I know Chris Wong is a very popular one on YouTube, but I thought it might be a good idea to share other YouTube channels for crew members.  Maybe it will generate some subscribers, views, and likes for their YouTube content.  If they get enough of a following, it might help generate some additional revenue for them as a side hustle.
This video is one from a synchronize swimmer who has been on Harmony and currently on Oasis (Aqua 80's).  She does short videos that frequently give behind scenes of the aqua shows.
If anyone cares to share others, that would be cool.

Truth about any 'yes'.  My mother-in-law did the check in for herself and my 80 year old father-in-law.  She accidently checked he was pregnant. Denied...  he had to take a pregnancy test at the port (KIDDING! 😀), but they did have delay at the port.

I hope that everyone here gets to sail with Captain Marek Slaby. He has been tenured on Radiance for a number of years; there is a running rumor he may tapped for Icon— and for good reason. He is the most personable and likable captain I have sailed with. His announcements are honest, frank, and each day he rattles off every birthday aboard, including crew. Passengers stop and listen to his words when he is on the PA.   Honest.

Let me describe how Captian Merek deals with those who are late to come back aboard. “This is Captian Merek coming to you from the bridge. It’s now 5:40 and all aboard was at 5:30. We are still waiting for Tom and Mary in cabin 9632, Rueben from cabin 3126, and Estelle from cabin 1174…..” There a grins from ear to ear on everyone onboard when they hear the captain very publicly call out those who are late.

Those grins turn out to widespread laughter the next port stop when you here the following “the local authorities have cleared the ship and the gangway on deck 2 is now open. I would like to remind Estelle in cabin 1174, Tom and Mary from cabin 9632, and Reuben from cabin 3126 that all aboard is at 6:30 pm tonight….”

Allow me to say one more nice thing about Captian Marek. Capt Marek loves to sing. He has single handedly created a show that happens once a week in the Centrum; Rock’in With the Captain. It’s the band and six or seven crew members (all amateurs) who also like to sing and are shockingly quite good! They are wearing their work uniforms of cabin attendant, server, laundry person, etc. They sing whatever songs they want across any genre. The Captain…..his jam is 80’s Judas Priest!

The ship usually departs around 5pm on set sail day.  It usually arrives back in port around 6am and disembarkation starts ~7am.  If you plan to fly out after 11am, you shouldn't have any problems.  A little earlier than 11am is probably doable, but if there delays at the ship, then earlier times could be stressful.

I'd spend the night in Anchorage and take the alaska railroad gold star service in the morning.  It arrives early in the morning so you can take the boat tour of resurrection Bay. If you can afford the time, I'd schedule it to have an additional night in Seward

We did the Vancouver to Seward in May2022 on Radiance and it was great.  We spent 3 days in Seward and did a fishing trip and fjords cruise.  Both were very fun.  We then took the scenic train from Seward to Anchorage.  That was also a very fun experience.   I would do the same exact trip again in a heart beat.

Also saw that Beatles band on Anthem back in November.  We saw No Quarter on Christmas Eve on Odyssey.  It was a great show that also featured Miles Schon who is lead guitar of DSB, Journey cover band that also played on that sailing).  I love seeing the bands in the Music Hall of the Quantum ships.

Peter D got a reaction from WAYNO in Royal Caribbean credit card. Is it a good deal?
I have the BofA Royal Caribbean card, but rarely use it, even for RCL travel.  It might be worth getting it for the first bonus points, but the card does not really have many other good perks.  I personally think a good cash back card is always better than a points based card.
FWIW, I use the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi which gives 3% cash back on travel including cruises.  It does require Costco membership though, but that also provides perks.

I've done 2 northbound alaska sailings out of Vancouver and one round trip Seattle.  I enjoyed all of them but recommend the one way, which means Vancouver.
Royal's northern most port is Seward, which is too often overlooked.  Plan to spend at least a day there and enjoy the national park and quaint town.

These are not exclusive issues.  When you book onboard through NextCruise, you get the benefits of reduced deposit, onboard credits etc.  After it is booked, you can then have it assigned to Costco travel (or any travel agent for that matter), and then you will get all the potential Costco travel perks.  Best of both worlds.

I would personally keep the prepaid gratuities and still pay cash tip to room steward and bartenders. I have even be inclined to give a little extra to specialty wait staff for a job well done.
