Cat mom Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 If your bid is accepted and you move from sky class to star class will your drink package be refunded? We are in a Grand suite bidding on a two bedroom Aqua Suite. We purchased the drink package and specialty dinning using some onboard credit (funds from purchases made on cancelled sailings) and paying the balance. Would the onboard credit go back on our account for this sailings? Hoping to use it for paying Gratuities. Quote
CGTLH Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 Yes, the beverage and dining packages will be refunded. Normally it is refunded once onboard if the Royal Up was successful after the Cruise Planner closed out. The refund onboard is classified as refundable onboard credit and can be cashed out at Guest Services or be refunded to the credit card registered. Gratuities, the normal $17.50 per person per day, is covered in Star Class. However, keep in mind you might want to tip the Genie and provide extra to others for exemplary service. barjpoe Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 In reference to tipping. If I'm successful in getting a Royal up from a Balcony to a JS ; the gratuities are more in a JS , so how is the 'up charge' handled? sS Quote
teddy Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 Increased gratuities start with Grand Suite. Real world experience: We Royal Upped from a balcony to Junior Suite last week and gratuities stayed the same….$14.50 pp/pd as I recall Quote
Hagar Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 Second the motion that grats do not increase at the JS level (I call it the training wheel suite level ;>) Quote

AshleyDillo Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 3 minutes ago, KLA said: Similar question - if you get upgraded to a Grand Suite, will your internet package be refunded? Only on Oasis and Quantum class ships as they are the only ships that give the free internet for Grand Suites and above. If you can't cancel it yourself in the Cruise Planner because of a last minute RoyalUp you can ask the Concierge onboard to make sure it is handled for you and it will be a refundable OBC. Voom as a separate purchase, easy. Voom bundled in with a beverage package, no idea how that would work. KLA 1 Quote
twangster Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 1 hour ago, KLA said: Similar question - if you get upgraded to a Grand Suite, will your internet package be refunded? Not automatically. Suite guests in the Royal Suite product (Quantum and Oasis class) are free to purchase things in the cruise planner that overlap with Suite perks. A GS guest could for example purchase The Key (if it's offered) and other than embarkation lunch or priority access to select activities really get no other benefit they don't already get. The system doesn't look at your cabin and guide your purchasing. If you are successful with Royal Up within the timeframe when the cruise planner is closed in the days before the cruise talk to the suite concierge upon boarding. KLA 1 Quote
