  1. Taking my mom on the March 2-9 cruise, unfortunately the group cruise dates didn't work for me. A Panama Canal full transit cruise was on mom's bucket list and this works time wise for me with only having to take a week off of work.

I see the Air2Sea flights are starting to pop up and was wondering how many are planning on using it? Is it easy to get the price match? Because I already see the Copa website is less than the AIr2Sea price  And also anyone's experience with Copa Airlines would be helpful.

So far I plan to fly in the day before and stay at the Radisson at the Colon port. I'm guessing Uber is the best way to get from the airport to Colon.

I have also already booked the Panama City tour and airport drop off for the last day.

  2. Can confirm it is about a 10 minute walk as I had to do it when we got back last month from our Vision NYE cruise.

They had no shuttles running that I saw or wasn't worth the effort to find out.

I just left them with the luggage, walked over and drove back to pick everyone up.

For Liberty next month I guess I will have to check both arriving and departing terminals even though the covered parking may still be worth the walk IMO.

  3. For our next cruise on Liberty we purchased The Key even thought we are in a junior suite. Took into account the cost of internet package for 2 devices plus the cost of doing lunch at Chops on boarding day and that total was only $4 less than The Key total.

So for those $4 we get:

Priority Seating in Shows and Special Disembarkation Breakfast

Totally worth it in this instance. Most times it is not.

  4. I truly understand being upset over the whole situation and I understand that this TA messed up big time by never booking the cruise and won't take the responsibility. I'm just trying to understand that if the money was refunded then what exactly was the endgame to the "scam". Or is this just a term being used from being upset with the situation.

  5. They usually have Hold'em tournaments on sea days for $100 buy in and at start of game have option to double your chips for another $50 which of course everyone on the table does. Usually top 3 pay out.

As for cash games they usually are later in the evening. Casino host usually requires at least 5 players in order to allocate a dealer. I believe it was $2/$5.

This was at least my experience on my recent New Years Eve cruise on Vision of the Seas. Not sure of others but on this trip some of the games got pretty serious in terms of the pots.

  6. Kids sail free promotion is for sailings up to May 2023 for now

Kids Sail Free applies to new bookings made between August 1 – 31, 2022 (“Offer Period”) on sailings departing on or after September 2, 2022 – May 25, 2023 (“Offer Cruise”), providing free cruise fare for third guests and higher who are 12 years old and younger as of Offer Cruise departure date on sailings 3 nights or longer booked in the same stateroom as the first two qualifying guests in a triple or quad- occupancy stateroom.

Have the prices for individual drinks gone up in the last year?  It seems like the package prices are soaring but I think the standard cocktail is still $13.  That's going to mess with the break even point.  Could they be intentionally trying to get fewer people to get the package?

I actually believe there is some validity to this theory as they are struggling with keeping inventory in stock. Maybe they think more people that buy per drink will be less wasteful and probably spent almost the same amount of money.

Another theory would be the amount of people that took advantage of double points that are now D or higher have skyrocketed and they need to make up the cost of all those free drinks every day.

  8. If you read the cruise contract you agreed to you will see that you are not owed any compensation for a changed itinerary or missed port. This is with any cruiseline.

Using a travel agent would not of changed this fact but they would of told you this same thing.

If you need a guaranteed place to go then cruising is not for you. Or get travel insurance that covers missed ports.

If you feel you were overcharged for any reason just dispute it with your credit card company if not getting a satisfying answer from Royal.

Matt really needs to put a character limit on these posts lol

Frustrating thing about this is that Option 1 is not even an option. We had a 5-night, and the offer is a price guarantee for a 6-night within a week +/- of the original sailing. There're no 6-night sailings. There is a 7 night, which is not eligible for the offer, but it's priced at $1,049 for a balcony! 🙄

I believe that is just an example. From how I read it you can switch to whichever new Mariner itinerary in that 2 week window
