What size "bourbon sniffer" do you use?  It must be the size of an Olympic pool.

Okay all you amateur sleuths.  It is apparent that you missed the Ferris wheel already installed on the boat:

I think its the European version so it doesn't need a stemanie, it uses an adruplua instead.

It looks to me like a miniature version of MSG Sphere Las Vegas.
I'm pretty sure it's a new theater/venue. It's air conditioned and it's insulated, so it designed for comfort. Interesting that sits on the lower decks meaning it will be heavy which also means that it will house even more stuff, my guess, lighting LED screens, sound system and rigging structures.

Totally agree. There wasn’t a bad choice so long as it had H20 Zone or Splashaway Bay. He would be content in an inflatable pool. Hah.

Yeah, he doesn’t love loud noises at this point. Things may change by then though.

That is great news to hear! I definitely wanted to check out San Juan since we have never been there. We visited St. Thomas in 2018 and considered using that as a day to stay aboard. Easily walkable is definitely our preference for this trip with him. Thanks for the input. Now hopefully I don’t forget between now and then.

Quick run down on highlights from our recent cruises with my 2.5 year old daughter.
Aug 2021 independence - best splash away Bay even if still in diapers as it has a good slide for a 2 year old.  Simpson Bay at St Martin is a very quick walk to water taxi and very short ride over to shallow entry calm waters in view of the ship.
Dec 2021 Oasis -  Very lacking baby splash area.  All other amenities are awesome though (carousel about 8 million times).  Coco Cay Splash Away bay and the wave pool are excellent choices!
Jan 2022 Odyssey - Amazing ABC islands trip but they were long days.  Our daughter did amazing but it could have been a nightmare too, we were lucky.  Caves in Curacoa, Eagle beach in Aruba was very steep entry and lots of rolling waves.  Climbed the rock formations.  Not for everyone with a two year old!

A couple of the trips we did Blue Lagoon in Nassau.  Excellent excellent choice for little ones.  Watch some videos and you'll see the very shallow waters.  need to be careful as a current can come through though.  Hope this helps!  Enjoy.

    Think I wish I knew...
    1) Pack hoodies or light jacket.
I'm born and raised in Puerto Rico and on my first cruise I realized that the nights on the Caribbean Sea can be breezy and a bit chilly if you stay outside for a bit.
    2) Drink lots of water.
Cruise food is excellent but blow me and my family up! Looked horrible on the formal night photos. Doing some research I learned dehydration due to 🍻🍷 and extra condiments may cause this. Some said the sea breeze but I'm not sure. Born and raised in the Caribbean and sea breeze didn't do that 🤷🏽‍♂️

Not all ships have USB ability and there’s limited outlet. Consider packing a multi usb plug in base if multiple people need to charge phones or other USB item. Bring a portable battery pack.

Only when purchasing the deluxe (alcohol) beverage package do they require any other adult in the same cabin to purchase as well. Refreshment and cola packages can be purchased individually

The drink package includes top shelf liquor  I recommend you ask for it.
I can have Patron tequila  Grey Goose Vodja
If it did not include a fancy wine  it’s an up charge.  The crew was good about saying so, and I believe it came to roughly $2 USD for the glass.

Congrats on selecting a cruise to the Canaries!  We sailed there in 2015.  We found Lanzarote to be a great place to go to the beach, had a nice lunch at a local restaurant at our expense for an excursion that was essentially a bus ride to and from the beach narrated by a British ex-pat.  It was fun!  At Tenerife, we took an excursion to the volcano/national park, and my memory is that they only made one bathroom stop along the way, if that matters to anyone.  Gran Canaria was pretty, and we took an excursion to a local farm (finca) where wine-tasting was a real treat.  We also stopped at a small fishing village.  Loved the matriarch who hosted the event!  No trip to Madeira is complete without the tabogan ride down the hill!  I have to say that Vigo and La Coruna weren't our most memorable ports, but at one (Vigo) we took a bus ride to the Portuguese border for "village shopping".  Royal lost my wife's suitcase at the end of this trip, so I urge you to cross-pack with a companion and consider walking off the ship with your own luggage at disembarkation.  Again, the Canaries are most interesting, and I find myself wishing to return.
PS. For an American, sailing out of Southamption is a bit of a cultural adjustment (UK food in the MDR or performers we couldn't understand), but the itinerary was great.  Our British table-mates helped us a lot.  Have a great cruise!

    Hi there everyone,
Found and heard about this site by watching RC youtube blogs. I sail on anthem of the seas on the 5th June and will be a 1st time cruiser. Exciting times. I have the drinks package and wifi package already booked, and staying in a balcony room and have pre-paid all gratuities.
I have some questions after watching some of the blogs:
    1. With the drinks package, I understand I can literally get a drink everywhere on the ship, including speciality restaurants, johnny rockets and the robot cocktail thing. Is this correct? Obviously I won’t be ordering top shelf stuff, as I presume this will get charged. I don’t particularly feel RC advertise exactly what and where the drinks package covers, but that could just be me.
    2. I recall hearing on a blog that breakfast was included as standard at Johnny Rockets, but then recall hearing only on certain class of ships. Does Anthem belong in this class and is Breakfast not charged? I do love an American style breakfast, so hoping this to be the case.

Finally, any first hand advice on tips and things to do in port? Not booking any excursions, and will probably do our own thing, but i’m keen to see as much as I can in the time we have. I’m thinking hop on hop off buses will be the best options where they are available. Does this sound like a good plan? Ports we are visiting include:
    Vigo
    Lisbon
    Lanzarote
    Gran Canaria
    Tenerife
    Madeira
    La Coruna

If you don’t notify Royal, you may not get the extra C&A points for being a solo traveler. Maybe someone can jump in here and answer.

vmartin12 reacted to Ampurp85 in Room repricing for solo
Yes, in order to get double C&A points it has to be booked as a solo.
Also, for the OP question, if you cancel the one person, they will reprice the cabin at prevailing rates. So, it might be good to do a mock booking and see the current cost. That way you will know if it is worth it to change the booking to solo or allow the other person to just be a no-show.

vmartin12 reacted to Last Lion in Room repricing for solo
So if you book a cabin for two. Pay for two. Then have to cancel one person two things happen:
    1. You get a refund for the port charges for the one person- good
    2. The other person does not get double C&A points unless you rebook at the current rate? This seems very unfair.

You have to cancel the entire cabin to take advantage of CWC. If one person can't go you just no show them and taxes and port fees get refunded for the missing party but no cruisefare will be refunded.

vmartin12 reacted to Pattycruise in Musical Sea Pass Cards... I have questions about
You get extra seapass cards at Guest Services someone from the cabin must be present to make the request. Bring a sharpie to label it, if you think you’ll get them mixed up. On Oasis it was a blank key, in the past it had the name and said “extra key”.
