Booked when testing was the norm, that's no longer the case and with my last couple of testing "runs" being frustrating as the pharmacies wind down, etc. trying to decide whether i want the hassle or just cancel it and do something else that doesn't require that extra step any longer.
Being the last option to require something is good if there is demand, bad if there isnt.

Its hard to argue "the total population" based on small samples, but I have stopped booking new cruises and wont book another one that requires testing (At least for now based on my comfort level of society today, sure my attitude might change again in the future).

We just started bringing a combination of Coke Zero and sparkling water, so far in the 4 times we have boarded they havent asked to open the cooler ... never mind count what is in it ... (for convenience we just throw them in a cooler with no ice (Ice melts and hurts the scanners) and wheel it on board).
Typically we have been brining a 6 pack of coke and and a 12 pack of sparkling water, worst case we toss some out if they make a big deal.

Before Covid, Disney ships were always full and they never ran sales - you might pick up a guarantee room last minute but prices only went up after itinerary release.  Since the restart, I’ve been getting emails with sale offers (we’ve done 7 or 8 cruises pre-Covid with Disney).  Disney cruise boards have not been reporting full ships.  
 
Disney is still offering full refunds through August 29th for sailings through 12/31.  Originally this wasn’t available for concierge or guarantee rooms but email this week seemed to open this up.  Promptly cancelled Disney Wish 9/30.   I’m not playing the testing game on a 3 day sailing. 

And 1 of the several reasons we cancelled our 9/30 Disney Wish sailing.  Quite frankly, at some point people will vote with their feet

We've had no restrictions for a couple of months now and life is just a new normal. 
Some people still wear masks! 
If you feel ill then its up to you if test and again its your choice if you isolate if you test positive ( companies may enforce isolation but pay you for being off ) 
Most people are respectful and give others space and are a bit more tolerant of others.( unless your stuck in an Airport)
Of course there are those who have never cared since day 1.
 

It seems the latest CDC declaration that the whole thing is over hasn't been embraced by other countries yet.  Until it does we are stuck with what each destination thinks is important.  Hopefully the CDC throwing in the towel will be embraced across the world.  Time to end the public health emergency.  Maybe then other countries will wake up.  

Your interpretation is different than mine. He states "effective August 8th" in his original post about testing and then continues on to say they will also welcome unvaxxed under the same thought. When people asked him to clarify, he confirmed that after August 8th unvaxxed could sail. He even confirmed it for this blog as you can see in the screenshot above (and yes, all screenshots are directly from Michael Bayley's Facebook page on this exact post I referenced above or are from this blog directly).
I am not here to debate you, I am sharing my interpretation which also happens to be an interpretation many others had as well.
 

I just still want to know why Michael Bayley promised all cruises starting August 8th would not require vaccination and Royal still hasn’t addressed that or apologized for the gross miscommunication.

The CDC exited the game.  No more blaming the CDC.  

Spoke with reps again today as we changed our room and paid our gratuities for the 10/16 sailing on Oasis. This is the most information that I've been able to get from anyone so far. I was told this week 8/7-8/14 is a trial period for the CDC to conduct testing and there will be an official policy update out 9/30 after the data is reviewed. The rep claims the goal is to allow everyone to cruise regardless of vaccination status. As my wife and I are unvaccinated we were again reassured that we would receive a 100% refund as it is a change to the company policy. Obviously this is word of mouth so may not be 100% accurate but I'm somewhat inclined to believe this.

If you look at the NCL travel requirements by country page, they only require testing for unvaccinated in the Bahamas.

Miami was better, Canaveral was the same process you described.

We stood there for a minute on the pier just looking up at her, taking it all in. 
 
Adventure was the last ship we were on in February 2020, so it came full circle for us. 

Stepping foot on that ship after check-in was one of the most satisfying cruise moments I've had though

I dont love it but as long as its disclosed (which it is as far as i know) I don't really have a problem with it.
Cancelling for a reason is where trip insurance comes into play.

Boarding on 9/3 .. would be awesome to see if the timing works.
