Free internet day for diamond... and more

Recommended Posts

Hello,
We are diamond now. I have a question to use the free C&A internet day because I do not have a package.
How does that work?
For example, we are on the third day of cruise, I can’t wait, I miss the internet. It’s the D-Day for me.
Need to ask? Need to validate something on the application?
Thank you for your experiences

The free day is pre-loaded on your account.

When you connect to the ship wifi and choose the option to buy Voom if you choose a 24 hour plan the price is discounted to zero for a diamond member. You go through the motions as if you were going to buy it and then it's discounted.

You can also apply the discount towards a full voyage plan that is pro-rated for the number of days remaining.  In that case it subtracts the price of a 24 hour plan from the price of a full voyage plan.

We will get the Internet for just one and then when I want to use the Internet I sign on which then knocks my husbands connection off.  I just want to check every few days while he needs to stay connected daily so it works for us.  I like being disconnected and have even started leaving my cellphone at home some days.  I spent almost 30 years without carrying an electronic device and I survived then and it's a great feeling to go back to not being tied to a phone.

I always prepurchase my Voom S&S in the planner.  How do I get that free day discounted?

You cannot do both.  You either get the discounted Cruise Planner price or you do the D/D+ discount off (free) the [higher] onboard price.  For D it is almost always cheaper to buy the CP discounted price before boarding.  For D+, it’s nearly a wash…with the onboard discount usually winning by a couple of bucks.  It all depends on how much the onboard price is, and you never know what that’s going to be until you board.

yeah, not much of a benefit then for me to purchase onboard for one day. 🙄

My wife has Signature Casino status which gives her a free device throughout the voyage which I use for my "working vacation" and she uses her and my D+ two days each access for her. We go to the internet desk and they add her two free days to my account which we can both access. Win - win for us and allows us to go on many more cruises now with my company's remote working policy. For the missing days we have set times that we each use the single available access. If we really need the extra three days it is usually only around $75.

A small quirk I've discovered with the D+ benefit:  There appears to be a point in time where the package price for "the remainder of the cruise" is less than the 2 days credit.  Usually, on a 7 night cruise, my wife will elect to buy the two single days, say, on Days 2 and 3 (actually two 24 hour periods, not cruise days).  Then, when the "remainder of the cruise" number drops below the credit (at some point on Day 5, IIRC), I'll buy that using ny credit.  We'll both use the others' login, alternately, on days when the other has the WiFi, thus covering about 5 out of 7 days.  The other couple of days, we'll just try to find WiFi in port to check emails, etc.   Usually, one can find WiFi in restaurants, sometimes a public WiFi in the town center and in the port terminal building before getting back onboard.

 Good day,

Question on the subject; What is the usual discount as prime? We are on our first cruise since my wife earned prime. We are D+ and usually just share for 4 days then buy a couple more if needed. We are on an 8 day Mariner in a week and a half and curious about the best way to apply things…

Thanks for any insight.

Go to the internet assistance desk and they can give you the info on the 30% off.  It does not need to be purchased gif the entire week, it can be fine on your remaining days of the cruise as well
