  1. Same for me - in 1989! (Man, I'm getting old...). Sad thing was that it was the last time I cruised on RC. I'm correcting that next Sunday by going out on the Allure. Can't wait to experience an Oasis class ship! Jon
  2. Hah! I bought the same thing. How geeky is it that it made me smile just putting my printed out luggage tags into those silly pieces of plastic??? ?
  3. Hey - we'll be on your sailing! First time back on RC since 1989 (yikes - I'm getting old!). Kayla - thanks for re-sending the info about Bernard's Tours - I looked it up back when you first posted it and when I looked for it a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't find your original post. Great timing to re-post it! Jon
  4. Just a quick update on the "Voom" sale and what I observed. This morning, the site listed my price of $11.99/day was 20% off. I just went back in and see that they have updated the banner and it now states "35% off". In the end, it doesn't matter - I got what I feel is a pretty good deal. I was hoping that they maybe dropping the base price, but that is obviously not the case. Jon
  5. Agreed... go check it out, folks! My cruise (Allure, Sept 16) just dropped the price from $15.99 a day to $11.99 a day. I just had checked the price yesterday. Both offers listed it as a 20% discount, which makes it appear that they've dropped the base price. I'm booking mine right now just in case it's a glitch. Good stuff!!!! Jon
  6. Thanks everyone. This is truly a great community. I *almost* feel prepared with 47 days to go! ? Jon
  7. I know... sounds weird. All I am seeing right now is that the prepaid gratuities show up on my account during the cruise. Is there a way to take care of that financial obligation before my cruise? I haven't seen anything on the cruise planner or anywhere else yet. Thanks in advance! Jon
  8. @Matt - Dang, you were right. It's a caching issue and has nothing to do with Safari. I should have thought of that myself. @Joe - I noticed that too. Started happening sometime in the last couple of days. Definitely annoying.
  9. Update - As Matt suggested below, it was a issue with cookies. I cleared my cookies / cache and the issue went away. Just a "heads up" for my fellow Apple Mac users. The Royal Caribbean site has issues with Safari. I ran into one when attempting to check in online (as well as updating my check in information). When using Safari, you will get an error message: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. Cookie /n Not to worry though... You can still use Google Chrome and everything works properly. Jon
  10. I am definitely planning on buying the Unlimited Drink Package on my upcoming cruise - between bottles of water, espresso drinks, rum drinks & wine it makes economic sense for me. My question to the group is what happens when you order a drink that's more than the "max" amount of the drink allowance in the package. For example, I see a number of glasses of wine that are above the threshold. What happens then - am I charged for the full amount? Is it the difference between the threshold and the published cost of the drink? I would like to know what to expect. Thanks in advance for the answer! Jon
  11. Well, I was just about to book this package, and then I looked at the wording a bit more closely... "Select your dining party and your preferred dining time and a courtesy dinner reservation will be made on your behalf once onboard in two specialty restaurants for the first two nights of your cruise." (emphasis mine) And then further down: "This offer requires dining on Days 1 and 2" So, it appears that this would take us out of the MDR for both of first two nights. 1 of the first 2 nights would be fine; both nights is not going to work for us. That's likely the reason that the deal seems to be so good. For those people that want to dine in the specialty restaurants the first two nights, it'd be perfect. Not for me this time, though. I'll now have to convince my fiancee that we need to eat at a third specialty restaurant and move into the 3-night package! ? Jon
  12. Thanks all... it sounds like this is the “special” for me! Jon
  13. Hi - newbie here to the message boards.. (but have been listening to Matt for years on his old gig on WDW today). I've been on 13 cruises, but last time I was on a RCCL ship was '89 on the Sovereign. I'll be traveling on the Allure in September - I'm excited about getting on board an Oasis class ship! I was debating one of the multi-night dining packages, but my fiancee's not that interested in spending so much time away from the MDR. We compromised on 2 specialty meals: Chops Grill and 150 Central Park. I went onto my cruise planner and found a program that I hadn't noticed before called "BOGO 2 Night Dining Package" for $40/pp. Has anyone done this package? It says no restrictions. I'm kind of finding this a bit in the "too good to be true" category... would they really let me into the 2 aforementioned restaurants with this package? The only restriction I see is the "you have to eat in one of the specialty restaurants in the first two nights". Any thoughts are appreciated! Jon
