This sounds really challenging, and wonder if it’s just this ship being overly cautious or interpreting the rules a bit too strictly? Or if perhaps there was a case of transmission linked to AO and now they’re overcompensating? I say this because @Matt recently had his kids on a cruise and it doesn’t sound like AO was so unpleasant. Different ages though, so who knows!

I agree with the above poster that hopefully soon kids will be able to get vaxxed too, and we’ll ALL get to go back to having cruising experiences that are closer to pre-pandemic normal!

pcvchristine reacted to Matt in FDA approves Pfizer’s vaccine for ages 5 to 11. Will Royal makes changes?
Cmon dude, that's a rather sensationalist take on Pfizer
"Most cases after the vaccine have occurred in younger males and required hospitalization, federal health officials say, though the data suggests cases remain "rare" and typically subside on their own within a day."
In all of the scenarios that the FDA modeled, the agency estimated that Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine would more frequently prevent COVID-related cases in children than cause "excess myocarditis cases."
    Most importantly:
"After reducing the size of its dose, Pfizer said its trials had turned up mostly mild side effects, no new safety concerns, and no cases of myocarditis or pericarditis."

The CDC document released justifying their extension of the Conditional Sail Order reported many cases of COVID-19 infection of both crew and passengers on cruises with > 96% vaccination rates of passengers and 100% vaccination rate for the crews.  The CDC did not name the cruise lines by name but what is apparent is the cruise lines were obligated to reported the infection data to the CDC but did release the same information to the general public.  I understand the business reasons to keep the infection data close to the vest.  It also reveals cruising is not as risk free as it seems.
I would like the cruise lines to be more forthcoming with infection rate information so we all can decide for ourselves what the risks are and we are willing to take.

Please do not comment on the efficacy of masks, vaccines, mayonnaise, or anything Covid related. This is not allowed on this forum, period.

Can you check the room against the deck plans? You should be able to see whether or not it has a balcony there.

The CDC outlined requirements that Harmony can follow that will excuse them from having to do a test cruise when coming back to the US.

If memory serves correctly, there was very little wiggle room when the vaccine was approved for the 12 and up age group; the mandate was almost immediate.

Our Uber driver last time had to take an alternate route that didn't use the tunnel because the normal roads were closed because apparently people like to pay to get up early and run in the streets for medals.
We somehow ended up at a dead-end on the wrong side of fence to get to the terminal.  The non-tunnel way is for trucks and the like.

-You're now able to (and encouraged to) push chair hogs into the pool
-Lobster night will now have actual lobsters served instead of oversized crawfish
-Bridge tours will allow passengers to drive the ship
-They're introducing new technology where a day on a cruise ship lasts 48 hours instead of 24.
