DunkelBierJay got a reaction from ChessE4 in NCL Ship Damage -- What Would RCL Do?
I'm sure everyone knows about the NCL Escape running aground. I wonder if the initial inspections showed structural damage to the ship, because they are disembarking all passengers 3/16-18 and flying them to Orlando according to this letter. Would RCL do a similar measure, esp the 100% FCC? Has anything like this happened in recent years?

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in What can I bring back on the the cruise?
I buy coffee frequently, but be prepared to have your bags/carryons searched in customs/security at airports because drug smugglers use it to mask the smell.

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from 4ensic in VOOM and 2 Party/2 Device Authentication
My employer requires the use of an app called DUO installed on a smartphone or tablet for independent authentication of credentials. I can't think of a way to do push or independent login code generation without having two VOOM accounts.

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from Matt in Covid test
Ha! I've had covid a couple of times along with my household, despite doing all the things, so at this point, I don't care anymore...I'm just really lazy, and going a mile to Walgreen's sounds like torture to me.....

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from Big Tule in Settle a debate.... WOW bands post covid
While I loved using my WOW band on Symphony last Fall, I was still signing all those 10" long thermal receipts every time I got a drink. Anything that gets us past this would be welcome.

DunkelBierJay reacted to aralcairam in I'm a pier agent - 2 Tips
Embark tip: The best way to go with the test result is printing it, but if you want to have everything digital, before arriving to the port make a screen shot for the results of all the people in your cabin. The reason is sometimes the internet signal in the port is not good and it can take a loooong time to be able to show the results, and there is nothing that can be made before showing the results. When you do the screen shot make sure that is the full page and you can see clearly the name of the person, type of test, date it was taken and, of course the result.
Debark tip: Make sure to put something distinctive on every piece of your luggage so you can recognize them right away: A ribbon (NOT red, please), a bright tag, a pompom, duck tape, etc. This is not only for you to spot your luggage but for other people not to take it by mistake. You have no idea how many times it happens that when someone go to get their baggage they cannot find it because somebody took it and is already gone. The other thing you can do that is very helpful to find quick your luggage is to take a picture with all the pieces when they are ready to be left outside your cabin with the number tags and whatever you put on them to be recognized, so next day at debark if you don't find them right away it would be easier for the agents to help you. This is really a good way to do it.

DunkelBierJay reacted to VACruiser in The dreaded positive test result
I am getting over Covid, probably the Omicron variant, and it has been about what has been said by others- mild cold symptoms, joint pain, and fatigue; but, was over after five days. On the 5th day it was like a switch was flipped in my body and it said, ok, you're done Omicron move along and I no longer had any symptoms.
My wife has had Covid, the Delta version, and that looked like something I didn't want, bad-bad cough and she still has some of it three months later. Interesting enough, I never got that variant and we are just two people living in the house alone. I was pleasantly shocked I didn't get it. @Curtis Kari I hope your wife gets the easy variant and gets better soon.

Sorry to hear this. I hope you can find a cruise that works for you.
I think I am going to try and get exposed in between my cruises so I can "get this over with".....I'm so tired of the worry of missing my cruises.

Be careful of the link, looks like phishing to me, not proper name for the figure skater and not the correct You Tube website.

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from Mark Elliott in Previous COVID infection
So, I learned this last night after talking to a couple EMTs who came to take my neighbor to the hospital for pneumonia last night. 1...if a C19 diagnosis is two weeks old, she doesn't have an active infection for it...2...it's very common for PCR tests to show positive for months even after recovery has occurred, and there is no active virus...3...many times for elderly, there are secondary infections (like my neighbor's)...4...this was new info to me...if you take a PCR test that shows negative when you take it, then within days or weeks, you take another, many times it will show positive...I don't completely understand that except that the mRNA feature of the PCR can apparently leave traces and spoof the virus....I think this makes sense with all the false positives I keep hearing about.

DunkelBierJay got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Check-In with App
Thanks for that...after looking again, I see that I overlooked that step...I am not sure why or how I jumped over it to the vax card upload, because I was looking for it. I will say that the workflow was a little strange in that I initially uploaded my card into my wife's profile...so I think it could be improved.
