however, we all know well enough to be members of a blog dedicated to said company. How exactly is this supposed to go any other way than it did? If anything I'm impressed by the restraint shown by the members trying to defend RCCL. Far more restraint than the sarcasm soaked response given to them. Regardless, I wish the poster good luck with the situation. We have all had those moments in our lives, anybody who says they don't understand the frustration shown. I would only ask that a more constructive conversation or course of action be considered in the future. And paragraphs would be helpful as well.

  11. Sure, but 1) who are you? A bit of preamble would be in order. Entering kicking and screaming and what should be expected on our end? 2) Where was your good? 3) Honestly, I do see this as a FAN site. Some may disagree with me, and that's fine. But I do think the majority are fans here. See, if you entered by saying, "I'm a fan, I love Royal Caribbean because, blah, blah, blah, but WHAT IN THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TODAY?" it's likely I would have reacted quite differently. 4) No one here works for Royal Caribbean, as far as I know. Maybe there are lurkers that do. None of the people that run the website do, that much I know. How are they in the know? By keeping themselves in the loop. That takes time and effort. Others can come here FOR FREE and benefit from their "hobby" and they gladly share their time and effort FOR FREE. So, showing some appreciation should be in order. Thanks for listening.

  12. I certainly understand the frustration. What I can't understand is how someone comes here and makes that their first post. How should we react to that? It's like stopping a random stranger and complaining about coffee just because they are at a coffee shop. Does that automatically make us compadres?

  14. The Adventure of the Seas is not "shabby". It's a beautiful ship. To me, it's the sweet spot of cruising. RCCL is helping save lives and doing the best they can in a terrible situation. They will do their best for you. It's unfortunate, but for now, you have to wait. They are helping Puerto Rico recover. If things don't improve in San Juan, they will have to cancel more cruises, including your's. Because you have air-to-sea, you are in a better situation than those flying on their own. RCCL will know where you are in the process, and will hold the ship for a time if needed. If that is the case, the more people running late, the better for you. My advice, try to relax and see how it plays out. I know people who cruise in Sept or Oct every year because the rates are so low. However, there is more risk this time of year than other times. This is the year where Mother Nature decided to make the bills come due. It's not RCCL's fault.
