  1. I would choose Navigator. She has all the new restaurants that the newest ship, Symphony OTS, has (Playmakers $, Hooked $, El Loco Fresh). You will have a great time on either ship. This makes me excited to hear what they have in store for Oasis AMPlification. I am sure they learned a few additional things from the Navigator AMP that they will implement Oasis.
  2. You can always stay onboard the ship while it is in Miami. You will be able to have most of the ship to yourselves including the pool loungers and take advantage of the drink package. Book the North Star while it is in Miami. The view of the Miami skyline must be incredible from the North Star!
  3. Awesome blog! Thanks @twangster for all the great photos and sharing your experience on the newly refurbished Navigator.
  4. Yes you can. Just call Casino Royale and provide both OBC redemption codes
  5. Or a re-positioning cruise. Best bang for the buck! Sort of like a mileage run to gain airline status/points.
  6. Day 1 is pretty much anything goes. As long as you are not in swimming attire, you should be fine in the MDR. If you get cold easily, I would pack a light sweater/cardigan in your backpack/carry-on to wear in the MDR.
  7. Like many purchases while on vacation, Royal is banking on impulse purchases. With JR Express conveniently located next to the pool deck with plenty foot traffic, their YTD sales #'s will be up.
  8. Can you please check on the fooseball table? On Mariner, it was no charge but it looked like someone hot-wired the machine because the card reader was removed.
  9. They work great on the ceiling as well.
  10. Be prepared to stand in line at customs and currency exchange. We enjoyed our time in Cuba want to go back soon!
  11. Enjoying the blog so far @twangster. We will be sailing her in April on the exact itinerary. One question about JR Express on Navigator. Do you have to order a meal if you want to get a float using the Refreshment Drink Package? I know the policy is ship-dependent. Thanks in advance!
  12. I did the tour on Oasis of the Seas and loved it. My wife opted out and went to the casino instead because it was not her thing.
  13. There should be a few drink package sales on Cruise Planner prior to your July sailing. Just keep checking :)
  14. Solarium was great place to grab a bite on embarkation day.
  15. WJ has always been hit or miss. But it serves it's purpose. A casual place to have a quick meal so you can enjoy your next activity. On port days, we like to grab yogurt, fruit and maybe a croissant at Park Café. Something that isn't heavy so we won't feel sluggish while at port.
  16. If you really want to brew your own coffee, the Aeropress is great for travelling.
  17. If you purchased the BOGO dining package, visit any specialty dining venue so you can get first dibs on dining times/venues. After lunch, hit the pool deck with a drink or take a nap before muster drill because who really gets good sleep the night before a cruise?????
  18. Mediterranean in the summer and Caribbean in the winter.
  19. I was hoping you were going to 'scope as you just recently were on the Navigator before her dry dock. If you change your mind, I look forward to watching your first impressions on the changes!
  20. Another reason to collect crew member's names and position. Great employees should be praised and recognized. Employees who fall short should also be reported. Either they go through more training or the company should find someone more competent. I am sure RCL will follow up and find out who failed in this instance.
  21. The reality is there is not enough consumer protection in the travel industry. A lot of weight is put onto the consumer to purchase their own insurance policy and even that is poorly regulated. Often the policy wordings are written in a way that the general public cannot interpret. Travel agents are selling travel insurance policies they themselves are not able to interpret and rely on E&O insurance to cover the few cases against them.
