DJnKy Posted October 22, 2023 Report Share Posted October 22, 2023 On our sea day back to Tampa on a 5 night cruise we had two jets buzz low over the ship. This was around 4:30 in the afternoon. They were very low. One went directly over the aft portion of the ship. Surprise does not even get close to describing this. Picture the original TopGun movie when maverick buzzed the carrier! BrianB Posted October 23, 2023 Report Share Posted October 23, 2023 When we sail from NJ to Florida/Bahamas we usually get buzzed by fighters as we pass some of the military air bases along the coast. Very exciting. The captain was asked about it during one of his talks and he said he really didn’t like it. He felt it was inappropriate and unnecessarily startled the passengers on the pool decks. ScottD Posted October 24, 2023 Report Share Posted October 24, 2023 We had jets flyover us heading back into NJ earlier this month. We heard the roar but never saw them. Confirmed it with the FB group, a bunch of people saw the jet fly by twice while we were off the coast of NC. Apparently it's fairly normal in that area.
