I just booked my first cruise for my fiancé and I on the harmony of the seas in may 2017 for our honeymoon.  We are booked in a junior suite with balcony and As a first time cruiser I'm looking for any and all suggestions on what to bring, secrets of the ship, drink packages, places to eat, excursions, and fun things we have to do on the boat.  I don't mind splurging a little since its our honeymoon but are there some discounts or upgrades we can try to get? And how to get every bang for our buck so to speak.
 
Any help or tips or what to expect would be greatly appreciated and since this is our first time just want to have as much information and research i can before we go

My wife & I are traveling on Harmony in March 2017 with our two children and I wanted to know if our 3 year old needed a passport or just a birth certificate since it's a closed loop cruise. Any ideas?

Just a heads up to everyone with something that happened with my "dining package".    I purchased (for 2) my three night dining package for $70 per person on August 13, 2016.   This month, November 2016,  after reviewing my VISA account, I noticed two separate credits on my account.   Each was for $70 for a total refund of my original purchase.    I didn't have the reservations that I thought I had.    
 
I called RCCL today and they told me they had a "massive"  (that is the word the RCCL rep said) cancellation of reservations.   She told me she would be happy to renew and replace my original reservation but I would need to give her a credit card for the purchase.  I gave her the number and magically, the NEW PRICE had been increased to $75 per person for a total of $150.    I didn't mind the difference, but I feel they should have honored the original price we paid.    I kept the original email with the confirmation but that appeared to make no difference.  As soon as they run the new CC, I received a new confirmation email.  
 
Check your reservation today and make sure you have not also been cancelled.  This is something you might not notice until arrival at the ship.  
 
 

To make a long story short, I have an on-line booking and was looking to move it to my travel agent.  I have had a Crown and Anchor account for years.  All of the sudden, it said my log in was wrong (which wasn't).  I couldn't retrieve my recovery as I haven't had that email for years.  I created a new log in but now I cannot pay on-line.  I called RCI and they couldn't get it fixed either.  I can call and pay over the phone but that is kind of a hassle for me I feel like.  Are they any of you that call in your payment directly to RCI?  I don't know if I can even transfer it to my travel agent anyway.
 
Any suggestions please.

We just noticed there are benefits to our Crown and Anchor Gold level that we can take advantage of on our upcoming cruise. Namely:
1) Special breakfast before Debarcation
2) Priority Embarcation
3) Special offers on the ship
 
Will we be provided information on this with our packet of stuff when we get on the ship? Do we have to inquire about them separately?
 
What sort of special shipboard offers might I be looking at?

Quick question!  We are going on the Harmony in a couple weeks and we did the drink package.
 
My father insists on having everything linked to his account so he can pay, because he's a great guy.
 
Question: we did the deluxe drink package.  Does a sale show up on the invoice at the end of the cruise for every time we buy a drink, even if it's "free"?  Or does nothing show up unless we decide to add additional gratuity?

I'm thinking about making a cruise with my partner in 2017. We'll be together for 5 years that year.
I've been looking through some itineraries and different ships to see what I'd like to do.
 
Basically two options have come to the top of my list.
 
The Harmony of the Seas, sailing 8 days in the Caribbean. And the other one is the Serenade of the Seas sailing 12 days in Scandinavia.
My first and only cruise to date has been on the Serenade in Alaska rougly 12,5 years ago, so I know that this is an awesome ship.
But, months ago we've seen the Harmony docked in Rotterdam and it really looked amazing as well. And we've never been to the caribbean, so that's something I'd really like as well.
 
My question is, which cruise would you recommend? And has any of you ever been on a cruise to Norway and the North Cape?

we all know how difficult it is to purchase Royal Caribbean ship models apart from on the ship.so I propose that this topic be used to get people their models!
 
For instance I am after Anthem of the Seas ship model & Harmony of the Seas. so would ask if anyone is willing to buy one on board for me and ship the ship to the UK? Obviously I would pay all the money upfront etc and a little extra so you can buy a drink on  board :P

I'm getting antsy for our cruise in a couple of weeks, and have pretty much run out of things to check on the RC site.  So this morning I decided to check out the Gifts and Gear section.
 
I see that they have the Unisex Terry Slippers on sale for $7.00, and figure, "Hey,  my wife is worth $7.00...I should order these for her to use in the cabin."
 
My question is on their sizes...which seem kind of odd (or maybe they aren't if you are a slipper buyer).
 
They offer two sizes:  Womens 6 / Mens 5.5  and Womens 10 / Mens 8.5.
 
