Wow! They're ahead of schedule! LOL!
In comparison, Cabeza de Vaca was shipwrecked in Galveston in November 1528.  He marched his men inland. When they reached Dickinson Bayou they dropped a tree across to ford the river.  Once across, de Vaca announced "We must improve this route!"
I-45 has been under construction ever since.

Congratulations on your anniversary and moving up to a suite !!  You will be spoiled !
You are correct.  No complimentary Voom on NAV.
    You will have:
priority boarding and disembarkation complimentary room service from the MDR menu (during MDR hours) or from the regular room service menu (any time) 24 hour access to the Suites/Concierge Lounge (I imagine NAV has a Suites Lounge now but not sure) breakfast in one of the specialty restaurants (usually Chops but could be somewhere else) access to the Suites Concierge for most issues that would normally require you to visit Guest Services special reserved seating area for main theater and ice shows ability to make dining reservations prior to boarding (through the Suites Concierge).  This includes specialty dining. priority boarding for tenders if you have any tender ports There are probably others that I am forgetting.  Enjoy your suite !  It is such a nice treat.

Keep in mind that on most ships (prior to Oasis-class) there is no USB or power outlet at the head of the bed.
Power extension cords are forbidden, so if you have a USB powered fan you could run a long USB cord over to the desk.
I did a quick search and maybe you could use what is called a "stroller fan". Battery-powered and rechargeable.

We sailed out of Galveston last September and used Galveston Express to get from IAH to the island (We flew in from Australia so had to fly into that airport). They were great and I would use them again.

Am I the only one who feels that that the new, radical design of the hull is really cool?
I have no intention of going on Icon (just booked Wonder this week) as I feel that it simply
isn't aimed for us olds, but was looking forward to Utopia.  The short cruises are off-putting
as I'm not going to drive 7 hours for that.  Now if I dig a little deeper and feel like the back-to-back
cruises are financially viable, then possible.
I still need to cruise on Symphony and Allure to complete the class!

So my TA called RC and they said it will have to be a connecting room for them to come with. I will have to pay an extra $300 to move my room to a connecting one, plus whatever insurance rate increase is and they will have to pay $1700. In total, I will pay $1800 and they will pay $1700. (The 2 are adults, I don't need to be their parent nor sign any guardian papers BUT I have a RC Guardian paper signed to take my 16year old niece).

I agree she’s a monstrosity. No one should book a cruise on her! Stay away!
Then hopefully, as demand drops…prices will also drop and I can get a better deal! 😎
Seriously…I can’t wait to board this absolutely Iconic, next generation vacation-destination floating city!

You'll almost certainly never be alone in any subjective opinion about an aspect of cruising. Different strokes... That's why it's nice that Royal has so many options as far as ships, home ports, itineraries, dining options, etc.

The more I see the images of the Icon the closer I get to cancelling the cruise I have booked for next November.  The price I paid is awesome (and I even booked it refundable) because I booked as soon as the sailings were available.  However, I am realizing I just have no interest in so much “real estate”!
I booked it to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary but I have already begun looking for different options.  Perhaps another family cruise with our 3 kids…their spouses…and our awesome 5 grandkids!  That’s what makes both me and my husband happiest…spending time with our family. 🥰  Once our upcoming Oasis cruise comes and goes and we make sure everyone would agree to cruise again will make that decision for us.
But it won’t be on Icon!  😂

    Looks great!
    Feedback:
    1. You should probably split up Giovanni's Table and Giovanni's Kitchen into two separate venues as they're pretty different (despite the name).
    2. You typoed "Costal" in the Coastal Kitchen heading.
    3. Allure has "Wipe Out Cafe featuring El Loco Fresh" as a complimentary dining venue.
    4. The 3rd column in the suite class section should be "Star", you listed it as "Sea."
NOTE: I think you know, but just to be clear, I'm just playing editor to help, not picking on tiny inaccuracies. I think this could be a big help to many cruisers, especially newer ones.

As someone who lived in Europe for six years during my US Army days, I endorse the Christmas Markets. The ones in Nurnberg, Rothenberg and Augsburg are terrific. When there is a little snow, they are even better. Some our fondest memories are of the "Kristkindle Markt". I know you'll have a great time.

We have lost our decorations on the last two cruises we have taken this summer. The wife makes some really nice butterfly and lizard decorations from figures we purchase from Hobby Lobby and add magnets to the feet or back. This last cruise it was two out of the three decorations that were taken the final night just before we packed. There at dinner time but gone by 9:00pm. Will not stop us from going out and replacing them as it really makes the cabin easy to find but hope it is not a trend. Maybe it will subside once the majority of kids are back in school.

rjweber3 reacted to DavidF in Making a 10:35 a.m. flight out of FLL post cruise?
We disembarked Adventure OTS on 6/17/23 (Saturday) in Ft. Lauderdale and had no problems catching a 10:45 flight at FLL.  Now we did have the Key and that allowed us early exit from the ship.  We left or cabin at 6:45, had breakfast, waited in the Key lounge waiting area and disembarked the ship around 8am.  Walked to pick up our luggage then through security with no issues (did not need passports because they have facial recognition) then straight to a waiting taxi.  We were at the airport by 8:30am and had no issues catching our flight.  With all this it can be done if you make extra effort to disembark as early as possible and do not wait on a bus to get you to the airport.

There are issues between the San Juan Port Authority and the cruise lines surrounding the renovation and future development of the port facilities, until this is resolved, San Juan as an embarkation point has been greatly reduced

Thanks. Yeah I think we are just going to try Explorer 🙂
Thinking about it I think the only major things we are going to miss out on is the 270° lounge, Playmakers and the Starbucks (admittedly we really like having a Starbucks on board so we will miss that haha).
But we weren't fussed with the North Star viewing platform and didn't think the speciality dining choices were particularly great on Odyssey anyway. Looking forward to giving Explorer a try!

Leave in the safe. We had a couple who were nearly an hour late to the ship. Security retrieved their passports and an officer walked them down the pier and gave them to the port agent. Lucky for the couple, they pulled up in a taxi literally seconds after the handoff and they ran down the peer to get on the ship. The captain emphasized being on time the rest of the week on his daily announcement.
