Ship to Ship Procedures

I recall there was someone on the boards, during the restart, who did a ship-to-ship sailing. They got off one ship and planned to board the other that same day. I was wondering if anyone knows the procedure for this? I get off of Oasis and board Grandeur the same day, will Royal shuttle me between terminals? Do I need to call someone and plan this? Any help would be much appreciated.

We did a S2S last Feb--Symphony (Miami) to the Odyssey (Port Everglades). Arranged it at Guest Services once on board the Symphony. There was a bus that first dropped off passengers at FTL, then continued on to the port. No charge for the ride.

There was a family of five who were unfortunately left behind, as the bus was full at our 9:15 am departure.

I also did a S2S in February and RCL did all the work for me.  I called RCL and made sure my reservation was marked as a S2S cruise.  Then when I got on the ship, I checked with Customer Service and the confirmed that everything was setup and let me know what the procedure was.  I was concerned because my second ship was not a Royal Caribbean ship but a Celebrity Ship.  It did not matter as long as it was a RCL ship.  They setup my Covid test the day before departure and gave me a time to get off the ship and over to the bus.  Right outside the terminal was multiple shuttles and busses to take cruisers to their next ship.  My bus left Miami and took a group to the Fort Lauderdale airport then took the rest of us to the port at Fort Lauderdale.  There was no cost to me, and it was very convenient.  When I got to the Celebrity Ship they put me in an short line to get on the ship because I was a S2S cruiser.

@WAAAYTOOO Jan. I do Oasis Jan 15th to 22nd and then board Grandeur on the 22nd.

Both of us are getting off big ships and heading to smaller ones. Are you in suites or are they both basic casino comps? My Oasis is my annual prime free cruise.

I will be getting off SY (annual casino comp which I upgraded from interior to Central Park balcony...one of the ones with the extended balcony) on 1-14 and transferring to Explorer (casino comp, but not annual...which is still an interior, but I will upgrade slightly before sailing).  So, no....no suites on this S2S unless I'm extremely lucky and get a RUB somewhere...but I won't hold my breath since I've never won one yet !  As a matter of fact, that SY 1-14 cruise is showing all suites as CLS (closed) which is different than when they show them as "sold out", which shows up as WLS (waitlist).  So that leads me to believe that the RUB's are pretty much done at this point.   They still have a lot of suites available on the 1-21 EX sailing so that's probably my only chance at a RUB.

Thanks, Mike !  This is an important piece of information that I did not have !  I will call Club Royale and ask them to flag these 2 sailings for me.  It hadn't occurred to me to do this ahead of time.  Super helpful.  Thanks so much !!

@WAAAYTOOO Will this S2S be your first time back since the restart?

I was going alone originally so I didn't think to bother to upgrade. But then my brother got the time off and we wanted a JS/Balcony on my Oasis. But for a while nothing was available. Now there are some balconies and suites available. I wanted to upgrade to a Boardwalk balcony, but my new MEI TA isn't responsive at all. It's been over a week with no response, the "sales" and inventory have changed and so now I am hoping for RUB. I am a little peeved because I want to make sure they know I am S2S but since she is barely responding to my emails, I think I might be better off going to guest services on the ship and having them do it.

This S2S will be numbers 3 and 4 since the restart.  1 and 2 are December 18 and 22 on OA.

Also, a correction to my [above] info about cabin class.  My EX casino comp is not an interior, it is a 4B balcony.  I had forgotten that Dan and I were able to combine our casino offers to get a comp. balcony on this one.  I will not upgrade this one myself.  If I win a RUB, cool but if not, I'm staying put in my "free" balcony !  I kinda hate the location (pretty far aft) but WTH, I'm "transitioning" from a suite snob to a normie, so I'm going to have to get used to it !

I have Allure 3 night booked in Jan 2024 out of port Canaveral. Considering a back to back or side to side to with Mariner as second ship.
I have yet to sail from port Canaveral, so not familiar with port area. How far apart will the terminals be when Allure and Mariner are both in port? What is best method to travel between the two ships? Walk, swim, bus, Uber, jet pack, taxi ect…?
I will be Star class on Allure if this makes any difference.

Now I'm confused. I'm doing a S2S in 10 days. We are going on Liberty out of FTL and then disembark on Monday and go down to Miami to get on the Freedom. Should I be doing something with RCL? We were planning on just taking a taxi or Lyft/Uber down to Miami from Fort Lauderdale but a free bus ride sounds good as well.

Sounds like it would be worth the time to check into it.  I plan on doing what @Traveling Mikesuggested and calling ahead to have my bookings "linked".  While we aren't changing ports, we will need some kind of "help" getting from the SY terminal to wherever EX docks.  It sounds very promising that you may be able to get transportation from PE to PoM, which would be awesome !  Worth checking into, for sure !

Uber/Lyft or taxi between the two terminals. It's a relatively short ride. Not an easy walk and swimming isn't allowed. I would suggest maybe walking next door to Grills after you get off Allure to grab a drink/breakfast and waiting out the departure rides mess to avoid being over to the Mariner terminal too early.
