Actually, I think they tried this already.  A couple of years ago there was at least 1 ship that they tried a non-smoking casino for a couple of cruises. Granted, it was not a LONG test but they did try it.  That was the last I heard of trying a non-smoking casino so my guess is that it did not go well.   Of course, you cannot expect a test like that to go well when nobody was forewarned.  I'm sure they had nothing but complaints from smoking gamblers who had no idea they were going to be victims of a non-smoking experiment.  The non-smokers weren't made aware of it so they stayed away, like they always do.
I think that the results of going non-smoking is pretty well established in other industries, such as restaurants.  At first there is a holy uproar from smokers who either deal with it or change restaurants/lines but in the end, they gain more non-smokers, who eventually make up for the smokers that they lose.  We are going through this exact scenario right now with our American Legion Post.  The smokers are in full revolt as our new social quarters are going smoke-free but trust me, there are far more non-smoking members who have been campaigning for YEARS to have a smoke-free Post.  They will now come where they would not, before.  I believe, in the long run, we will gain more than we will lose but it will take time. BTW, there will still be a smoking bar for those who smoke; it's just the new lounge and dining room that will be smoke-free.
Celebrity seems to do well with non-smoking casinos but everyone knows they are non-smoking before they ever book so the expectations are established, beforehand.

When we were on Mariner, you could constantly smell casino smoke in the promenade.

Has Royal Caribbean ever had a non-smoking ship in their fleet? I know of one other cruise line that had one, for that very reason we did several cruises on that ship and enjoyed it immensely.

Has anyone else left their cruise to find that RC has put a $3k worth of hold charges on their credit card?

Cancel the KEY and save your money.  You will be dollars ahead.  Your luggage has to be checked so it can go thru the scanners.  You don`t want to be dragging around a bunch of suitcases.  Carry on`s sure.   Everyone is embarking at the same time.    I.E.   Suites, Key, Platinum, Diamond Plus, Diamond, General Public and so forth.   make sure all your documents are in order.  Matt just did a podcast the other day and the Key was mentioned not to get it.

The older cups were so much better. The new ones are CRAP.  Made who knows where with who knows what materials.  Then again nothing on their ships is made in the U.S.A. that I have seen.

Keep in mind that RoyalCaribbean.com can be accessed for free over the ship wifi without buying an internet plan.  You can research cruises and sample prices before visiting NextCruise.
Promos and sales come and go sometimes one week to the next.  Doing some research before visiting NextCruise can make the process faster and you'll know how their pricing compares.

If you are flying pick some up before you board. Less weight. Or get some travel size bottles.  I don`t have much hair so a travel bottle lasts me several cruises.

We do next cruise on every cruise. Then we watch to see if fares go down.  We have found next cruise to be the way to go. Destination, cabin selection, ship selection, itinerary.  And they have direct access to blocked rooms and sometimes just released dates and itineraries. OBC is nice and then our TA gets us perks as well.  An all around win win.

I have not heard of anyone doing one of those insiders events.  I personally have no interest in doing one but if I did ever do one, it would be for WWRY.

Ever since a cruise a few years back we used the laundry service and my Jockey briefs came back bikini size.  Almost had to go commando.  Now its microfiber and hung on the line on cruises.  Hurrah for magnets and long clothes line.  "NOTE" Take down so you don`t decapitate the room steward or yourself as you run to the door to hear announcements. Been there did that.  HAHA

We wear sandals everywhere. In fact I have worn them on more than 1 formal night.  Khakis polo and sandals. I have been doing some serious thinking about wearing a tuxedo t shirt on formal night on our cruise in Sept.

We arrive at 10:30 a.m. . Everything is checked but a backpack and a small carry on. And away we go.  Royal does not enforce boarding times ever.  Nothing like getting on board and making various reservations and checking on MDR table.  Eating lunch by noon before the crowds arrive.  The early bird gets the worm.

Never catch a flight before noon.  If you have to pay to change the flight it might be worth it.  Sure beats missing the flight at 10 a.m.  Also you have to consider the weather and docking on time and getting cleared by customs.  We have run into all of those various issues over the years.  Good Luck. Hopefully you have a travel agent. If not get one.  Hopefully the cruise is not  any time soon.  Travel agents can work miracles at times.