Does anybody know what this means?  Does that mean the smaller size begins at a women's size 6 and goes up to women's size 10....or does that mean it is literally for a women's size 6?  (Meaning, maybe they are out of the other sizes and those are the only two sizes they have left.)

I always get to the port early and often have to wait to board. Also, if you have any carry on bags, your room will not be ready until 1pm. On our Anthem out room was not ready til 2pm and had to lug around my carry on bag for hours. On our next cruise I think Im going to get to the port for 1pm. Get on board and go right to my cabin and drop off what I dont need. 
 
Anyone get to the ship later? Experience? 

Out of curiosity does anyone know if the ships carry Cuban cigars at either Boleros or any other humidor locations? I have sailed many times but I always brought my own cigars to smoke. Since the ships fly foreign flags is there a loophole where they would be available? PS: I know better than to buy a "Cuban" cigar from the street vendors in the Caribbean......

Onboard Adventure right now and just ran speed test.net. Voom not quite there yet, 770 ms ping time, 3.5 down, 1.5 up. Not sure if if I'm going to keep the package at those speeds.

If you book an excursion onboard can you use shipboard credit to pay?

This is a message for the really hardcore ship-followers here... Does anyone know if the recent hurricane that hit Freeport Bahamas had any impact on the refurbishments being done on Adventure of the Seas?  
 
There is a five day sailing after the refurb scheduled on Nov 14th, and then we're on her Nov 19th. I'm curious as to if the hurricane may have impacted the ships refurb schedule.

I find myself in turmoil and hope you can all help me out. We recently cruised on the Radiance and almost left the ship after the first night because the bed was SO bad! Firm would not begin to describe it. On top of this my wife has a bad back.
 
When I was talking to management. Somebody in charge of Laundry. He explained that I should expect a harder (older) bed on a ship of this age. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. After a lot of arguments they were able to improve the situation but it was still the worse bed I've ever slept on and I've done a lot of camping.
 
My question is. What experience do other people have on RCCL ships? Our first cruise was on Allure and that was one of the best beds I've slept on. We even looked at trying to buy one of those mattresses! They don't ship to Australia. http://www.royalcaribbeanbeddingcollection.com
 
I was planning a Christmas cruise on Voyager but thats older ship then the Radiance. Can anyone tell me what the beds are like on the Voyager??
 
Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to follow Master Matt's advice about booking my next cruise but unfortunately in Australia we only have older RCCL ships.

So, this Culinary celebration appeared as an option for our 12/26/16 sailing on Liberty. Has anyone had experience with these? They are charging quite a bit more, and it's not clear exactly how it's different from a regular Chops or Giovani's visit. Yes, you get champagne ( a glass), but do the "something extra" items come included? Why exactly is this worth more? I'm interested, and am a big fan of Chef's Table, but not sure how this is different...

Online RC offers 3, 4, and 5 night specialty dining packages, but the description is left kind of vague.   Are these packages open to all specialty locations and can you mix, match and repeat to total the number of dinners purchased?  For example if someone purchased a 5 night could they have dinner in Chops all 5 times?  Not that I would do this, but we do have some favorites that we would prefer to revisit rather than having to go to a different specialty dinner.

Our cruise leaves Saturday morning, but we're driving down Friday evening so our bags are all packed and ready to go. My husband and I each have a carry-on bag: one small roller (19x13x7.5) and one smaller actual carry bag (14x5.5x11.5). Does my small purse count as an additional carry-on or will I need to try and cram it into one of the other two prior to boarding? Thanks!

We are stopping at Costa Maya in a few weeks on the Indi. We have stopped there a few times, but it has been at least eight years +/-.
 
We are thinking of going into Mahahual and finding a nice cafe/restaurant/bar to hang out at.
 
Is going into Mahahual a better experience than hanging out at the port compound? If so, is there a particular place and how much $$ should we bring with us?

Does the Navigator of the Seas have the virtual balcony feature on inside rooms? For all of them? Will the Adventure of the Seas have this feature as well?
 
All of the research I have found does not discuss this feature in great detail. Any information is helpful.

i just called and re priced our deluxe drink package which is now 25% off instead of 20% off. saved us just over 50$. Not much, but still!

Does anyone know if there is a spreadsheet view on Cruise Planner of all the Oasis Entertainment? I saw one for an Allure cruise years ago. I want to see everything so I can more easily make my selections.  The display options that I see Cruise Planner don't really work for me. I'm sure all of the planning nerds can appreciate my predicament   ;)  I may have to create my own Excel document.
