Oh, I gotta add. People wash your hands. Forget COVID. It's basic hygiene. And common courtesy.

The most annoying cruiser is the one who has no concept of space and think they're the only people around. Walking down the middle of a busy promenade and they just stop randomly.

Probably the same people that take their good ole time stowing their bags while boarding a plane.

For others that are reading this string of posts...
I have Apple Airtags that I keep in all my luggage and bags.  Once you purchase them there are no additional costs.  You can use your iPhone to track the bags and see where they are.  Getting on the ship I have seen my bags near my cabin and have been able to locate it and get it before the cabin steward.  Getting off the ship I can use them to track and locate my bag in the big room where everyone's bags are located.  At the airport I can see that my bag is getting moved from each plane in my connection.  Then I can just watch my phone and it will tell me when my bags are on the conveyer to pick up.  I no longer have to wonder where my bags are.

When that has happened to us (both in MIA and FLL), they had courtesy shuttles to take you back to your original terminal to get to your vehicle( assuming you parked there). A little annoying, but not a big deal. The new, big ships always get priority over the smaller.

We have been twice on Odyssey, both times were for Mediterranean cruises, and we absolutely loved it. There is so much to do onboard that you need to force yourself to be bored. You will love it!

We’ll be on Odyssey in 45 days for a Southern Caribbean itinerary.  It will be the first time back on a Quantum class since the first sailing of Quantum back in 2014.  I know much has changed with Odyssey, I’m anxious to experience the improvements.

Bob_KY reacted to Sharla in travel agent commission
Twangster's entire comment was correct, but this part is spot on. "Rebating" is a hot topic here because it's a competition between small, independent agents/agencies (such as MEI) and big box stores (like Costco or Amex Travel).

This is true and varies by agency, as well as what percentage Royal Caribbean pays the agency (the more volume you do, the higher the commission percentage).
So yes, repricing to a lower fare affects commission (as does adding a casino code, which DRASTICALLY affects commission, don't get me started on that one).

Bottom line- We still stand by our service, and we have to get paid. I simply cannot give away $300 when I'm making $200.

Bob_KY reacted to Pattycruise in Keep checking Black Friday sales
I went through all of my upcoming cruises (14 total) to check pricing and cancel/rebook for the Black Friday sales.  Today on FB someone posted Hideaway beach was 1/2 price for my March sailing. I had already adjusted that price (saving about $15 when the sale started).  I saved an additional $55 today.
Lesson learned.  Continue to check the BF sales!!

Both Brillance and Radiance are 90K GT Radiance class ships - Brillance was updated 2013 and Radiance in 2016.  I'd focus on the itinerary and sail dates / price rather than the ship.

I am sorry this happened to you.  I would be upset too.  This is exactly why I use a travel credit card, which provides cancelation insurance automatically, and protects me from situations like this.  The issuing bank has a lot more pull with the service providers than I do as an individual and will not hesitate to go after them for refunds and damage relief on behalf of their customers.

As a non-government entity RCL should be able to continue marketing to groups and charters.  The charter thing where a sailing booked by passengers who have already paid for non-refundable airfare gets converted to a charter and the customer is holding the airfare bag is wrong.  We got hit this way this past summer with an 8 day Greek Island cruise.  Left holding a $3,400 American Airlines bag on a cruise we had booked for many months.
On the groups, it would be great if RCL had to disclose a group and the size online (if group over 150) as soon as a group books. When you are selecting a cruise you might just want to pick a different sail date.  Regardless of how the group behaves, it is likely bar and show access congestion changes on large group cruises and the pool behaviors might change as well.  If you had a 4 and 6 year old with you and found out 900 Harley-Davidson Owners Group passengers were going to be on board you might just want to change your sail date (I used to be one of those years ago).  RCL should also allow you to change sailing and waive the $100 pp penalty.
    Just my 2 cents.

I carry cash too.    We both carry some cash in carry-on bag, in an envelope.  Never an issue.  As you said, once onboard we put it in safe.  Just carry what we need each day in pocket or purse.

We don't carry gobs of change on board with us.  We do have some (maybe 10, $1 bills and other assorted change, each).  We bring larger bills and then make change as we go along at Guest Services.  This is pretty easy for us to do since we are in and out of the casino all the time and always have cash around....but I think it will work for anyone, TBH.  I agree with @Bob_KY that it is wise to have some change tucked away in a couple of places but we never have uber amounts of change at any one time.

Last week on Mariner, we were in one of the new far forward Panoramic ocean view cabins (1L) which is NOT one of the suites but just categorized as an ocean view.  I am assuming that, since we had just made Pinnacle, the room attendant brought us a paper Compass every night.  I was really surprised but very happy to get it.  As most know, I despise the app and having the paper Compass was so nice.  It'll be interesting to see if we continue to get the paper Compass on future non-Suite cruises,  I'm sure that if I ask, we could get one...it was just very nice to get one without having to ask.
