Deluxe Beverage Package and Coke Souvenir Cup

Hello. Sorry if this was asked before, but it seems like I'm getting different answers. If you purchase the DBP do you also get the souvenir cup for the Freestyle vending machines for the Oasis ships? Even the RC website has conflicting information. That would be disappointing if not, you would think that "deluxe" covers all the other benefits of beverage packages. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you do!  There are generally stations set up as soon as you embark the ship with crew members selling different beverage packages.  You will see hundreds of the Freestyle Cups at one of these stations, just show them your Set Sail pass with the beverage package indicated on it, and you'll be able to grab them and be on your way!

They are however chipped to work in the freestyle machines for that cruise only.

Not entirely true. The chip, when activated, will only work for a period, not coded to the ship. I once talked to a pinnacle in the casino who saves her cups. She does a lot of B2B and S2S, but she doesn't always get a new cup, she just uses Her's until it expires......but she pays for the soda package all the time.

The cup also has a hidden bonus I found a couple cruises ago. I went down to the machine pretty late at night to grab us some refills. It was surrounded by intoxicated people trying to get drinks with every random type of cup imaginable with the expected result. I waited my time, walked up, and got our refills with no issue. I turned around and noticed that I was being looked at like I was some wizard or magician. I explained the situation to those who asked but many were determined that the cup in their hand was going to work.

If you get a souvenir cup on a ship without the freestyle machines do you just get your cup filled at the bar or restaurant or did I just receive a souvenir.

A few people carry around their cup but a lot just get a normal glass of soda at the bar.  We have so many souvenir glasses we don't bother with them anymore.  If you go regularly to the MDR for dinner your server will learn your preference and have a glass waiting for you (if they really want a 10 on the post-cruise survey).

This is one of the little things that make MDR/Traditional dining great in my opinion. It's not only your preferred drink, but any small quirks your group might have - by the second night, it's second nature.

Wow, I really can’t  with all the people they serve, they will remember what I drink.  Perhaps they have it written down somewhere either I’m impressed.

Sometimes they make notes,  sometimes they are just that good. Our server remembered to bring my son a sprite and my wife a white wine every meal after the first night

We always get a beverage package of some sort, and we always get these cups.  But I can't help but think these cups are not a huge draw for a lot of folks.  On our last couple of cruises, we went to multiple bars until we finally would find a bar that had these cups.

We find it's much easier to ask for a beverage at a bar, and get a nice new clean glass every time.😎

So if I have the soda package, do I need to go to a machine to get a refill? I cannot ask for one at a bar or restaurant?

The machines give you more options because they are the Coke Freestyle. Loaded with probably every flavor of soda and juice that coke sells and I think 5 add-in flavors like Cherry, grape, vanilla, and orange.

But yes, you can also just go up to a bar and ask for what's there which is usually limited to Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite - though on Harmony recently they also had cans of ginger ale and sprite zero which shocked me.
