Got this one booked last nite with the help of Jenn Greene of MEI.
Really appreciate her responsiveness & working late to get my group booked!
I haven't been on Voyager before but have been on Adventure & Mariner that are in the same class.
Just got off Grandeur last week and still can't wait for May to get here either - haha.
Cruise Planner Black Friday sale has some great prices right now...
Since The Key is at what I typically pay for just Internet, it was a no-brainer purchase for me. 😉

Starting the thread for May 15th departure from Galveston, TX!! Who is in? Have you cruised on Voyager before? What's your favorite thing about cruising?
I am a NEWB! And the ocean is my element. I cannot wait!

This is correct. I've done this multiple times when purchasing the DBP for myself, as my wife doesn't drink. Just call the number listed at the bottom of any Cruise Planner page, tell them the situation, and they'll let you buy the DBP at the current rate while your husband buys the Refreshment Package.
Do note this is the only option they will offer in this case. If your husband doesn't even want that and he's content with whatever is free on board, then you'll have to just buy your drinks a la carte. But in this case, you can buy a Refreshment Package just for yourself, so that it's only the alcoholic beverages that will be bought a la carte and not everything you drink on board. At $2 a pop, bottled water adds up fast.

Yes, we do this every time.  I get the Deluxe and Hubby gets the Refreshment.  But you have to call them.  You cannot do this online.  Or if you have kids with you, then you can separate you and your husband and book connecting cabins like @ericfromripp suggested.  One with each kid, and then he doesn't have to purchase any package at all if he doesn't want to.

All we can do is sit back and speculate. We also have to have ports that will let us dock and disembark.  Looks like there are going to be some challenges with vaccine distributions and faith in it. I think RCG is just as anxious as all of us, they can´t take any chances. They have to get this right, rushing them isn´t going to help. We all want to cruise asap, we just have to be patient.

My guess would be Navigator/Mariner ... seems like Canaveral and Miami were the two ports that the cruise lines were trying to prioritize and those two ships are the ones that have been doing the 3/4 nt private island runs out of those ports for a while.
Probably easiest to build off of them first and then go from there.

I’ve always thought Navigator and Mariner would be first. Navigator for test cruises in January. If all goes well, Navi and Mariner for February. Come March, if the vaccine(s) are being distributed on a pretty wide scale and numbers are down, I see 2 more ships being added. By June, my guess is 6+ ships.

Fingers crossed. A lot hinges on these vaccines.

that is the perfect answer, No one knows. I think we will find out when we find out. I would assume Matt will be on it as he has all the other news he picks up. Thanx again Matt, and who ever he gets his info from.

    No one knows.
We can all post our own assertions and our own version of facts to support our own assertions and it's possible someone will post the right guess.  We'll know in February who was right and who was wrong.  Until then it's all guesses.

TriToCruise reacted to twangster in Scuba/Snorkel at CoCo Cay
    I still see both.
It can vary depending on what ship you are on.  If your ship doesn't have a PADI dive shop on board Scuba might not be offered.   They participate in the prep work to validate your pass and often do the dive itself.
Snorkeling is available to everyone.  I bring my own mask, fins, snorkel so when I snorkel I just wade in and go (no charge).  I have a set of snorkel fins that are easier to pack for when I don't scuba.  If you don't want to bring your gear it is $39 for all day snorkel in November.
Scuba pricing is way up for November 2021.  Nearly $70 now.  It was ~$40 two years ago.   I use it to keep my pass active.  In the past when it was $40 it was a no brainer way to have a yearly dive in the log book.  Now at $70 it's getting too expensive - I'd rather do a proper dive on a different itinerary.

I just walk around, grab some conch, get off the beaten track a bit, have some beers at the brewery near port, and then go back onboard to enjoy a quieter ship. I don't use Nassau as a tropical beach day.

We did a self-guided walking tour in Nassau. I think we got it from Frommers. See the PDFs attached. It took us a leisurely couple of hours and we enjoyed it a lot.
The pics are the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle.

lots of folks will say to skip this port but the few times I've gone I'd explored and had a great day. The first time we went to Atlantis, we got tickets direct from Atlantis' website, took a cab and beat the crowds and had a great day at the waterpark. The next time we got off and went to Junkanoo Beach, it was within walking distance and we just chilled for a couple hours and again had a great time. The first time years ago we went to the straw market and then I think Senior Frogs if memory serves (after Senior Frogs I may not remember right). The next time we go I plan to get a cab to one of the nice beaches (Doctors Beach? Cable beach? might be mixing up my islands) on our own and chill there for the day. I would also not be opposed to one of the Island Excursions- Pearl Island or Balmoral, etc off the ship.
If you haven't been I'd encourage you to get off the ship and decide yourself if it's worth it. We always have a great time where ever we go!

TriToCruise reacted to Matt in Refunds?
Cruise refunds from cancelled cruises recently seem to be coming back very quickly.

TriToCruise reacted to HeWhoWaits in Refunds?
    Theoretically.
Part of the money from our cancelled May cruise is still outstanding, despite multiple calls to get it corrected. Refund request was made April 12. We are just a week away from it being 8 months when the promised timing was originally 30 days (since extended to 45 days).
BTW - that 30-45 days is not calendar days - it's business days, so 6-9 weeks is the theoretical timing not 4-6 weeks.

It takes 30-45 days from when the request is made before you will receive any refund or FCC. If you opt for an FCC then you should know that the amount of the FCC will either be ?% if you volunteerly cancel the cruise or 125% if Royal cancels the cruise. FCC is not transferable if each person on the reservation that is 13years or older, but the parent or guardian can request (throughs their travel agent or by calling royal Caribbean) that any kids 12years or younger can have their FCC transferred to another adult aged 13 or older that is on the same reservation # that the FCC was issued under.

This will be my fifth cancelled cruise and my first in 2021. My issue is that I have let RCC keep my money and issue FCC because I am fortunate enough to be in a position to do so and am trying to do my part to keep them afloat.
What I can not do is take a bunch of cruises in 2021 whenever they do actually start back. So they are going to have to either extend the deadline in which a FCC must be used (by a significant number of months) or I am going to end up getting refunds for all those cancelled cruises in 2020. They only have a few weeks left to announce whether they will or not. Seems like a way to loose a LOT of money quickly. I am sure I am not the only one with this issue.

I've posted repeatedly to not post any political views on this forum, period.
This is not the place to debate who started the virus, how it spreads, which laws and local regulations should be done to control spread of the virus.
In short, there is no room for any political discussion, and pointing out others political discussion is still political discussion. Please do not do it.
