  1. I am still going to bring my therapy wife on future cruises if they like it or not. I will make sure her vaccinations and papers are in order. She does not bark a lot but her moans can be bothersome .
  2. RC photographers always ask for the sea pass card when they take your picture. And you insert your sea pass card at the kiosk to view your pictures.
  3. Sippy Cups for everyone. And yes you can sometimes get straws for frozen drinks.
  4. I truly believe you will be just fine. A lot has to do with the crew and the tender boats. We can say that in all of our tender ports over the years we have been lucky and have never had any issues. The issues usually arise if the weather is bad and they don`t tender at all. That has happened on more than a few occasions to us. But life goes on. Or as Mr. Magoo would say: Store keeper Canfield`s for everyone.
  5. To prevent pickpockets the wife carries a small purse always in front of her. I wear cargo pants or shorts and keep my wallet in my front pocket. Last year in Spain a group of kids bumped us and I laid out one of them. They were known pickpockets and the police said nice going and we were on our way. And I was lucky to not get my butt kicked. They took off in all different directions. We had 3 other incidents there but none of them materialized into anything. Reason being we stared them down and they dispersed as they knew we were onto them. If you are going to be doing excursions among the locals we also purchased those metal cases for our credit cards so as they cant be swiped and your credit and bank cards are safe in them. Swiping is becoming a huge problem these days. Like RJAC stated our cell phones also go in the safe for the entire cruise.
  6. I remember those commercials growing up in the 60`s. And stocking it on the shelves as a liquor clerk in the 70`s.
  7. Thanks for the tip that is what we will now look into doing.
  8. Birth certificate, Drivers License if they have one, School I.D. and you will be fine. Spend the saved passport money on specialty dinner and drinks. At age 16 you get the 10 year passport. If you were going to Europe then I would get a passport. Caribbean travel is a Birth Certificate. Like they say in the Caribbean : Don`t WORRY BE HAPPY and enjoy the cruise. And last get lots of family pictures taken. Those memories are precious.
  9. Black Friday has always been one of the better sales but you never know when a good sale will pop up. And with the latest earnings report last week who knows whats in store. We do multiple purchases and cancellations all of the time.
  10. If there s no tender ticket get down to the gangway early. We are doing the same cruise next Sept. as well as non RC excursions in most of the ports. . Welcome to the Blog. Enjoy your cruise.
  11. We choose the itineraries not the ship. The beauty of the smaller ships is the ports that they will visit as to the larger ships that can`t get into those ports. . We are 60ish as well. As long as we have a balcony the rest does not really matter.
  12. Dubonnet is a wine. It is 15 proof The queen makes a daily cocktail with Dubbonet and Gin.
  13. Better odds at winning in the casino than a cruise being cancelled.
  14. World Series of Poker???Baseball ??? or ????
  15. Also look up recent cruise compass issues. And perhaps check reviews of recent cruises of your ship on various web sites. Maybe even decide upon which future cruises you might want to book. On our last cruise the wife emphatically stated we are not booking any future cruises. I said OK. First day guess where we ended up going. Future cruise desk. And set a record for future cruises booked. Not 1 or 2 but 3 . Believe me I did not say a word. I was speechless. It must something in the food or beverages on board. Now she`s wanting tot know when the future cruises will be released. Do I lie or tell the truth?
  16. Congratulations on 45 years. Welcome to the blog. Oasis is one of our favorite ships.
  17. Congratulations on 30 years of wedded bliss. And Happy Birthday. If she is stressed about the birthday age just inform her that age is only a number and the cruise is my gift to you. Make sure that you let the waiter know that it is her birthday as they will sing to her. Just did that for the wife on our cruise in Feb. after she warned me not to mention that it`s her birthday. She turned 65 and I asked them to sing happy medicare to you instead of happy birthday and our table and several nearby tables enjoyed that change of wording. And the 2 days on the beach will be a great way for just the two of you to unwind and relax and celebrate. In closing YES this site is ADDICTIVE and it is also very informative and entertaining as well. Congrats and enjoy the family cruise as well.
  18. SORRY to hear about the RUDE rep you encountered. We have had that happen to us on several occasions. We have found between the hrs. of 9-5 weekdays you will get the most polite and knowledgeable people. And all of the comments in this post are correct. We constantly book and re book excursions, drink pkgs.,etc. Their is another sale going on now as well. Also it never hurts to ask for a supervisor. If you don`t use a travel agent you may want to consider one. An excellent company is MEI. They can work a lot of magic in resolving issues better than most of us. There is also the option of doing non RC excursions which we do quite often. Look on trip adviser and cruise critic for ideas. WELCOME to the blog and to Royal Caribbean. Hoping you have a great cruise.
  19. Havana Bob`s in Cozumel sells Cuban cigars. Bought some when we were there in Feb.
  20. Moving from Chicago to Tennessee I have learned a whole new dialect. And working in New Orleans for several months after the hurricanes I can speak Cajun. Now that is some awesome food them there folks serve. And some they are fabulous folks to be around.
  21. Can`t wait for Black Friday sale. Hoping it is beneficial as in past years.
  22. Enjoy the cruise and many more sailings. WELCOME to the blog.
